2.
ok, I will probably stop at page 25 or so (I'm on 5 )
I'd just read page 60 & then enjoy page 30 on Pt II Regardless of wattage, the RH450 is still a very good amp.
3. I have a few different ones, depending on the gig & how much room there is. So I put 6m, 10m, 10-15m & dont know, as a couple of them are just made up using another cable.
4. Fu uh hun keeee
5. I think the wine taste experiment was done with folk who haven't drank wine in their lives? I'm not a wine drinker, but I used to work in a hotel & got sent on a tasting course & there's a massive difference.

Pedal settings

When I'm using it, I have the chorus depth on full & the speed either right down so it just thickens up the sound or right up so it's wowowowowobbily. Closest thing I have to a flanger is the Bass Murf on LFO setting.
7. I think it should be John Cage whom plays it in it's entirity.
8. That has to be one of (if not THE) tidiest board I've ever seen. Now we need to hear what it can do!
9. Good to hear you're enjoying "The Waking" Bilbo, it's one of my faves too. Infact the whole album (Nightmoves) is superb. I'll add to the list: Unravel - Bjork Dream Operator - Talking Heads Great Is Thy Faithfulness - Fernando Ortega Grandma's Hands - Bill Withers
10. All the best with your 4 months away Doddy. It'll probably still be snowing when you come back.
11. I think you're going down the right route by looking at Barefaced. If I ever replace my combo, then I'd seriously consider BF. Ampwise, I'd take a look at Markbass. There's a good selection on here for bargain prices, from LMIIs to LM Tubes & a good selection of others. Also worth a look are GenzBenz, TC electronic & EA for small lightweight heads. If you're near Dunblane at all this coming Saturday, PM me & you can try my MB combo & see if it gives you any ideas.
12. I just got a 4' length of Auralex Platfoam from Studiospares & chopped it in half. Was gonna glue them onto a bit of board & carpet the top, but thought I'd just slide them under the cab at this coming gig & see how it is. It's a huge wooden box of a stage.
13.
I've found a tab for it now too race ya to the finish! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! You havn't come across a powertab or guitarpro version though have you?
I haven't found a powertab one as yet. There's a Songsster version, but it's in G & the root is on the 3rd fret of the E string.
14. I haven't got any of this current band. However, me, the singer/guitarist & the drummer are from a previous band called Frigorifico & we still do a good few of the same songs (Me & the Singer do all the writing). http://www.myspace.com/frigorific We're doing Minor Key Blues & Already There from that list. BigRoom is a little different from what it is on MySpace & we're not doing any of the songs that's on here... http://www.myspace.com/bigroomgb I'll get some recordings of this gig if I can. Edited to put a better link up (slightly better mixes).
15. I usually sound like I've never touched a bass before when I try one in a shop. I play an open note & then twiddle the knobs to see what they do. Then I just mess about playing notes & trying to get fret buzz or anything else that I don't want, then the assistant comes over & takes it off me.
16. Cheers 51, you made me late for work I youtubed "Bach cello suite 1 bass" & found this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7uyk9NANmY Spent the rest of the morning learning the 1st part of it. Gonna see if I can learn the full thing for Saturday's gig.
17. I like to play just a couple of long notes & slowly open the LPF as everything on the shelves rattle about Then it's maybe a little "Fur Elise" or some "Phat Planet" or "Angel" (Massive Attack). Just to make them go Ooh! I like that.
18. Quietest way to leave your band is by steering clear of the drumkit! If you enjoy your music I wouldn't leave. I'd have a word with your long term friends in the band & each of you say to the chap about his negativity. See if that changes him. If it doesn't, then you & one or 2 of the other members could start a "side project" & then leave the current band to focus more on it. Then at a slightly later date incorporate some other musicians, such as previous band members from a former band.
19. Put a fresh battery in your bass & take a spare. Make sure all your gear is sound & take a couple of spare leads & strings. If you have a spare bass, then great. I've never needed a backup bass in 20 odd years, but it's reassuring if there's one there. Print off a couple of copies of your setlist. Put one or two at the front of the stage (I usually have one either side of the singer) & give the drummer one (a setlist that is). Now go & enjoy yourself & all the best with it.
20. I've used my Markbass combo many times with my electro acoustic plugged into it. Sounds really good too & is probably the only time I have the treble on flat (usually back it off a bit for bass).
21. I completely missed that, despite reading through your add & thinking "how would I slip it past the wife". I think I need glasses! Sounds like a good price to me.
22. Trade, sell or free?
23. I've never been to your shop, but I did buy my MB combo from you when I first joined BC. Thanks for an excellent service when buying it & for a superb combo & all the best for what the future holds for you.
24.
I had the same problem with MIA and MIM, which to my mind meant 'missing in action' and 'metal injection moulded'....very educational place this basschat
& now you know it means Mexicans In America & Mexicans In Mexico.
25. & a boolzi boolzi bap.... zidi bap.
