  1. What, you can actually make money doing this music lark??? 😁😁
  2. As I come from Paisley maybe I should buy it and keep it in the town, maybe play it in The Old Swan next month? Only one snag, I`m £21,000 short!
  3. I bought a black one of these at the weekend locally from FB marketplace. Got it for a good price and it`s minty. They are cracking basses, enjoy yours!
  4. Changing pickups in a bass is a bit of a crap shoot really. I have bought "better" pickups to put in a bass and found that the original ones were better. Also your idea of a good bass sound will be different to mine so the only thing I can suggest is you try it and see what you think.
  5. The last time I did a dep thing was about 15 years ago. It was in a place called Bonnybridge just outside Falkirk, some old hotel on the main st. It was all the drummers fault as he was desperate! He gave me a list of songs, most of which they didn`t play, the one`s I did know weren`t in the original keys and the corner of the bar we were playing in was so small that the guitarist, who had a massive beer belly, couldn`t see his pedal board and I changed the pedals for him. Never again!
  6. Bought a pedal from Kevin, all good and he it posted the same day so a big thanks! Gerry
  7. Available again but collection or localish meet up only.
  8. 14 year old topic! Is this a record?
  9. That`s the type of thing I get every time I post an event!
  10. I think that`s what we will do. There is enough in the band kitty to do this so will give it a shot.
  11. When I post an event on my bands facebook page, it asks me if I want to boost the event so it can be seen by x amount of people. It usually asks for a payment of £40 odd quid for 7 days which seems like a lot. We have booked a gig for the end of next month, the first time we have actually paid for a venue and we would like as many folk to turn up as possible. Has anyone paid for this boost thing and was it worth it? Also any other tips on how to publicise gigs who be great as we usually get paid to play gigs but I know lot`s of you play your own music and are on the ball re publicity for your gigs.
  12. I have been playing my BB1100s in the house recently and it`s an all round great bass. Glad I bought it.
  13. They did that to me a few weeks back with a Bassbros delivery. They tried to deliver on the Friday and then Monday, said there was no one in which was crap. They eventually delivered it to the main post office which is on a pedestrian precinct and I had to take time off work to collect. Still it didn`t help that Will forgot to give me tracking details but it was ok in the end.
  14. The words Classic Stingray and Parcelfirce should not be used at the same time in relation to each other. Hope it turns up soon.
  15. I`m in the same boat. I use an RCF 715 but I bought an Ashdown ABM 500 combo recently as it`s what I used in the past. The RCF and a pre amp pedal or two totally gave it a damm good spanking and I won`t be going back the traditional bass amp again. The RCF can carry the sound if I`m not going through the pa and we are a loud band.
  16. I have a Bass Bros shipping box I need shot of as the wife is giving me a hard time. Comes with all the packaging material, collection from Paisley asap. Now gone. I didn`t sell it by the way, just put in sold to close the topic.
  17. Hey @Chewie. Slightly off topic but how did you get the finish to look like that? It looks exc.
  18. I have owned a couple of Sr 300`s and they are decent budget basses. The build quality as with all the Ibby`s I have owned is good. As said above, the re sale value is terrible so make sure you want it before splashing the cash. If you can stretch to one of the better SR models second hand they have better pickup`s in them and are exc.
  19. Price drop to £160 as I need the space. Collection preffered.
  20. Jon bought a bridge from me, great guy to deal, no probs at all. Thanks Gerry
  21. Well that was a good plan! Bass was through the Yamaha`s and did the job fine. Then drummer boy said that he needed to feel the bass as it kept him in time. First time he has mentioned that in the 7 years I have played with him so back to the RCF 715.
  22. Tough crowd but need shot of this so price drop to £245 collected or you sort out a courier.
  23. I was looking at these the other night @Phil Starr. I`m going into the studio tomorrow night to try out our new Yamaha DBR 12`s. My plan is to put everything through the pa. If it works I would love to downsize and get a smaller speaker to use as an on stage monitor for myself as I currently use an RCF 715 which is great but is rather large. A 10 inch would be ideal due to the size (I have a Ford Fiesta and anything that can be downsized is a bonus) but as I play in an ACDC tribute band with a couple of Marshall valve amps and a drummer, I don`t know if the RCF 10 inch would cut it as a monitor with the Yams doing the heavy lifting? I could maybe put it on a stand and lift it up a bit? Using a sub isn`t really an option due to transport issues. I might just bite the bullet and give it a try.
