  1. One of my previous employers had a rep who covered Northern Ireland, good old Nigel. He stayed in one of the better area`s of the country and Van also had a pad there. Nige told me Van was the most unpleasant person he had ever met. And a crap singer to boot!
  2. Brief history. I was in a ac/dc covers band from 2015 until late 2019. The female singer played her last gig in 2019 and doesn`t want to do it anymore. We try to continue with a new singer but lockdown gets in the way so it`s very stop and start with a new female vocalist. When we can finally get back in a studio together last year, the lead guitarist (Angus 1) ignores all attempts to contact him, texts, e mail, facebook, no reply. I should explain that myself, drummer and other guitarist are mates but the lead guitarist is a bit of a weirdo and outside the band, we are not friends socially or even know where he lives. He has always been a moody sod and very negative even when playing a cracking gig so we are happy to see the back of him. Due to this, we get another guitar player (Angus 2) and decide to carry on. Original lead and his girlfriend (the original singer) is not too happy and the usual slagging match ensues over social media but he`s gone. The new lead guitarist (Angus 2) has recent health issues and has to knock it on the head so we advertise for a new guitar player. Who answers the advert, Angus 1 who gets ignored and blocked. And the vocalist isn`t cutting it so she is let go at the same time and we will look for a replacement after sorting out the guitar player. We have a potential new guy coming down but Angus 1 has now placed an advert looking to re form another ac/dc band and is trying to ride on the coat tails of the band he is no longer a part of which is fair enough as being the lead player, he played a large part in the band`s history. Now we have control of our facebook page and he no longer has any say but we are concerned that he may try to use the old bands name. So is there anyway that we can register the name and stop him using it? I realise that it`s only a tribute band and we don`t do this on a professional level but we spent 5 years building this up and are not to keen on this being hijacked by a tw%t who thinks he did it all himself. Yes, there is some bad feeling. Sorry for the long post but I would imagine that some of you will have been in this position so any advice will be greatly received.
  3. I have owned everything from a Affinity P to a US Standard and most things in between. Sound wise, it`s a P bass and they all sound like a P bass. Where the US wins is in the build quality and the quality of the parts used. There is also the prestige in owning a US Fender if that is important to you but like all Fenders some are good, some not so good at all price points. As Lozz says, a second hand US model is a good call as buying a new US Pro 2 is stupidly expensive imo.
  4. A bit like that myself as I think that Power Windows is an excellent album but the sound hasn`t aged well. Not a popular view on here but I love Adam Clayton`s bass playing and the guy looks like a rock star. But Bono is still a tw@t!
  5. Just bought a pedal from Gareth. As above, exactly as described and good communication. Buy things from this man! Thanks Gerry
  6. Still available. If you can collect, I might take a cheeky offer as I need the space
  7. On roughly the same subject, what really makes me wonder is people putting gear up for sale when it needs a good clean or dust. Puts me off right away.
  8. Sold a bass to Sam, nice guy and easy to do business with. 👍
  9. Japanese lawsuit bass/guitar. This apparently makes it great, rare and valuable.
  10. Wait the now. The neck says SB 2 but the body is the above. Neck swap or am I talking rollocks?
  11. That`s not a SB 2, it`s an El Torro. Pretty rare on this side of the pond.
  12. Had the same Ashdown a few years back and they are heavy as well. Good amp though but it looks like it`s had a hard life so Peavey and a sack barrow.
  13. Sold a bass to Tomas, a pleasure to deal with, would recommend! Ta Gerry
  14. NOW £280 POSTED. Or would trade for a G&L L2000 trib with a bit of cash your way?
  15. Price drop to £650 posted, £630 collected Buy this or a Player which is far inferior to this model, for more cash? Just in case, I won`t be able to post until later next week due to holiday weekend.
  16. Just for info. If you remove the scratch plate there is no ugly routing to spoil the look. It looks like a 70`s Fender. Just sayin...
  17. Had this up for sale a couple of times but withdrew it with plans to do something with but I`m not going to use it. Great condition, aftermarket bridge, standard Fender/Squier neck pocket, the P pickup on this is very hot for some reason. 2.6 kg or 5.7 lb`s. £70 posted to mainland UK or if you want to collect from Paisley I will knock off the postage. Pics were taken built up with a neck but it`s only the body, pickups, bridge, pots, pickgaurd.

  18. Squier Affinity neck from a 2020 P/J model. Good condition, light fret wear, board has been coated with Monty`s Guitars Montypresso, looks lovely. It`s been on a few body`s so there is a couple of extra holes at the heel so this is reflected in the price. The headstock is ready for whatever transfer you wish to put on there. It will come with a Squier P bass transfer which you can use or bin. £45 posted UK mainland.
  19. Postage to the Cotswolds would be easy McPeasy
  20. Mustang bass is now incoming so now for sale only. Ta

Nice collection mate. But you know it needs a passive V5 or a Vintera Jazz to finish the collection. And it just so happens....
  22. For sale only a Sire Marcus Miller passive V5. Good condition, only 1 small chip on the rear edge, lovely roasted maple neck - gloss on the front, satin on the back, the neck edges are rolled and is super comfortable, 9.5 radius. North American alder body, weight of the bass is 4.kg or 9 lb`s. Not long after buying, one of the pots went on the electrics. I thought about sending it back to Andertons but I had one of Kiogon`s jazz control looms spare so stuck that in. As you are aware, Jon`s work is top notch and the bonus is that should you wish to change the pickups, it`s now an easy job as it has screw terminals for the pickup wires. Looking for £280 delivered to UK mainland on a 48 hour service or £270 collected from Paisley or will drive a bit for a meet. I will include a nice Sandberg gig bag.
  23. Some good tips for restoring a finish in here.
  24. Here is my really good condition Vintera Jazz in rather spiffing firemist gold. Based on a 60`s Jazz so alder body, thin C neck 7.25 radius, vintage frets, American vintage reverse tuners, 60`s vintage style single coils. Fitted with brand new Ernie Ball Cobalt rounds. Weight is 4.3 kg or 9.5 lb`s. £675 posted to UK mainland on a 48 hour service or £650 collected from Paisley or will drive a bit for a meet, just ask. If it needs delivered, it will be inside a Tourtech case which is for protection only. Price drop to £650 posted, £630 collected
