These are genuine questions, I'm happy to learn something new to me. Why did you tune your bass sharp? Did the same rest of the band tune sharp or just you?

Just posted the above and then straight after loaded up the deko page on Thomanns site to see if anything interesting was up. What the hell is wrong with me?

My Jazz is here and at first quick look over its awesome. The only thing I can see that could cause deko status is most of the fret edges feel sharp, maybe they're like this anyway as at full price they're not exactly expensive. The body wood is lovely. From the front or back it really does look like one piece off wood, only looking at the end can you see the different pieces. The fretboard has some lovely figuring as well. I haven't plugged it in yet but only want the neck anyway so not too worried if the electrics are shot. The body would make a nice chopping board for the kitchen if sanded back to wood and oiled with something edible.

I got a €10 voucher for a review a few months back. It was for £300 item. There must be a limit to what they give vouchers for, I've ordered five other item to be sent with the Jazz but they only total £30 together. I'm sure I won't be able to review them in return for a €10 voucher for each one.

The other thing with fixing them for resale is that, I assume, any cosmetic flaws will be left as is.

I haven't looked but assume they're in Newquay. I have no problem with someone taking their chances on a deko, sorting any problems and selling it on with an honest description of what is. But the seller in Newquay is is being dishonest in my view. I work in the car trade and liken it to 'total loss' vehicles. If repaired properly there is nothing wrong with a written off car but it will never be worth as much as a non total loss. How would you feel buying a car only to discover afterwards that it had been written off.

If a range of bum gripper guitar stands were made, could the Hercules mechanical lever action be utilised to clench the cheeks as your bass neck nuzzled in there?

My understanding is that, all things being equal, the higher the ohms the clearer, more defined the sound should be. But I'm frequently wrong about a whole myriad of things.

I'm using a PJB Suitcase with extension cab, so eight 5" drivers. Keeps up with a loud band, sounds lovely and best of all, I've had no feedback problems since using it which I used to suffer from. Forgot my preamp pedal Friday so didn't have phase reversal or notch filter but no feedback even when the whole band but me were through the PA.

My acoustic 4 string has a raised 17th fret, easy to sort but I've no business being up that end so left it. The pickup is strange on that one as well, the E and G are a lot quieter than the A and D when plugged in, whether that's the problem or just how they all are I don't know. Strange as it's the higher quality one with the Fishman electrics, it's fine acoustically though. Can't complain for £40 I cannot find anything wrong with my fretless acoustic apart from a tiny mark top of the headstock.

Fridays gig was like that, tiny doorway at the end of the bar to negotiate with big drunk bloke stood there. When you say excuse me he would just lean forward a bit instead of actually moving, trying to get a doublebass past him without knocking the bridge over was fun. First time I wait for them to move, after that it's a loud cheery "scuse me" as I come barrelling through with the PA. If they're too thick to work it out after the first ask then they will physically feel why they should move. The thing is they are a punter and without punters venues won't want bands, so you have to put up with it.
