  1. Our guitar player recently bought a AKG wireless unit for his guitar. It worked really well when he went out into the crowd with no dropout. I`m fed up with standing on cables as I tend to move around a bit when space allows so I`m thinking of getting the same model. Would it cause any problems with the 2 of us using the same type of units on a gig? I know sod all about these things so forgive me if this is a daft question Link to product below. 2. I don`t think the pickup and electronic are the same as the US models, some of them have the same electronics as the Sub range according to Lowendlobster.
  3. @Jono Bolton Re the wide ABM head. I owned a 500 a few years back and speaking to Dave he explained that the "wide boy head" as he called it, was due to Ashdown running out of the normal sized casings and having the casings lying around from the combo`s which are wider so they just stuck the chassis in them. Simples!
  4. Buy one of the Sterling Sub`s for around £400. Not only are they a really good bass out the box but if you install an EMG pickup with the wiring, a fake transfer if you so desire and either add a set of mutes for the older MM`s to the bridge or try and source a bridge that suits, for an additional £200 - £300 you will have an exc bass. Add me to the £2000 MM list please!
  5. Just bought a pedal from John via a meet up and what a thoroughly nice chap he is, a credit to the forum. Thanks again Gerry
  6. Putting up with two utters tossers in the band at different times for far too long. Apart form that, nowt.
  7. Glad you got the wiring problem sorted as that pickup can peel paint off the doors at full pelt!
  8. I recently bought an EMG Geezer Butler P pickup. Passive and comes with all the wiring, all you do is connect the earth with a crimp thing that comes with it. Sounds great in the house but yet to crank it through a loud amp. I realise that it`s not an active pre but I have owned a couple of active P basses in the past and ended up playing them in passive mode as I though it sounded better.
  9. @martthebass Try Award Session. They will make you any cable quickly, great quality at a decent price. I have been using their cables for years and have never had one fail yet. Kiss of death I know
  10. Sold a pickup to Karl, great guy to deal with and prompt payment. Thanks!
  11. We are booked into a well know Glasgow pub in the middle of January, 3 x 45 mins sets for £280. It is our first time there and if we go down well, the next time the money will go up. Most places in the West of Scotland pay £250 to £300 but some only pay £200 and are taking the p*ss. When I started gigging in 2005, we were getting the same money as we do now, it must be the only industry where inflation seems not to exist.
  12. Just buy it if you are a fan at all. Bear in mind that the Kindle edition is in the original French but this edition of the book is in English.
  13. Fender Player P bass loom and pickup ready to install, you just need to attach the wire from the bridge to the wire from the input. £40 delivered to UK mainland or collect and I will knock off the postage.
  14. Great player, just watch this clip form the BBC.
  15. @RitchieRich where abouts are you located? If one of the members on here is local to you, someone will help you out. We are a friendly bunch ya know!
  16. D H L Better know as Drop, Hide, Lose
  17. TC Spectra drive di pedal. Great bit of kit with Spectra comp and drive built in, aux in and headphone out. Comes with the original power supply and box all in exc condition. Price is £110 posted in the UK or I will knock off the postage if you want to collect form Paisley.
  18. Just don`t order them yourself from G&L. They might charge you £50 postage! I would ask one of our US members to get you them and send them across.
  19. To the op. Re your other thread, yes a pa cab will do the biz. I use a RCF 715 but any decent 12" or 15" pa cab will do, Yamaha, QSC, etc. I stick a Sans amp in front of it, play in a loud rock band and have used it as a monitor and as my backline with no problems. But a decent one will cost you from £450 and upwards if bought new.
  20. Lovely bass, great colour combo. GLWTS Yes you can buy a plate from the Sandberg online shop but if you are in the UK, they don`t post to us! You need to order it through a authorised Sandberg dealer. They will get you one but only usually when they are getting a delivery of basses. It`s bloomin mental. Or get someone from Ireland to order it for you. They ain`t all that expensive either.
