1.
Im a little confused JT.?
I think he's saying that Verdine uses a supplemental musician and/or backing tracks when "playing" live... ...but to me it doesn't take away from the studio stuff he's laid down, the guy has paid his dues! The song in the OP shows this!
 2.
This is more interesting, IMO. She's clearly very talented. http://youtu.be/qCIpqwJe-6o
I can't see how people would think that with what she shown in the first video that she somehow couldn't just sit back and groove like this. An immense talent for sure and still very young!(although she's 18 now I think)
 3.
No, I think he's just lost his way a bit. Dropout's an incredible album. It's essential listening for anyone that likes hip-hop. I suspect he'll take a break and then come back in a few years with a groundbreaking album.
There could be some truth in that... http://www.nme.com/news/kanye-west/91481 Though I honestly can't tell if he's just parodying his perceived public image for a laugh or if he just has the mother of all god complexes (and maybe mentally unstable?) Doesn't bother me either way, I like his earlier stuff and i'll leave it at that.
 4. Might be worth noting that I don't think you can order a brand new Sandberg in the old shape anymore, so it might be harder to get a hold of 1 if that's what you wanted!
 5. I've got big love for Chris, 1 of my top albums last year without a doubt!
 6.
I don't know, maybe ? Have you read the Fender bass book ? It's interesting.
Coupled with the fact that it's a lefty as well, I doubt i'll ever know but i'll check out that book anyway - Thanks!
 7.
Just found this. http://fenderbasspla...g-a-fender-bass
Hmmm, interesting. The neckplate on my P dates to '72 but the pots are early '71 and neck is Feb '71. Couldn't find a clear dates on the PU's. Surely they wouldn't just have a neck floating around for nearly a year would they? or are neckplate dates fairly inaccurate?
 8. Must be pretty widespread as Fender have their own branded rubber washers but if you don't get to drink beer to get them, what's the point?! http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_strap_blocks.htm
 9. I feel like a bit of baby now, I'm only 24!
 10.
Going to the Country 2 Country festival at the o2. Will be seeing Eric Church, the unbelievably awesome Chris Stapleton... and some others I guess.
Oh man, so jealous - Chris Stapleton's album was 1 of my most played last year, big fan of his Steeldrivers stuff too! I've got a fair few gigs lined up thinking about it - Black Stone Cherry, The Cadillac Three and Winery dogs all next week. Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats later this month then Joe Bonamassa, The Cult, Reef, Wolfmother, ZZ Top and Chris Cornell all down the line somewhere. And with Iggy Pop releasing tickets tomorrow for the Royal Album Hall i'll definitely be going to that then Download Festival and possibly DesertFest too. So a lot to keep me going!
 11. A polish guy brought my old Hartke combo, travelled all the way up from just outside of the M25 to Brum to collect. Wasn't until he was stuck in traffic that it was revealed that the person I had been talking with was his wife as he couldn't speak a word of English. Red flags went off, something smelled dodgy - was panicking from then on. He eventually turned up at about 12.45am and.... turned out to be a real nice guy. Had a conversation (more like charades really) about how he had the same amp in Poland but couldn't bring it over and also about the escaped cows that had shut down the M40 for 5 hours. Funny how we always jump to the worse conclusions eh? Glad it all worked out for you though!
 12. Out of interest have you used any other strings with that bass? String tension can vary quite a bit between manufacturers - even when gauges are the same. Also Eb tuning isn't particularly low either so i'd imagine the tension would be pretty high with DDT's so I'd probably say the 45 set would do. Although I've no experience with DDT's. I personally use DR Nickel Lo Riders as I find them to be higher than normal tension compared to other strings I've used. They handle Eb fine!
 13.
He does have a very valid point though. Where else are such high levels of distress/relicing thought to be such a good thing?
A bit off topic but there's a whole scene devoted to distressed looking cars, it's called "rat rodding". My brother had a colleague with a VW bus which he painted with oxidising paint so that it would deliberately look rusty. Looks pretty cool (imo) on those old American pick up trucks! Mighty fine looking P that though!!
 14.
Also on the 'quite expensive P bass' list must also be this from Warwick, retailing at a mere €5,697.45. Does look pretty cool though to be fair although YMMV of course. Adam Clayton – Signature model http://shop.warwick....yton#fromSearch
$5,697.45 for a passive P?! I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. I think the Fodera looks nice though, I like the plain look about it - not too overstated but still very Fodera-y. At least you're paying for a truly handcrafted instrument, which makes the cost justifiable imo.
 15. I'm just passing by but damn, that first 1 track is catchy as hell! I'd quite happily listen to an albums worth of this sort of stuff!
 16. This kinda reminds me of the automatic pepper grinder we have at home - a solution looking for a problem!
 17.
Must buy the new Clutch as the scoundrels haven't put it on Spotify
You won't regret it! For me the self titled debut from Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, recommend by a friend as "I think you'll like these". Almost played it daily since they told me! Chris Stapletons debut is worth a mention too.
 18. Love these guys and Jack Stratton's quirkiness! Did anyone get on the crowdfunding for the last album?
 19. Slightly off topic but PMT Brum do Aguilar stuff now? Only ever used to be Ashdown/Ampeg/Hartke gear, so never really bothered going in too much. My office is like a 5 minute walk from there so might pop in more often if they do. Hope it all gets sorted though!
 20.
We had tickets to see them when Patrick hurt his shoulder and they cancelled the whole European leg of their tour. Never rescheduled. Dave Grohl broke his bloody leg and came back and performed! Black Keys music, great, attitude, pish!
I'd imagine it's easier playing guitar with a broken leg than it is playing drums with a disclocated shoulder, even if it is only Meg White-esqe stuff. Although I've seen BK twice and both times I had an awesome time. Bad gigs for me were probably Kiss and Motley Crue at this years Download fest, lots of fire and jumping about but just a bit crap really - if I could of left I probably would have.
 21. I always find playing them in helps, getting a bit of finger funk on the strings greases them up a little bit! If you want to speed that process up, rub your fingers in the crease of your nose to pick up the oils that kinda collect there. Nose grease - It'll make your strings super slippy! (though probably not the most hygienic method!)
 22.
Cory Henry and the Funk apostles in Birmingham last sunday night. Brilliant....what live music should be (for my ears at least)
I was there too! It wasn't what I expected but was brilliant nonetheless! Saw Gary Clark Jr last night in Camden, 2nd time this year... totally blown me away both times!!
 23. DR Strings are made extra long (though they don't label them as such) so should fit through body if that's what you're after? Can't confirm on a Stringray but I do use DR's on my 35" scale Lull and they fit perfectly when top loaded
 24. There's a pic of the rear of the headstock on their wesbite, not sure if it helps but i'm putting it out there! http://angeldust-guitars.com/fender-precision-1974-natural/
 25.
If it was his recent appearance I'm pretty sure it was Guy Pratt...
100%! The burgundy mist Jazz is a dead giveaway!
