  1. Any idea who could make me a cover for my Ashdown 4 x 10 bass cab that I have recently bought?
  2. A wee update. We got the guitarist I had been speaking to on the phone the other week down to the studio. The guy was superb! He has all the gear, SG with Angus Young`s sig pickups, 100 watt Marshall head and cab with an attenuator thank God and all the licks and tones. Turns out he is a doctor who played guitar in bands a few years back but always wanted to play in an ac/dc band but never had the chance. Super nice guy and he was smiling so much whilst playing that at first it was a bit freaky as I`m not used to happy guitar players! So it just goes to show that some people who answer Gumtree adverts are alright.
  3. Just to reiterate it`s collection/local meet up only.
  4. Just sold Bas another Zoom B1 four. Great guy to deal with as above. Thanks Gerry aka Bas`s zoom supplier!

Sold a pedal to Andy, fast payment and easy to deal with 👍 Thanks
  6. So can I It is a bargain but Mrs Jezza is begining to wonder if she lives in a sub branch of Guitarguitar, so drastic action must be taken to stay on her good side.
  7. I think if I was paying nearly 70 grand for a bass I would go and collect it myself! Imagine if they got Hermes to deliver it. On a related note, old Bob must be thinking about his pension fund. He sold his other Zemaitis to Geddy a few years back.
  8. Withdrawn for the moment as I try and work out if my new cab is gonna work out. Ashdown 15" Neo cab. Really good condition, only used at home as I bought it during lockdown. 300 watts, 8 ohms, 15 kg so an easy one hand lift. I need shot of this so £150 collected from Paisley or local meet up. I will not be posting this as I have no packaging materials.
  9. Withdrawn for the moment as I try and work out if my new cab is gonna work out. Ashdown ABM Mini 2 x10. Made in the UK, 20 kg, 300 watts, 8 ohms, 2 Eminence speakers. Used as my main cab for a few years so it has a few marks from gigging but nothing serious. I need shot of this so £50 collected from Paisley or local meet up. I will not be posting this as I have no packaging materials.
  10. SOLD Zoom B1 Four, as new, boxed, a couple of bits pf velcro on the bottom. £45 posted UK. Next up MXR M80. I guess it`s a few years old as it looks different to the current model. A few marks on it and the battery cover was tapped on when I got it. The box is there but tatty. The unit works fine and does all the things it is supposed to. There is velcro on the bottom and as I never used a battery, I left the cover off. MXR NOW SOLD
  11. I like the "I sacked myself" comments! As for the Uke band, as soon as a chairman is involved, I`m gone!
  12. Nah, he`s spot on!
  13. I have a Tonerider in a Nate Mendel with Fender flats and they are a great pickup. There was a story that it was these that were fitted to the original made in China Classic Vibe P basses. I think that you can end up going down a rabbit hole when it comes to changing pickups and I have been guilty of this in the past.
  14. Now reduced to the mental price of £225 collected!! This speaker with the official cover would be £500 ish. Never mind those Headrush things, get something with some oomph behind it.
  15. Pay??? What is this gig pay madness of which you speak??
  16. Give them a phone and speak to Dave, he will sort you out.
  17. They are quite expensive for what it is. I got it when Musik Prod were doing them cheap but I don`t think I would pay full price and there isn`t many around.
  18. Now that my band might be on the way back, I`m looking to get another cab. I have a 15" Ashdown neo cab and wonder if a 15" RM cab would be a good partner for it? Or I can get the 4 x 10 RM which seems manageable weight and size wise? Or a 2 x 10 RM cab? Advice appreciated.
  19. Thanks for the positive comments, it`s making me feel a bit better about the way it went down. I agree that we dodged a bullet as he was just going to be trouble in the long run. Re the singers i pad. She stated up front that it is being used as a "safety net" at the moment but by the time we are ready to gig, hopefully she won`t need it. On a slightly more happy point, when I had the advert up, another guy contacted me about the guitar slot but this was after we had invited the first guy down. Luckily I kept his details and after speaking to him this morning, he has agreed to come along next week and have a play with us. The guy knows his stuff and I was on the phone for 50 mins shooting the breeze so fingers crossed!
  20. We are re forming our tribute band and needed a new lead guitarist. Had a guy down a couple of weeks ago and he was not to bad and seemed like an alright guy. There was just me, drummer and rhythm guitarist present. During the week past, we had him down again along with the female vocalist. This time the guitarist was all over the place playing wise and had a bit of an attitude towards the singer who uses an i pad for lyrics as she is just learning some of the songs. He was a bit vocal about the i pad saying it was unprofessional and generally acting like he was a seasoned pro and she was listen to him. After the rehearsal, the drummer was ready to give him both barrel`s and the rhythm guitarist wanted him gone because his playing was so bad. After thinking about it for a few days, I made the call and let him know we had spoken about the events the other night and that he was out. He asked why so I told him but he didn`t accept the way we saw it and why would he?. He then tried to stir the sh*t with the singer saying he didn`t meant to offend her and telling her we wanted shot of her which isn`t the case. In the end up we blocked him and hopefully that`s the last we will hear from him. This is first time I have ever sacked anyone from a band and it wasn`t a nice experience. I thought I was doing the right thing by calling him and telling him the reason but after the call I came to the conclusion that he is just full of himself and no matter what I said, he would still feel aggrieved. All we are looking for is someone to play the parts and be a decent guy but it seems that is hard to find.
  21. Due to a shortage of suitable packaging materials, this is for collection or localish meet up only. If you are a fair bit away and are willing to pay something towards fuel costs. we could meet up, just ask.
  22. I couldn`t give a toss who Carly Simon is singing about in the song "Your so vain."
  23. Lets be honest, most of the greats are in the late 60`s and beyond so this may be the future of music. Paul McCartney please take note And don`t forget there are still loads of people involved in making this show work and it gives work for our fellow musicians so all good for me.
