1.
Well that's what happens when younger bass chatters put down Jaco. Blue
I'm 25 and I can't say I've ever seen anyone put down Jaco, stop blaming the youth you old fogey! Maybe the shredder phase has passed but Billys playing with Winery Dogs is immense, nothing cheesy or 80's about it. Like LewisK said, he serves the songs incredibly well whilst still having his flash moments.
 2. Unless they've changed it I've always found the neck on my Sandberg on the chunky side, it's quite close to the neck on my P thinking about it (but a flatter FB radius). So if you're dead set on a skinny neck you might not get on with it - but try it out first for sure!
 3.
Cheers for that, i did want to use them, but est delivery was 1 week, how was delivery for you?
Yeah, delivery is about 1 week-ish. I'm never in any rush to get them though.
Do you play any slap?
Lo-riders will, in theory, be higher tension to Sunbeams due to being hex core strings. Sayin' that I don't have any problems with slapping, on both 34" and 35" but I've been using higher tension strings for about 2 years now so i've kinda grown used to them
 4. I use the exact same strings on my Lull, always have to get them from an amazon seller - Clicky here! Price has gone up about £7 since I last ordered some though!
 5.
Looking forward to seeing them play London in September!
+1 from the vids I've seen it looks like it's gonna be an awesome night!
 6. FWIW Warwicks Chrome finishes aren't actual chroming. It's some sort of special laquer, contains silver apparently... I'm guessing it's pretty pricey though! Here's a very very brief vid on their youtube;
 7.
Towards the end of the year I'm seeing Yob and Black Cobra. Should be pretty loud and heavy.
I'm hoping to get to the B'ham date for that!
 8.
No doubt left handed not produced :'(
Feelin' your pain, does look lovely!
 9. I saw em last night in Brum for the warmup show, wondered the same thing. Still thought they were good though!
 10.
No need to rain on my parade.
I'm not sure he was, it came across to me that he was just shocked that it left the factory with the wrong neck on for the model. Cool bass though and a cool little story to go with it, a non-custom shop custom Fender! Grats!
 11. Though it doesn't directly answer your question... but the best live bass mix I've ever heard was Nick Fyffe with his band The Temperance Movement. He just uses a REDDI for FOH signal and uses his Fender Bassman rig as a monitor of sorts, I couldn't see a cab mic anywhere. I've seen them a few times in various different sized venues (most recently main stage at a major music festival) and each time his tone was just on point - probably the only time I've been to a loudish gig and been able to hear the little bass tone nuances you hear on a recording. So for me, if I had the cash, i'd definitely invest in a nice DI!
 12. I love my Jazz and my P equally... do I get a cookie?
 13.
My preference is for a great sounding bass rather than a versatile bass.
I think I'm with you on that, I hold a strong belief that a bass is only as versatile as the player. Any bass of any pick-up configuration can do any genre really but it's the player and what he does with it that really makes it work!
 14. Just noticed that it's been updated now! http://shop.fender.com/en-US/mod-shop/ They've took a lot of options out though - No block & bound necks, vintage style bridges and case type from a quick glance. But still, it's a lot more options than the standard American range currently offer me and my fellow lefties!
 15.
Hah, that was serious Spinal Tap as they swapped it for a DI and he only got to play the last note of the first song! It was great after that though.
Yeah, they got there in the end though! Shame the set was so short though - I caught their full set at Desertfest earlier in the year and it was probably the single most intense gig I've ever been to. It was like being punched in the face repeatably for 1 1/2 hours
 16.
I'm a sound engineer and attended this year- best mixes I heard were Kadavar and Electric Wizard on the Maverick Stage, Rival Sons, Monster Truck, Royal Republic and Sabbath on main and Billy Talent on second. Bass was audible in all of those in varying crowd positions.
Electric Wizard really?! Even when he wasn't playing as his amp went kaput?
 17. The PA had been crackling on and off ever since it hammered down on Friday afternoon and probably wasn't 100%. The Mix was alright IMO, considering everything they had to deal with and I was half was up the hill.
 18. Based on what's around I'd say maybe £800 is a touch high, maybe low £700 would be about right (from the lefties i've seen come up anyway). Defintely not just a funk machine though, the first Rage Against the Machine record was recorded with a Stingray! Also Brian Marshall from Alter Bridge is a fan of the Stingray 5 (amongst many other people). If you've got nothing to loose, go try it out!
 19.
Maybe they`ll be like Benjamin Button and get newer looking, until finally completely pristine.
It's the only logical conclusion really!
 20.
Impressive work. The end result was great, just needs a proper 60's tort guard.
+1 Cool vid though, shows that even a humble P bass requires a fair bit of work! (Nobody mention the decal.... )
 21. Generally J-Retros are pretty highly spoken of but if you can't live without a proper passive tone control I'd sell it on and get a passive loom to put in it. After struggling for over a year with a bass without a tone control I eventually had to replace the 3-band pre with a 2-band so I could fit a proper tone control on the front!
 22.
Really crappy thing to happen to anyone! Can i ask though, do you have an address for him? The one i'm guessing you sent the bass to? Surely that's enough to either go and look for it or to give to the police? Hope something gets sorted for you
That would be a good start, even it isn't their house (which I suspect it probably isn't) they must at least know the occupants and vice versa. It's probably ill-advised to go after it yourself but knowing how under-resourced the Police are nowadays I doubt they'd be of much use, unfortunately Hope it somehow finds it's way back into your hands though!
 23.
ooH, where are Vulfpeck playing?
They're doing 3 nights at the Brooklyn Bowl at the o2 edit/ Here's the link; http://www.brooklynbowl.com/london/music
 24. Next ones for me are Download Festival next week, ZZ Top mid June, Vulfpeck in Sept and then Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats in November or December! I've got my eye on a few others too!
 25. Wow, that's cool! How small is Sheryl Crow? or are these just massive?
