1.
Thanks for all the replies, really appreciated and special mention to yellowcar for trying to reign me in :-) It has worked out great in the end as, all being well, I should have Ant's Matamp 112 sometime soon!
Any time. And congrats on the new acquisition! Look forward to reading the review
 2.
I've got one of those harley benton things, and the cabinet is actually pretty big. That Hartke looks much smaller! If I was gonna go for a house cabinet, I would be looking at something ALOT smaller. Surely a single 1x10 would suffice? Saying that, it might be just as cheap getting the 2x10.
That's what it boils down to - those HB 2x10's (despite being big) are dirt cheap. If I was buying compact and money was no object I'd probably go 1x12 but (aside from ant's bargain Matamp) they don't really exist at the £100ish price point today.
 3.
24th August Cross Scythes Woodseats (3pm) The rest are evenings... 31st August the Hop (Shef) 19th September the Cremorne (Shef) 24th Septembr the Green Room (Shef) 1st November Shakespeares (Shef)
That takes me back! Lived and gigged in Sheffield for 4 years. I ran the acoustic night at what was 'Olive' on Division St (now Gatsby) for 2 of those years.
 4. Bought a set of Ernie Balls from Jimmy at a bargain price. Quick postage, great comma throughout. Would buy again without hesitation.
 5. Very nice! Love the idea of the switch, and look forward to pictures of the finished article! ...Also, drop me a PM if you plan on getting rid of the original pickups.
 6.
It's finished! Just waiting for delivery now :-)
Wow!!! Some sound clips would be hugely appreciated once it does arrive. I'm still toying with the idea of a Limelight P in the future
 7.
I had a quick noodle on one of Grand Wazoo's Dingwalls at the Herts bash - not as weird as I thought it would be...
Likewise, and I'd only ever played a fiver once or twice before so it should've been a double whammy. It was actually really comfortable!
 8. Pastel every time - surf green or sonic blue if you want my two penneth. However I don't think the ocean turquoise picture does the colour justice - I've seen some really stunning examples in the past!
 9.
The Harley Benton fits the bill nicely...but, Lozz, I do like the idea of the SVT210AV. In fact, there's a GK115 Neo in the sale section which I keep looking at, not a match but cool looking!! I might need to revise my budget. Bloody GAS!!!!!
Not sure how much difference you would notice at bedroom levels - reign it in!
 10.
Thanks again for the advice Chris, i'll see what money i have left over from getting whichever amp i end up getting an i may get a BDI21. Can't see it being too bad for that price
The BDI21 is a cracking bit of kit. Best £20 you could spend on your tone.
 11. Couple of options from Thomann: http://www.thomann.de/gb/hartke_210_tp.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_bb210t.htm Not quite sub-£100 but still bargaintastic!
 12. Thanks Mark! I thought I had started this in General Discussion rather than the Bass section, could someone move it?
 13. The last few weeks I've been hankering after playing in a band again, but I'm a little bit lost as to where to start. All of my musician friends are up north, and I don't really know any folk in London who play (amazing right?) So where do I start? What's the best way for me to find a bunch of like-minded people to make noise with?
 14. Think I might be having one of those.
 15.
For various reasons I can't properly play at the moment so when I'm all good to play again I'll describe a bit more about how they sound!
That sounds serious! I hope whatever it is doesn't keep you out of action too long! Look forward to hearing the full review.
 16. It has 4 strings again!!! The truss rod needs a bit of tweaking to get it playing REALLY nicely, but regardless it sounds lovely!
 17. Nice! How do they compare to the originals? I imagine they're quite a bit warmer/have more thump to them?
 18. Just saw this on FB. Bargain!
 19.
I also had a lot of hum/buzz in my 78, so shielded the cavity and pickguard with tape. Took about an hour and now no buzz at all. Time well spent.
This first! I had the same trouble with a Squier P a while back and just shielding tape on the pickguard did the trick.
 20.
Yess! That's what I needed - an excuse!
I'm just thinking of your health and future well being
 21. Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!
 22.
Now I've got GAS for a V4B. Even though I already have a Burman MPA and SL100. Duh!!
Might save your back a bit!
 23. 6/10 isn't bad I don't think.
 24.
Some surprising results....
To say the least!
 25. What a day! This was my first bash so I was a little unsure of what to expect, but low and behold I was greeted by a hugely friendly bunch of fellow Basschatters. Huge thanks to everyone involved in organising it, I had a brilliant time and will definitely be along to the next one. I also managed to catch c.25mins of the Modes seminar on video which I'm in the process of pulling from my iPhone now. Hopefully I'll be able to get it on to Dropbox to share with you all later. Thanks again! Dave
