  1. As new 40th anniversary P bass in Dakota red. Almost as new condition, just a slight mark on the pick guard near the neck, see pic 3 just below the screw. Satin finish to the body and the neck, the neck is the best feeling Squier neck I have played and better than some of the Player series I have owned, aged hardware, weight is 3.6 kg or a shade under 8 lb`s. Collection from Paisley or localish meet up. These are still available for £400 so a £80 saving. I have a box if you want it posted but it will be up to you to arrange this.
  2. Had this up before then withdrew it but I`m not likely to be using it anytime soon so up for a bargain price. As new Crown XLi 1500 power amp and Thomann case. Collection or localish meet up preferred. 2 channels, 450 watts at 4ohms, 330 watts at 8ohms, 900 watts bridged. Some stuff from the website: Features include RCA and XLR inputs, user selectable input sensitivity of 0.755V or 1.4V, Speakon® and binding post outputs, stereo/parallel/bridge-mono mode, power/fault/signal presence/clip indicators, forced-air cooling; and protection against shorts, no-load, on/off thumps and radio-frequency interference. Any questions, give me a shout.

  3. The Sadowsky SBP 2 pedal, basically the same pre amp that is in their basses but in a pedal. The ART is used to send a signal to the RCF and the desk and does the job fine.
  4. If I`m going thru the pa and just need some on stage monitoring, Bass - Korg tuner - Sadowsky pre amp - ART tube mic pre - RCF 715. Sometimes I might put in an additional pre amp after the Sadowsky but I don`t really need it. Such a simple set up.
  5. I think that that`s the worst part of being in a covers band, people don`t want to play tunes that they don`t really like instead of songs that the punters love and get you re bookings. For example, my old band had a drummer who wouldn`t play Oasis, just refused point blank. And quite right I hear lots of you say but people love to hear the songs, especially when there is drink involved. It`s all about compromise in a covers band and targeting tunes for your audience. It`s like I would never join a funk/soul band as it`s not my bag. So I agree, it`s bloomin frustrating trying to pick songs. And that`s why I am in a tribute band whose songs I love anyway. No arguments about the material
  6. This was my first dealing with Alain but it seems by the amount of feedback he is a serial offender! Great guy to deal with and he got me to sign his Sklar replica bass which is a cracker. Fame at last! Thanks again
  7. The wife bought me a HB from Thomman for xmas. DHL was doing the delivery and it landed in their Cambuslang depot on the 24th with a delivery to me date of the 28th. 28th - no show, delivery was delayed so would be done next working day 29th - sod all, not even a delivery update 30th - I ended up calling them to be told by the automated service that it was going to be loaded on the van that day. Called up again at 3 pm to get the same message. So by now I know it ain`t happening so on the tracking page I chose the I will collect from their depot section. So all good. As they opened at 8am and the depot is only up the motorway, I get there for just after 8. After 10 mins ringing the bell, a young lady appears and takes my tracking number and goes off to get it. It`s a large box with Thomman on it I explain. About 15 mins later, she comes back unable to locate it. I give her the saga so she decides to try one last time and this time returns with the guitar. It had been put on the van that delivers to my area but luckily she got the guy just before he left the depot. They are a bunch of buffoons who cannot keep up with the amount of work they seem to take on. They are always on the job sites trying to employ more drivers but sod working for them.
  8. It`s a long time since I have owned a Ray but it sounds near enough. But the pickup is in a different place I think and only one thing sounds like a Ray.
  9. I bought this in early November and at the end of the month was told I was being made redundant. Good timing to spend £1200 on a bass Due to being jobless and having 2 other similar humbucker basses, I`m putting this up for sale only. This is made in Germany, it has a 3 band Glockenklang pre amp that can run in passive when the volume knob is pulled out - the tone knob then works in passive mode. Ash body, pao ferro fingerboard, weight is 4.1 kg or 9 lb`s. The bass is in exc condition with just a small mark at the end of the headstock that you can see in the last pic. It comes with the very nice Sandberg bag. I would prefer collection or meet up (I stay just outside Glasgow) but I would be prepared to post in the UK mainland only for an extra £25.
  10. Right, get me the directions to the Toon now!
  11. In early December, I was in Merchant city music in Glasgow just to get out of the rain. I spotted a 40th in Dakota red, picked it up and plugged it in. First of all it was super light and the neck had a nice satin finish on the back. It was priced at £450 on the tag so I had a look on the phone and it was on their website at £400. When I asked about this, they said they would give me it at the on line price and they didn`t change the tag as they didn`t want to have to re print the tag when the price changed A bit strange but anyway, after getting my head round the fact that I was paying £400 for a Squier, I took it home and it`s a cracking bass. The quality of the fretwork is better than a Player Jazz I owned. Took it down to the studio and even the guitar player liked it with the satin finish and I think it`s the first P bass where I haven`t changed anything on. All in all, very nice.
  12. My lovely Sandberg Central that will sadly be going out the door as soon as a mod sorts out my marketplace sub
  13. Don`t be so damm nosey!! Oh alright I was enquiring about a cab with a view to buying one or maybe two but changed my mind. Nothing exciting.
  14. Change of plan so no longer req.
  15. I wasn`t taking their lack of response personally, I just think that if you ask a question and are looking for help from the community, the least you could do is respond to the answers that were given. Being nice costs nothing.
  16. Just been on the other place and he asked the same question there and got the same responses. At least he had the decency to reply to the answers he was given there, unlike on here.
  17. I think we all like a bargain but there comes a price point when for me it`s just not worth the risk of buying a total lemon. These Glarry`s come into that category for me. At least with a HB you have a better chance of getting something really good and not just for the money.
  18. There is a 4 string for sale on Gumtree for £65, located in Sunny Broxburn if any of you localish guys is interested. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/harley-benton-mb-4-sbk-deluxe-series-bass/1448234185
  19. They are £319 at Andertons, which is shocking as earlier in the year when I bought and returned one they were £220.
  20. I had two of these before. One I sold on here and instantly regretted it so a few months later bought another. Then I returned it to the shop and got my money back as I didn`t really need it. So I found out the other day I`m being made redundant on the 31st of December so happy Christmas! Of course I had to buy one of these amps just to cheer me up. Thanks Stew!
  21. I think the guy in that thread is wrong. As BRX says he used an Ibby and I think he had a Ric as well that he bought but I have never seen him with it. He sold the Ibby to Neil McCormack the writer who he was pals with. He tried to buy it back but NM had butchered it!
  22. I was returning a bass back to a shop and it vanished although Overlands courier had said it was delivered. This went on for a couple of days with Overland dealing with their courier and the shop. They even got the driver to return to the shop and eventually the shop admitted that they had got the bass even though they were adamant for a few days they didn`t. Overland done the chasing and kept me informed with the progress and sorted it out. So although I didn`t use their insurance, they did the leg work and resolved the problem. I have had stuff go missing with UPS and it was a nightmare to get resolved so having someone you can actually speak to is a relief. By the way, I have nowt to do with OE, one of the guys here recommended them to me and I used them lots.
  23. That`s what I have. Great cab and not too big and bulky for a 4 x 10.
