1. Another vote here for OnSong. Import PDFs or punch in your own notes/charts. It's great.
2. I had a load of PA gear stolen from my van in January. My insurers are Musicguard and they paid out without any issues. I'd go so far to say they were really helpful throughout the process and whenever I called them the staff on the phone were great.
3. I agree with markdavid above. I used to have Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders in my PJ. The output of these pick ups are high but the rear J pick up always seemed to be overpowered by the front P. I eventually swapped the QP P for a SPB-1. Now I have a sweeter tone from the P pick up, and I can blend in plenty of the QP J pick up. This combination works for me.
4. I found the Mad Professor Blueberry to be too thin sounding for my liking, it was quite a let down when I got it. I much preferred the darker sound of the Bearfoot (with the Nature knob around 9-10 o'clock), but I needed to put it in a blendable loop to help retain some note definition.
5. I just bought a pedal from Jez. He's easy to deal with, great comm's, and I'd definitely recommend him. Thanks Jez.
6. There's a Source Audio Lunar phaser going in the For Sale section that may interest you - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/298521-source-audio-lunar-phaser/
7.
Is it any good? Worth getting for headphone practice? Is is super clean or has it got a bit of grit?
Yes, it's a great piece of kit. And yes it's fabulous for headphone practise - you can even plug in an external source. And it's super clean sounding. I met a BCer a couple of years ago to buy his bass and he brought his BH along for me to play the bass through. The bass was fab and I took it there and then. I was so impressed with the BH that I picked one up soon after. I still have it. It comes with a load of leads in the box so you never get caught out for connectivity either, a nice touch. I've used mine on a few gigs where the supplied backline was utter sh*te and it made the bass sound a whole lot better. I've also used it as a mini amp for cabled IEMs which it excelled at.
8. The HB Shorty is very good. 350 out of the 466 reviews are 4 & 5 star, and it's a tad under £75 delivered.
9. Check out one of these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbp90bk_shortscale_ebass.htm?ref=search_prv_4 I picked one up recently and it's brilliant. I did change the strings for some decent ones, and I gave it a quick set up. I've gigged it too and it rocked.
10. I just bought a loop switcher from Lee. He posted it straight away. No hassles, an easy transaction. Thanks Lee.
11. I used 360 Mastering in Hastings last year. They were great. We were there for the whole afternoon so we had a lot of input during the process. They have some amazing old valve gear. We needed the bottom end tightening up a bit and we got the vocals to sit up in the mix beautifully. We had a couple of tweaks we wanted done afterwards and they were more than helpful in getting things sounding exactly how we wanted. I can't remember exactly how much we paid but it wasn't as much as Abbey Road, maybe £40-50 a song. We thought our mixes were good before but the mastering brought them to life. I'd go back there in a heartbeat.
12. I just sold a pedal to Trill. Another easy transaction here on BC. Great comms and quick payment. Thanks Trill.
13. A Jaydee Supernatural. It was the late 80's. I camped out outside the Bass Centre in Wapping for 2 nights waiting for them to open on a Monday to get the yellow one they had in a January sale. Back then that area was rough as f*ck. The bass was £400, half price and well worth braving the cold and Wapping for. I had the cash in my back pocket and in my jacket I had the leg from a mic stand ready in case anyone tried to mug me. Some cops from the nearby station pulled up on the first night wondering what I was doing. Once I'd explained why I was there they let me come to the station day & night for free coffee refills in my flask. It all worked out fine and I got the bass.
14. I just sold a pedal to Kevin. He's Been a pleasure to deal with, great comms and prompt payment. Recommended. Thanks Kevin.
15. I picked up a 60s CV P here last year and straight off the bat it became my main gigging bass. It sounds amazing and plays beautifully. The only major thing I changed was putting a J neck on it.
16. I'll catch up with that later. I was having a discussion with a guitarist recently about a particular song key. He said it was in C but I was arguing it was A minor. Anyhow, after a good banter about it I told him to play whichever chord he wanted to, because when I played my note underneath, I'd be the one deciding which chord it would be. That's one of the reasons how important the bass is in music.
17. The T-16 is now sold
18. T-16 is still up for grabs.
19. It didn't last long did it! Nice hint Lee, but I'm not letting go of the Aftershock just yet
20. The Blueberry is now sold.
21. You were right guys, the Blueberry didn't last long! It's sold subject to payment. The T-16 is still up for grabs.
22. COG T-16 - SOLD I've just upgraded to a T-65 so this lovely octave is now surplus to my requirements. This is a very versatile octaver packed into a small 1590A enclosure, so it doesn't eat up much pedal board real estate. The controls are Clean Volume, Octave Down Volume & Octave Down Filter. The tracking really is fabulous and the filter gives a wide variety of octave down tones. Here's the link to the COG page for all the info and video reviews from Mr Excane & BassTheWorld.com: http://www.cogeffects.co.uk/t-16-octave.php This pedal is in immaculate condition and comes in its original box. It has Velcro on the base. The price is £110 shipped anywhere in the UK on a recorded service. BEARFOOT BLUEBERRY - SOLD I really love this pedal but it's not getting used much these days. It can do subtle low gain all the way up to high gain. And with the Nature knob you can go from full on low end growl to high end bite, and everything in between. A great all rounder that's had a lot of love here recently. Link to the Beafoot page for more info and video reviews from Mike Hermans, Lance Seymour and others: http://www.bearfootfx.com/store/overdrives/blueberry-bass-overdrive/ It has had lots of use, and unfortunately it's got some scratches & dings and one larger paint chip on the front edge. These are shown in the pictures and reflected in the asking price. It doesn't come with the original box, and it has Velcro on the base. The price is £60 shipped anywhere in the UK on a recorded service.
23. I've had a DL1608 for 18 months now and I still love using it. I've never had a failure of any kind, no wifi dropouts, it is brilliant.
