And as if by magic... -
Loads of which headphones are best topics but when practicing because I wear glasses after a while headphones become uncomfortable and having stick oot ears doesn`t help . So I`m looking for a set of ear buds/in ear headphones that can handle bass, budget around £100.

If you are selling it to a retailer in my experience you are looking at half the selling price they will advertise it at so you might take a large hit on the bass. I have sold stuff through Bass Direct and Bass Bros who usually charge 20% on a commission sale but I have had good results with both and Bass Bros will buy stuff from you outright. Unless you are selling gear for a good price at the moment it can take a while to shift privately.

I bought this as a back up but I don`t need it as I don`t have a cab anymore. It`s only been out of the house once and that was to plug it into an Ampeg 8 x 10 in Berkley studio and it is surprisingly loud for a 250 watt head. It`s totally as new. Specs below. Compact and light TonePrint control for signature effects of some of the world's best bass players (downloadable from tcelectronic.com or via TonePrint app for iOS and Android) Integrated tuner with extended frequency range for 4-, 5- and 6-string basses Class D amplifier technology Universal switching power supply for worldwide use Pedal input allows you to choose between 2 independent TonePrint effects, TonePrint on/off and Mute (suitable pedal: Article no. 160188 (not included) Channels: 2 Power: 250 W Controls: Bass, Middle, Treble, TonePrint, Master Switch: Gain Active / Passive Effects: 2 Selectable TonePrint effects 6.3 mm jack input 3.5 mm stereo jack headphone jack 3.5 mm stereo jack aux input Dimensions (W x D x H): 220 x 231 x 63 mm Weight: 1.8 kg

Due to buying a MM Stingray my Z7 is up for sale. Alder body, Heritage 3 band pre with mid freq control, passive by pass with tone control, 18 volt pre amp, Sire`s edgeless fingerboard design, string through or top mounted bridge, exc condition, weight is 4.3 kg or just under 9.5 lbs. I would prefer collection or local meet up Glasgow area.

Well I thought I was done for the year as I have spent far too much this year. Then BD had a rather nice Jap Ray and even though I have had a couple before and wasn`t wowed by them this natural/maple combo was just too tempting. I really need to give the 3 band more time and get a sound that suits. Well that`s my excuse anyway! Hopefully it will arrive before Xmas.

What`s the old saying, if you can`t say anything nice then say bugger all. This defo applies to my band

I nearly bought a s/hand one in a shop years back but it weighed as much as a small planet. I know the old ones were well thought of.

Advice - opinions sought - Ashdown MAG 420 vs 300
jezzaboy replied to Uncle Rodney's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have owned several UK and MIC Ashdown`s and they have all been reliable and if it does throw a sickie then they are the best at helping you sort out the issue. In general the MIC products from reputable well know company`s are fine. -
We use Berkley in Glasgow and it`s usually an EBS head and Ampeg 8 x 10 and to be honest most of them sound crap. They used to have ABM heads but they never seem to be in the room we are using. But there is 13 or 14 rooms so maybe they are in there somewhere...

I never sent my Z7 back but it was the one with the ash body. Great sounding and looking but weighed 11.2 lbs so I sold it on to a guy who didn`t care about the weight. But I read @neepheid post if I remember right who has an alder body one that weighed around 9 ish so when Andertons were blowing the Z7 alder bodied ones for £365 I nabbed one and it is a good bit lighter. And they are excellent basses, I actually prefer them to the 3 band Stingray`s I have owned in the past.

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2025?
jezzaboy replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
Worst purchase this years was a Markbass 4 x 10 one of the new ones that weigh sod all. Band didn`t like the look of the yellow speakers and I wasn`t keen on the sound having mostly used Ashdown and Fender amps. So between selling that and the Laney head that was bought to power it, I lost a few quid but hey ho. Best buy is the Fender Rumble 800 that I got from Andertons on a black Friday deal for £150 off the price to replace the above. Not like me to grab a bargain! -
I sold a US Special P bass on here a few years back for around £650 and I could have sold it 3 times over. They are decent basses and a MIM Mustang generally goes for around £550 so I reckon you got a good deal. And as above it looks genuine.
-
Andertons have a deal on the Fender 800 just now for £650 which is cheaper than the 500 model and as Lozz says weighs 13 kg. So I had to buy one as I stupidly sold my 500 Rumble to get a Markbass cab which I didn`t like.

I have spent a few quid in there over the years and even before that when it was Sound Control. It`s a sad day when they have moved loads of gear but still can`t make it pay and makes me worried for the likes of Merchant City Music in Glasgow.
