hmmmm!!! I really fancy that nordstrand preamp ive nordstrands in my jazz and the EMG circuit i have in it is a bit too clinical sounding for my tastes ( it sounded ok when i had EMG pickups in it though) very skint due to just buying a new bass and octave pedal and new DR,S , i might start dropping xmas hints

Just sold my beloved Ken smith to Rob ( the lucky fella) he paid almost imediately via bank transfer and showed a lot of trust in doing so!!! Great comms and a lovely guy to deal with and chat too, wouldve been quite happy to meet up for a beer and talk bass rubbish all day . Deal with complete confidence, highly recommended- thanks again Rob enjoy the smith!!

these are absolutely fantastic cabs i had one for a while, but it was too big for the gigs im doing ,so had to go with smaller/lighter solution, i still miss it though as the little cabs just dont do the RAWWKK!! stuff as well, my favourite 4x10 by a country mile!! whoever gets this is getting a bargain!!

Im a big fan of natural provided its a nice figured bit of wood, in particular i always dreamed of having a bass with a cocobolo top especialy the reddy brown type with lots of swirly grain (a bit like mark kings old alembic) natural ash or alder i find a bit uninspiring. For colours it has to be red, i love fiesta red on a P, but i really love a dark black cherry kind of red, a bit like a good rioja colour (yummy) the only finish ive seen near to my perfect is spector and musicman do a nice black cherry, oh and it has to be transparent with a nice AAAAA quilted maple, i do love that minty green colour musicman has on its classic ray at the moment and sonic blue on a jazz bass is great. I did have a musicman sterling with a lovely cherryburst finish which was very special, i also quite like warwicks emerald green which is quite dark. so you could say yeah!!! how it looks is important, and feel and sound after all if your paying a lot of money for a guitar it should tick all the boxes

I remember playing a 5 string burner years ago in electro music in doncaster, and the neck was really nice and the action very low it was a joy to play and it was only £800, it was the blue colour the same as walbassists, i only didnt get it as i was looking for a 4 and had a yamaha nathan east 5, TBO even though it was a while ago i dont think it was as good as the usa smiths the build quality is exceptional ( mind you it should be for the price diffrence) a small ote on that same shopping trip (i had £1000 to spend, i remember those days not being a dad = disposable income ) electro had a 4 string Wal bass in for £800 i really liked it but found the body a little bigfor me, so i walked away with a warwick streamer lx for the princely sum of £950 bloody kicking myself, i loved the streamer as it was an early one ad it served me well for many years. oh well love my smith to bits though, afretless burner would be cool though!!
