2.
err... is it a bad thing i didn't notice the inlay till you pointed it out?
Really? i'm not a fan of extravagant inlays. Give me blocks or dots or not at all thanks!
3. Yeah i noticed it too, looks good for the price, but again, i wouldn't be caught dead playing that!
4. GIT!!! THAT WAS YOU? GRRRRRRRRRR Agh, i was really thinking about bidding on that one last night, but i didn't have the money. that's just ridiculous Grats though mate. Also i got an email from reverb, they're selling NEW rays for £750 in a sale... that aint gonna be good for people with theirs on ebay, as you can see. I think the time to buy is now. Which is a shame because i dont have any money and i'm having to sell my G&L (i know i only just got it) to buy a new pc Agh.
5. yeah that sounds pretty nice, go for it. I quite like a sort of dark cherry sparkly type paint job with black pickguard
6. If it wasn't for that tacky fretboard inlay i'd be rather attracted to that, tidy looking bass there
7. in response to the topic starter: Holy sh*t! (excuse my french)
8. i just bought a perfect 10 for £50, so i'd say if yours was in good condition, £70-£80?
9. Don't remove the negative feedback, it's his own fault and people should be aware. and make sure he knows that.
10.
I've seen so many people do 'the looper set' now. Mostly guitar-based. One was tuba-based! I'm really wondering if any bass players were refreshing the genre by doing it with the greatest instrument on Earth. I know Squarepusher used to.
Squarepusher? aren't they drill and bass?
11. Looks like the action will be nice and low on that!
12.
bongo, however, seems to be the versitile beast that everyone should go for, iv still yet to try one, but then again iv never talked to a person who has had a bongo who hasnt said how versitile that preamp is
There's a reason for that I've tried one, and yes the preamp was versatile, but a little confusing to someone like me who's used to a 2 band. It would take a fair bit of time to get the tone in your head out of that bass. That said the neck is fantastically fast! Its just the right profile for me, the action was super low on the one i tried too and the paint is matt so it's nice and smooth. Damn i want one now
13. I rather like V basses, but you have to have the right person playing, a weedy little bugger just wouldn't look right. I think that could look cool on the right person. Plus the maple top and paint job is just stunning. Also that's an insane price for a limited run of 25 custom basses! EDIT: pics of last year's?
14. My dad watched a guy in derby once that did that but he was a guitarist. A bassist that could pull it off properly and keep the crowd entertained for an hour or so would definitely have my respect.
15. Oh my god, that's insanely pretty!
16. And some people do actually buy some of his guitars/basses i'd imagine, just because some of them are ridiculously rare, albeit ridiculously overpriced. Dear lord though, that thing is atrocious!
17. Maybe in 4 moths time matey? (please? )
18. Why order one if your son has one?
19. I've just added a load of stuff up and including shipping, etc + £100 for import tax etc i'm looking at £700ish i think
20. £400? That's not half bad, i might get one around christmas time instead of a used stingray... I'm assuming a more kitted out bass would cost a fair bit more though EG figured maple top with back routing on a jazz body, seymour duncan jazz pickups, possibly a preamp... etc etc, i might get a quote later... hmmmmmmm much to think about! Only thing is, it would have to be the right bass for me because i wouldn't see much of that back on a sale...
21. Is it grounded properly at the bridge? Is it shielded properly?
22.
I'm sorry, but a lot of people are gonna ask this. £100.38? Is this an eBay transaction or direct sale from Warmoth? Even the Warmoth scratch/dent/overstocks (AKA Showcase) stuff wouldn't even get you a finished body for that price, let alone a neck and body. P
I'm assuming that was just the customs/import tax etc.
23. It's OBVIOUSLY all about this
24. my, that was a crafty bump sir! (a rather mouth watering one at that)
