1.
May I be considered for the sonic stomp?
PMd.
2. PMs replied and a bump.
3. I agree with all of the above, this desk has been just brilliant.
4. For sale - my Mackie DL1608 digital mixer. I'm selling this as I'm planning on upgrading to the 32 channel version. This mixer has served me well for the nearly two years that I have had it. It's the best mixer I have ever owned by a country mile. Saving mixes and whole channel strips, wireless front of house and monitor (6 auxes!) mixing, it's so easy to use and makes soundchecks and gigs a breeze. And with proper Logic/Cubase style EQs, you never need suffer a muddy mix again. And it's small and light. This mixer has been looked after, it is in immaculate condition and it works perfectly. I'm including the flight case for the asking price. It currently has the 30 pin connector on it, but I can fit the Lightning connector if you'd prefer. These are selling for around £630 new. I have also have a spare iPad3 (with the 30pin connector) that's in A1 condition, hardly used, and I'd be willing to add it to the sale for a very reasonable price if somebody wants to do a deal. I'm not including a wireless router in this sale but you can pick one up for peanuts. Download the free Mackie Master Fader 4.6 app from the Apple App Store to see all the features for yourself. 6. I just settled on this layout for my small board. You can definitely squeeze a lot onto a Metro 20! The Source Audio EQ gives me a 4 different EQ/boost settings, all MIDI switchable with the One Control Gecko. This EQ works a treat with the two dirt pedals for lots of variation. It's pretty effective with clean bass, filter & octaver too. The rear row are mounted on 4 Diago risers that just happen to fit perfectly across the back bar of the Metro. The spaces under the risers are handy for tucking cables and power jacks out of the way too. Power is supplied by a 1-Spot, and there are no noise or hiss issues. Signal path: G30 Tuner DOD Octaver SA EQ (patch switching by The Gecko) COG Rogue Leader parallel loop switcher - Ch1 - TC MojoMojo > RunOffGroove Ginger - Ch2 - 3Leaf Proton TC Corona Chorus (mainly used for flanging)

Pedal cable

I've been using a lot of George Ls for a few years now with no reliability issues at all. But my pedals are always on boards so the connector cables aren't getting moved around, twisted or strained. For tight spaces & short connectors I also use these - https://www.fxpedal.co.uk/gyc-kinsman-slimline-0-15m-patch-cable-p306 I've had a couple fail over the years but they are so easy to open up and re solder. I've recently got some of these - https://www.thomann.de/gb/rockboard_flat_patch_cable_black_5_cm.htm?ref=search_prv_11 I have the 5, 10 & 20cm lengths and so far they seem to do the job just fine. They are very discreet and definitely save space.
8. Somebody get the BBE quick! This is a classic soft knee compressor, they're awesome. Not to be confused with the brown labelled 'moustache' later versions which were just not great. GLWTS.
9. If you don't drive, you will soon be regarded as a pain in the ass by your band mates that have to go out of their way to pick you up and drop you off. And it will hinder your musical opportunities when you're trying to join new bands. In this game you really need to drive.
10. I'm hankering for a go on a Sub n Up. Has anyone got some experience with one they'd like to share?
11. I had a T-16, I now have a T-65. What the COG octaves have that I love is a wide ranging filter (tone control) on the octave down. I've never owned an OC-2 and it's not high on my wish list but only because of the lack of a filter. I used to have a Pearl Octaver which was great and I wish I hadn't sold it now.
12. Another vote here for OnSong. Import PDFs or punch in your own notes/charts. It's great.
13. I had a load of PA gear stolen from my van in January. My insurers are Musicguard and they paid out without any issues. I'd go so far to say they were really helpful throughout the process and whenever I called them the staff on the phone were great.
14. I agree with markdavid above. I used to have Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders in my PJ. The output of these pick ups are high but the rear J pick up always seemed to be overpowered by the front P. I eventually swapped the QP P for a SPB-1. Now I have a sweeter tone from the P pick up, and I can blend in plenty of the QP J pick up. This combination works for me.
15. I found the Mad Professor Blueberry to be too thin sounding for my liking, it was quite a let down when I got it. I much preferred the darker sound of the Bearfoot (with the Nature knob around 9-10 o'clock), but I needed to put it in a blendable loop to help retain some note definition.
16. I just bought a pedal from Jez. He's easy to deal with, great comm's, and I'd definitely recommend him. Thanks Jez.
17. There's a Source Audio Lunar phaser going in the For Sale section that may interest you - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/298521-source-audio-lunar-phaser/
18.
Is it any good? Worth getting for headphone practice? Is is super clean or has it got a bit of grit?
Yes, it's a great piece of kit. And yes it's fabulous for headphone practise - you can even plug in an external source. And it's super clean sounding. I met a BCer a couple of years ago to buy his bass and he brought his BH along for me to play the bass through. The bass was fab and I took it there and then. I was so impressed with the BH that I picked one up soon after. I still have it. It comes with a load of leads in the box so you never get caught out for connectivity either, a nice touch. I've used mine on a few gigs where the supplied backline was utter sh*te and it made the bass sound a whole lot better. I've also used it as a mini amp for cabled IEMs which it excelled at.
19. The HB Shorty is very good. 350 out of the 466 reviews are 4 & 5 star, and it's a tad under £75 delivered.
20. Check out one of these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbp90bk_shortscale_ebass.htm?ref=search_prv_4 I picked one up recently and it's brilliant. I did change the strings for some decent ones, and I gave it a quick set up. I've gigged it too and it rocked.
21. I just bought a loop switcher from Lee. He posted it straight away. No hassles, an easy transaction. Thanks Lee.
22. I used 360 Mastering in Hastings last year. They were great. We were there for the whole afternoon so we had a lot of input during the process. They have some amazing old valve gear. We needed the bottom end tightening up a bit and we got the vocals to sit up in the mix beautifully. We had a couple of tweaks we wanted done afterwards and they were more than helpful in getting things sounding exactly how we wanted. I can't remember exactly how much we paid but it wasn't as much as Abbey Road, maybe £40-50 a song. We thought our mixes were good before but the mastering brought them to life. I'd go back there in a heartbeat.
23. I just sold a pedal to Trill. Another easy transaction here on BC. Great comms and quick payment. Thanks Trill.
