Anyone who's ever had back issues will tell you how it can affect your quality of life. Why take the risk when you can get a great sound out of light gear?

Been using locks for the last couple of years - Schallers. They do the job, but if you move around a bit it is wise to check that nothing on the lock itself has come adrift.....

Not bad - bassline is quite groovy, but it lacks the grunt that RHCP used to deliver. I sort of lost interest after Blood Sugar Sex Magic and they got a bit too commercial for my taste. Don't blame 'em for that, though. Good luck to them - they've earned their success.

Is it possible to get along to BF mission control and try one out? Newton Abbot to Brighton isn't that big a shlep for the investment you're about to make. In other news... get one. I did. Frickin awesome!!

Similar claims have been made about The Eagles' Hotel California being a rip off of Jethro Tull's We Used To Know, but I don't think it ever went as far as court AFAIK. The general consensus among musos is that chord progressions were shared in the same manner as needles back in the day. Look at blues and rock'n'roll - I guess some stuff is considered more 'open source' than others. I can understand people getting upset about apparent 'plagiarism' though. I guess the debate will rumble on.... *shrug*

I play Jazz basses and Stingrays, depending on the band. A few minutes on either and I'm good to go...

General fitness will help, as will a bit of gym time if that is feasible. Doesn't have to be a big deal - even getting out on a bike in the fresh air for a couple of times a week would make a big difference. Use it or lose it, as they say. Diet is very important, too. Plenty of fresh veg, fruit, chicken and fish.

I look like a bulldog licking the p*ss off a thistle when I'm playing, plus I have a shaven head and I lift weights. I think I'd get more comments about my miserable demeanour if I looked a bit less intimidating

I've never owned one, but a couple of mates have Rickenbackers. They're great basses apparently. but not in my hands. Dunno why, they just don't feel right to me - not even as though I'd get used to it in time. *shrug*

The OP vid isn't representative of any other stuff I've seen her do. With Nitin Sawhney, she grooves like a badass. She's got some serious skills for sure.

Cool. I always have a good week's practising with the bass in question before taking it on stage. It's a good feeling to fire up a new bass!
