Will at BB had 2 nice BB110`s in stock, a natural Jap one and a made in Taiwan metallic black one for £400. To be honest I don`t really have a use for the BB but I have loved them since owning one in the past so got the black one. In great condition, just a few wee dings and sounds great. I have always loved the BB`s P pickup. It has a Babicz bridge which might not be staying as I prefer the BBBOT. I will stick a pic up later.

Which companies are dead to you?

Kwik fit. Around 2005 my wife took our Ford Focus in for its mot. They said to her it needed £600 worth of work as the brake disc, drums on the back, pads and shocks needed changed. Took it to a local garage that was recomended by a friend and it passed its mot easily. And the garage has looked after our cars ever since. The mechanic in my local place said that KF were notorious for trying to rip folk especially women off. -

What is the minimum power needed for a Pub Band?
jezzaboy replied to thebrig's topic in PA set up and use
The figures for those Alto speakers are nonsense. Will they be loud enough for your pub band? I would imagine so. I spent the last week going back and forward with all the 12 inch speakers that were in my budget and have bought a set of Yamaha DBR 12`s. There is so much info regarding the pros and cons of various makes but having used a lot of Yamaha kit in the past and the fact that you get a 4 year warranty, I went with those. Haven`t had the chance to use them with the band but I have used them in the house with music playing through them and they sound great. I would love a set to use as a hi fi. I don`t think you can go wrong with Yam, Alto, etc. -
The new ones look nice.

And this is exactly where I am at the moment! Bought a Behringer mixer with 4 mic inputs and 4 stereo inputs, paired with 2 x 12 Behringer tops. But on the last big pub gig we did using their pa with Yamaha 12 inch DBR`s and a desk with loads of inputs, I ended up with 4 x vocals, drum kit and 2 guitars all through the pa and this is the way we are gonna go. So I`m looking at the 12 inch Alto TS 412`s or the pricier but better reviewed Yamaha DBR 12`s and a new mixing desk with plenty of inputs. Then put everything through the pa. It`s going to cost me a few bob but I reckon it`s the way to go. An expensive lesson.

I recently bought a Boss wireless and I needed a larger board so it doesn`t get damaged hanging off the small board so got this one off of Amazon for £36. The cool thing is it has a cover on the bottom to store the power supply. Exc value for the money. Anyway I usually use the Sadowsky plugged into the ART tube amp into my RCF, I had the space for the Sansamp so stuck it on there if I fancy a change. The Beringher was cheap as chips and I was gonna spend a few bob on a better one but it does the job and I might not notice the difference anyway! Sorry for the dust.

End of an era… Award Session to close in a couple of months…

Same here, got a cable off them last week. That`s me buggered as they make great cables at decent prices. Still the man deserves to enjoy his retirement. -
In my experience if you buy from the big box shifters, Thomann, Andertons etc unless it is a quite expensive bass/guitar, the item will come in the factory sealed box so they don`t go near the set up. You do seem to have had a bit of bad luck though so hopefully it will get resolved soon.

I would just like the chance to actually buy a G&L US or Tribute at the moment! They seem rather thin on the ground.

Another option could be an EMG that comes with all the gubbins attached as below. A bit more expensive but I use it for gigging fitted in a Sterling Sub and it`s great. https://www.thomann.de/gb/emg_mmcs.htm

I fancied getting a bass amp again so picked up a nice Ashdown ABM 500 15" combo. Took it down to the studio along with my RCF 715 and a/b them. And the RCF gave the ABM a damm good spanking. Whilst the ABM was well cranked, the RCF was barely running at halfway. We played MacSorley`s in Glasgow last Friday and I just used the RCF and it filled the room easily against a Marshall and Peavey valve amps . Just shows you, sometimes you shouldn`t go back!

I went to buy something from them that was "in stock" which it was, in their Swedish Hub! But I have used them a few times and the fact that you can order stuff late on a Saturday to get it on Sunday is good for those impulse buys.

That £250 bass has more shielding in the cavity than a G&L I paid £1350 for! Looks really nice and quite versatile. -
Naw, I`m pretty sure thats the new shape 24 fret job that no bugger seems to be buying as Andertons have dropped the prices about £200.

You keep the one that long? Lightweight
