1. Chunk Systems Brown Dog does a nice synthy/gated sound. Good luck finding one though... Iron Ether Oxide is another good option too.
2. Bump!
3.
Add the Wren & Cuff 'Phat Phuk B' & Solid Gold 'Beta' to your listening tests Si
+1 on the SolidGold Fx Beta. I have one on my board and it is the best low gain OD that I have ever played through. They have released their Beta Dlx with an added boost section and expanded EQ options which I will be getting my hands on very soon
4. Hi all, We are looking for a drummer for a serious project based in Brighton. You can find in the link below some demos that showcase the style of the band: https://soundcloud.com/user-517823524 If you are interested or know a drummer that would be, please feel free to drop me a line via basschat or send us an email to: "][email protected] Cheers, Byron
5. One of the best analog delay pedals out there. GLWTS
6. Amazing basses the Reggie Hamilton Sigs... I have the MIM version and it is one of the best Fenders I have ever owned. I can only imagine how good the CS version is compared to the MIM. GLWTS mate!
7. So tempting... must resist, must resist! "These are not the basses you are looking for..." Lovely P-combo you got there Tom, GLWTS!
8. EHX Bass Clone is not that expensive new and the youtube demo sounded really nice.
9.
Is Mac plying one in this photo of wings?
Macca used a BB1200 for some time.
10.
If ever you fancy selling that, let me know
This one is a keeper! lol
11. My '79 BB1200 is a P-Bass killer hands down... Lovely basses the BB series.
12. I have a bunch of Octave pedals and have tried many more over the years. My desert island octaver would be the EBS Octabass hands down. It always surprises me to see that none of the bass players that I follow (Juan Alderete, Janek Gwizdala...) never mention it. It tracks amazingly well when comparing it to my OC2,Octamizer or COG (which I also love) and the 3 voice switch really changes the character of the sound. I can go from a dubby/sub sound to a more punchy setting with the flick of the switch. There are so many options out there...
13.
Nice looking. Remind me...this is MIM? Also, if I remember the necks on these are slightly narrower at the nut then a standard American P Bass? Also, where are you located? Thanks, G
I believe that they are MIM and the neck is on the thicker side. The skinny P-Bass neck come on the Nate Mendel sig model. GLWTS, really cool bass with great features ( Badass, CS pick up... )
14. That's a really cool pedal. Would also like to see how it tracks on bass.
15. I bought a Keith McMillen 12-step from Wilco. Great chap, amazing communication and smooth operation. Will certainly do business again with him.
16. Thanks for the info!
17. Anybody knows of a UK forum similar to Basschat and The Fretboard to buy 2nd hand synth gear? Cheers!
18. Amazing BB1200. I have a '79 and it is a wonderful instrument. GLWTS!
19. Great info, thanks for sharing!

Ashdown CMT300

What's the flat EQ setting on the CTM/LB 30? I can never remember...
21. Great piece of kit the Countryman. I got one a few months back and I agree with all the above points. IMHO the preamp is the weakest part of the instrument and it is still quite decent. No build issues either on mine. I am also looking at the solid kala maybe with the roundwound strings that are now available as a great lightweight alternative! They never pop up 2nd hand though...
22. Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but I guess it is better than creating a new one. I am currently looking at getting my bass chops up to date as I feel that there are so many young "cats" out there that are killing it. SBL is one of the options I am looking at as with my work schedule paired up with gigs and rehearsals I am not sure if I could commit to a tutor on a regular basis. Just wanted to see if any others have tried it out and what are your thoughts? If you have any other recommendations I am open to suggestions. Cheers, Byron
