1. I gigged for many years with a Fender Bassman 100 (Transistor) 1×15" combo and I never needed anything else. I used to run it almost all the way up when in larger indoor stages, but usually if placed in a good location, I would be pretty ok in terms of volume & tone without pushing the power section too hard. Have in mind that I was up against a Twin Reverb and an AC30 and a loud drummer. Nowadays I downsized (weight wise) a little to a Markbass Little Rocker 500 into an Aguilar DB112 (8 Ohm) and my master is around 9-10 o'clock... so most probably if meassured, I'm sure that I'm putting out around 100-150 watts. I've done the SVT and DB750 outdoors and they are stupidly loud... dropped the master so much that I guess a 100 watt all valve head would have done the job beautifully. I would love to have an EBS T90 or a V4B... Perfect wattage for me.
2. Oh My Dog! I love this 4 string version! GLWTS mate!
3.
Are these photos of the actual bass you have for sale? I ask as they appear to be the same photos used to sell a big block on eBay a fortnight ago (which went for £299) and it got me wondering?
+1. BTW, what neck does the Big Block have? I think it's a P right? GLWTS mate.
4. My MIM Fender Reggie Hamilton J has a US P pup and a noisless J. Most probably it's a '62 or similar found on some of the MIM Specials from a few years ago. Still, a great price for a Fender pup.
5. Look at the flame on that neck...
6. Amazing cabs at an amazing price! Would you consider shipping them? Cheers
7. Welcome Mark! Nice to see you enjoyed the Costa Blanca (I was born in Alicante and lived in Benidorm for over 25 years). Cheers, Byron.
8. I really like the v2 models, I see them as a mix between a Fender and a Musicman body which I really like as it departs from the more than overdone P & J bodies from other manufactures.

UK-based Luthiers
Martin Dixon up here in Yorkshire (he's in Otley, near Leeds) is very highly recommended. I've not tried any of his work but he's really helpful, passionate and friendly. I think you can go and stay with him (B&B style) and make a bass together, which sound fascinating! http://m.wharfedaleo...al_work_of_art/ (I don't have his website, sorry!)
The B&B thing certainly does sound tempting... being able to be around while your instrument is being created is a cool experience.
I just had a beautiful bass made by Chris McIntyre, here in Edinburgh. Very very pleased with it.
That looks amazing! Liking the pup configuration too.
11. I believe that TI's will have slightly less tension that the FX's but very close compared to regular La Bella's which tend to be harder to bend (at least for me).
12. Did anyone else manage to try one out? I just can't get over the body... not for me at all.

Thank you so much for the list! That's going to keep me busy for a while! Cheers, Byron.
14. Hi all, Just wanted to ask if there is a topic around here or a "yellow pages" of luthiers where I could find the majority of the ones based in the UK. I am strongly thinking of having a custom based made in 2016 as I am a fed up of "off the shelf" stuff and I also fancy spoiling myself a little I am aware of a few like our own Alan @ AC Guitars which is currently one of my top selections, but would like to hear from your own experience. Cheers, Byron.
15. I followed John Davis for a while as I was into Nerve and JoJo Mayer's drum chops. As mentioned above, John and similar players' aproach is the modular synth path and create their "modules" by using pedals. There is other great fuzzes around, I use a Brown Dog as it has various flavours and a nasty gate too, but in the past I used the CoPilot Fx Orbit with great success. Rather than going for his sound, use what you have available but using the same aproach. There are some videos on Youtube where his older setups can be seen, I believe that he used a Line6 M9 for some of the filtering stuff (great digital unit btw), and to control all his midi gear he used a Moog MP 201 controller that is no longer in production. I would also add some modulation, tremolo and delay to my setups when playing electro/synth with my former band.
16. Great amp the T90, always wanted one.
17.
Spitfire - overseas and expensive, but doesn't get much better!
Thanks Dannybuoy! Had them on my radar already, they are certainly top notch. I just though we would have our own "National" counterpart over here...
18. Hi all, What manufactures would you recommend for aged guards for both P and J basses? Any UK based ones around? Cheers!
19. If you part out, I would be interested in the fully loaded body (no neck).
20. Lovely! Shame it's not a 4-string. GLWTS!
