1. It's strange as it's on his Official Twitter, Facebook and Website. Surely someone in the JB PR camp would check before posting? Very sad news indeed if it's true, Tales of Brave Ulysses was one of the tracks that made me want to play.
2.
If I could find a fancy blue topped 55-94 for £2500 it would already be on one of my hooks! Where should I be looking? Ive seen 10 year old used ones go for around £2500.
It's shame you're not a lefty! http://bassdirect.co..._55_94_USA.html I've been looking into Laklands as this 1 has had my eye for a while, so this topic is quite useful... hopefully Santa will be generous this year
3. I highly recommend these guys, caught them on their double headline tour with Scorpion Child (also awesome!) a month or so ago - they smashed it! He also rocks a stunning F Bass!
4. +1 Michael League, saw Snarky Puppy about a month or so ago - Went for the music, stayed for the bass faces haha. Also an honorable mention is Danyel Morgan from the Robert Randolph band. Check out the bass face @ ~2:25
5. Something like this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006FNCWSY/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_ILxRtb05Y0YCK
6. Got my ticket for wolvo, have been listening to Richie Kotzen's solo work. Absoloutely screaming player! So much talent for 20-odd quid a ticket, bargain!
7.
...and any lefty info?
I didn't see anything but from what I've seen PRS don't make anything lefty without it being custom ordered first, so I'd say it's extremely unlikely... one can hope though eh?
8. Just had a trawl through there Facebook announcement thread looking for lefty info and found the price point is $749-$799. They do like nice though :-)
9. Every time I see 1 of these I weep a little inside as they don't do llefty version. Gorgeous Bass, congrats!
10.
So, the cabs in the picture, are they the standard option? I can see there are lots of different vinyl/ grill cloth options available.
Not everything is standard, I added a few extra options. The grey/black cloth is an extra (this includes the surround with the embedded logo which isn't standard) and I also chose the option to have them vertically stacked. All the standard finishes are on the home page of the tks website Cheers though guys, they are definitely lookers!
11. This is slightly delayed as I received them about 3/4 weeks ago, i've just been so side tracked recently I haven't gotten round to sharing them! Here are my 2 new S112's from TKS Engineering (based in Sweden); First impressions are that they are very well built and at 10kg each they're a pleasure to lug around. Have taken them rehearsal and i'm really impressed with them - really nice punchy mids, with a tight low end. I opted to have them tweeter-less so the high end isn't as pronounced but you can still get some nice 'twang' out of them with some eq'ing. Pretty loud for 2 x 12" speakers too! Having never ordered a set of cabs before, Tommy (owner) was a real gent to deal with! After a build time of 2 weeks, I received an email that they were complete but he also told me that he'd had an accident and that he'd be out of the workshop for a few days. But instead of waiting till he'd healed up to send em - he packed them up and his workshop neighbours took them in and handed them over to UPS the following day. He even thrown in a free speakon cable as they were a day or so late dispatching. Pairing them with the TH500 I brought off of here, I think it looks the dogs! Overall i'm dead happy!
12. Here's a quick sneak peak of my pair of S112's that I received last week, I'll probably get a NCD thread up over the weekend to share my full experiences and i'll post a couple pictures of my own! Here's the pic Tommy sent me before they shipped
13. I thought the key ring's were for holding picks? but what you've done with it is pretty nifty! I've got the Lemmy/Iron Cross strap but all of the emblems have peeled off, bit strange they didn't sew them on. ho hum, super glue sorted it out! Wouldn't hesitate getting another, super soft and comfy!
14.
Dingwall won't build any lefties, unfortunately, but Mayones do!
I'd quite happily eat 50p noodles for a year or 2 if they considered making the Super P in lefty! Those Mayones' are pretty tastey too!
15. Lovely looking bass congrats! I don't know if it's standard procedure but my 'berg has the serial written on the underside of the pickguard too, so might be worth checking?
16. He's just jamming, I don't think it should be seen as anything more than that really. It's nice to see someone try something different, regardless whether it adds anything to the original track. You should check his 'get lucky' vid, he completely nails it (imo) But yeah, the 90 degree thumb freaks me out too haha
17. Brought his TH500 off him, great communication all the way through and fast shipping/delivery! I wouldn't hesitate dealing with him again, a true gent!
18.
How do you know which strings to buy if you would like higher tension?
From my experience, strings with hex core's are generally higher tension than those with round cores. My actions pretty low but I get buzz on the E towards the low G/F# area, bugs the hell outta me acoustically but amped up sounds no different. So I guess it's a love hate relationship with me
19. My tutor is Dave Clarke, awesome player and a really nice guy! http://www.dcbass.co.uk/
20. Heh, was reading about this song the other day! Here's another article that explains the current situation. Well I say current purely based on the publishing date haha; http://dangerousminds.net/comments/sting_puff_daddy_andy_summers_and_the_case_of_the_misplaced_bajillion_dolla
21. If I had it right now it'd definitely be this; http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/left_guitars_detail.asp?stock=px-KT174NY10148#main-product-overview I've not seen many maple board/white block Fenders in lefty before and this 1 looks pretty tastey!
22.
just read that Macca does everything else right handed, but couldn't play guitar till he switched it round, is this true? and am I a narcissist for quoting myself?
I'm pretty sure that he is a 'true' lefty, see link below. http://www.beatlesagain.com/breflib/lefthand.html Though I think my bass tutor mentioned that he's actually right-handed but plays lefty.
23. Having an aged Sandberg myself, I'm in the hot category! Main reason I had it relic'd, other than looking pretty cool, is because it was my first £1k+ bass purchase and I'd be horrified if had dropped it and scuffed it within the first month or so (which I did anyway haha) This way, I don't have to worry about scuffing it AND it will always look brand new!
24. Hello! First time poster but been a lurker for a while Here's my southpaw Sandberg TT4 Passive - Hardcore Aged. Arrived late May and I absolutely love it! ....and the customary crappy phone pic!
