  1. Got a P bass loom from John. As usual great work and fast delivery. Thanks!
  2. Bought this a few weeks back from GG. It`s a 2008 US Standard P bass in vgc (I would describe it as mint but there could be something I have missed). It has all the original case candy and the TSA case is in great condition as well. The only non original things are a replacement scratch plate as the original tort had warped but I will include it, a set of Gotoh strap pins and a fresh set of EB Slinkys. The bass weighs 4 kg or 8.9 lbs. This range was a step up from the previous Standards and you can feel and hear the quality when you play it, I don`t think the previous owner ever played it. Why put it up for sale then? I have had it down to the studio once and was treating it with kid gloves so not the kind of bass I would feel comfortable taking down the Dog and Duck. Also I have damaged my knee and have been off work and may need further treatment so could be doing with the cash. Collection from Paisley or meet up withing reason only. Not looking for trades.
  3. Putting up with a (mostly) bunch of tw*ts for a week or more? No thanks! It takes me all my time to hang about with the band for a pub gig.
  4. Dave and the team are great. I had a wide boy 500 head that I stood on it`s end after a gig in the Hard Rock Cafe in Glasgow, I turned my back and heard a thump and down it went. Gubbed. Spoke to Dave and I sent it down to them, they repaired it and sent it back via TNT and wouldn`t take any kind of payment so sent them some sweeties. I would still use an ABM of some description but having to lug about the band pa means I have a Rumble 800 but Ashdown`s service is second to none.
  5. I had the 500, sold it stupidly and bought an 800 as it was cheaper than the 500 at Andertons for a while. Used it in the studio last nigh and had to crank the master volume which was most unusual as with the 500 I had it around 11 o`clock. Had a look then realised I had the switch that controls the output set to low, flicked it up and whey hey back in business. As @Lozz196 says it weighs 13 kg due to the neo speakers and if you need extra oomph get the ext cab for full power although even with the 500 on it`s own it would fill any decent size pub.
  6. I will meet you halfway? Come on you know you want too!!
  7. £375 now includes deliver to UK mainland.
  8. Due to having damaged my knee before Xmas I haven`t returned to work after the holidays. So what have I been doing? Practicing the bass? Nah, I`ve been buying and selling bass guitars and related gear. My wife always says "if you can afford it just get it" so that`s what I have been doing. Like the op I seem to be addicted to buying and selling gear at the moment. Luckily I`m going back to work next week so hopefully I will calm down on buying. Still looking for a nice Thunderbird though...

  10. Someone mentioned the other day that Andertons sell boxes or Amazon?
  11. My workmates know I play in a band and I get the "Oh I must come and see you" but most of them never do so I just go yeah and don`t get miffed when they don`t show. When they actually do turn up they seems surprised that we can actually do this in front of people! Out of the 5 of us in my band I`m the only one who goes out and sees other bands. Last weekend I saw 3 different bands in 3 venues and this weekend I have 2 lined up at the moment. If you want folk to come out and see you then it`s only fair that I go out and see other bands and I have made a few new friends doing this and met a load of nice people.
  12. Same here Lozz. I had the Boss but I had to use a ext cable to go into the jack socket and a holder to attach to the strap as I didn`t like the way it plugs into the jack on a P bass sticking right out, I was always scared of knocking it against something and damaging it. The NUX unit is much better, it folds in towards the body and comes with a great case that also acts as a charger. I have used this in the studio and on a busy stage and no probs at all.
  13. I saw that one earlier this week, stunning looking bass but I have bought too much recently.
  14. I like the "obvious cosmetic wear and tear" bit. Thank God they mentioned that in the advert or I would never have noticed....
  15. I managed to get cracking and get the P bass playing the way I like. As I suspected the plastic film that was still on the scratch plate had welded itself to the tort plate. On closer inspection the plate was warped whilst it was screwed onto the bass, I don`t know what was going on there, was it because the original film was still on the plate after 15 odd years? Anyway I ordered a black 3 ply one from Northwest Guitars for £22 with next day delivery and it fitted perfectly with all the screw holes lining up. Next a new set of EB`s Slinkys, I oiled the fretboard and it was good to go. Intonation was perfect so maybe it was set up when it was bought? The bass plays and sounds great and the neck profile is perfect for me. Overall I`m very happy with this purchase @DGBass I have taken a pic of the tuners for you.
  16. Here we have a Fender Mustang Vintera 2 short scale 30 inch bass in as new condition. Brand new D`Adarrio medium scale strings, weight is 3.7 kg or 8.1 lbs, Fender deluxe gig bag. It is described by Fender as Burgundy in colour but it looks more blue to me and as you move the bass in the light the colour very subtelely changes. Collection from Paisley only at the moment, not looking for trades of any kind. Specs below Alder Body 7.25" Radius Rosewood Fingerboard with Vintage Tall Frets Early '70s "C"-Shape Neck Vintage-Style '70s Split-Coil Pickup Vintage-Style Mustang Bass Bridge Vintage-Style Open-Back Tuning Machines Includes deluxe gig bag
  17. So I spotted this on Guitar Guitar second hand page. Looked nice and I have always missed a black and maple one I bought in new 2009 and foolishly sold. It arrived today and it`s a Z8 serial so 2008 - 2012. The thing is it`s like a brand new bass, not a mark on it anywhere, it still has the original film on the pickguard that looks kinda yucky to be honest, the case is mint and it has all the goodies inside which is very unusual. There is a tag in there from a different UK instrument shop price marked down from £1343 to £1103. I paid £1099 which is around the going rate but like I say it`s mint. I wonder what happened with it? Did it sit in the back of some store forgotten or did someone buy it and stick it under the bed? At the end of the day it`s just another P bass but I`m well happy with it. Anyway pics or it doesn`t exist!
  18. I do the set list and print them out for each member so that way we are all doing the same set. Until one night I decided not to wear glasses as I was trying to be cool, mis read the list and started one song whilst the rest of the band started the correct one. Glasses back on
  19. I`ve played ac/dc stuff live for the last 10 years and the G string is somewhere on a beach, under a sun shade with a pina colada wearing Ray Bans!
  20. I had a Digbeth 500 like yours and looked at the 212 matching cab but 30 kg in this day and age is a no from me but glad you like yours.
  21. Played the Bungalow in my home town of Paisley last night. Weather was a bit miserable and we weren`t sure how many tickets we had sold prior to the gig. With pre sales and on the door we sold it out so the venue and us were well happy. It`s a great small venue, drink isn`t too expensive and Kev the soundman is a cool guy who used to work in the Hard Rock Cafe in Glasgow, one song and the soundcheck was done. I used my Greco P bass prob for the last time live as I have a US P coming next week. The only downside to the gig is I had done my ligament in my knee and the rhythm guitarist had one of his many knee op`s on Xmas eve so I had to sit down at one point whilst he stayed standing for the whole gig, both our knees are bloomin sore today but we got the gig done.
  22. Great head, looks like my old one I got from @DGBass? Either way great bit of kit and good price with the cab. GLWTS.
