  1. We played a pub in Glasgow city centre on Sat and they want 3 x 45 mins sets. Personally I would rather do 2 x 1 hour and a bit as it easier to keep the punters on side.
  2. There`s a nice BB 404 second hand in Richtone for £149. https://richtonemusic.co.uk/yamaha-bb-404-bass-wine-red-2nd-hand/
  3. This exactly. If you want to be in a covers band that actually does gigs (some like the idea but end up being a rehearsal band) and gets asked back then you have to compromise over song choices. I was in a band and a guitarist left with the severe hump as we wouldn`t do a version of One by U2 as it died on it`s derriere every time we played it. Likewise I didn`t join a band after the drummer said that he hated Oasis and refused to play any of their songs. It`s the entertainment business and if you want to make a go of it, give your audience what it wants to hear not what you like.
  4. Ta guys!
  5. So I was tuning up my BB 1100 the other day and noticed that the bottom piece of the peg seems to have separated from the main part. I have owned a few older BB`s and haven`t seen this. As I know that these can be hard to get, does anyone have any ideas?
  6. Oooh, rolled fingerboard edges, which you can have on a Sire P bass for less than half the price and the return of rosewood but apart from that not much difference from the old models. And £839?
  7. As I told Dave a few weeks back, I played with the Led Zep cello band around 2019. They are very good and it`s something different but it took them bloomin ages to soundcheck!
  8. When my band needed a pa due to guitar boy legging it along with his pa, I mentioned it to the band that we could all chip in for a new one. Cue tumbleweed rolling across the desert. I managed to get the cash together to buy a set up and so I own the lot, if it all ends at least I won`t have the problems that the op has had. It can be such a minefield regarding who owns what and how to divvy it up if it folds so I`m glad that you managed to get it resolved.
  9. Nah don`t worry, Scott is good!
  10. Just waiting for the price increase which will no doubt arrive along with an "improved design"
  11. So some poor sod has currently bid £480 on a second hand Sterling SUB worth about £240?
  12. If you need a powered speaker that will cover as a your backline in a decent sized pub without going through the pa, get a RCF 715 or similar. I have been using one for a while in a loud rock band with a loud drummer and 2 Marshall valve amps and it does the job easily. The beauty of the RCF is you just plug in your choice of pre amp and the built in FIRPHASE tech does the rest. I bought a Ashdown ABM 500 1 x 15 combo a few months back for sentimental reasons and it was heavier and no where near as loud as the RCF so the Ashdown is now gone. I would recommend that you buy a decent make such as RCF, Yamaha, QSC etc.
  13. I have now got some carboard and can stick it in a gig bag for protection. I will post on a 48 hour service in the UK for £300 or £290 collection.
  14. Nah your right, that is pug ugly.
  15. As long as you are using the pa to do the main sound out front and are using the Headrush as a monitor, it will be fine. I haven`t used the Boss or Zoom but I imagine it will do the job. I think it is/was @gafbass02 that used a similar set up? Could be wrong though.
  16. Bought a P bass from Dave, had a good chat with him about all things bass related and got a crackin bass for a good price. Top man!
  17. Sire U5 short scale bass for sale only. As new condition, alder body, flamed maple top, neck edges are rolled so really comfy, Jazz sized neck, fitted with a brand new set of Ernie Ball flats, original rounds are included, weight is 7.9 lb`s. It`s a bit more yellowish in real life than it looks in the photo`s, see clip.
  18. I know that the Sterling SUB models had a very hot pre amp but they were 2 band and I`m guessing that yours is a 3 band? Have you tried turning the volume down to say 3/4 and seeing if the distortion goes away? A bit obvious I know.
  19. Here we have a M2000 project. The active developed a fault a while back so I replaced it with a passive circuit and while I was at it, removed the back pickup as I wanted a L1000 set up. Madness I know but it seemed like a good idea at the time I loaned it out for a while but got it back and I have no need for it so here we are. The body is in good condition, just a few small marks, as is the neck. The 3 small knobs are where the active controls were, they have pots in there just to hide the holes and are not connected to anything. The 2 large knobs are the volume and treble. The bass plays fine in this passive set up. The piece of plastic hides the hole for the second pickup which I no longer have. I wired the passive set up myself but as I`m crap at soldering, you would be better to have the electrics re done hence the low price. Weight is 8.2 lb`s, I would prefer collection but if you want it posted for an extra £10, I will send it with the neck detached so bear this in mind. Please remember this is being sold at a silly price as a project. Paypal f^f or bank transfer.
  20. Had one a few years back, weighed as much as a small house! Was that the one from Richtone? It looked in very good nick.
  21. Jim bought a pedal from me, good guy to deal with, recommended. Ta
