1.
I really want a black tiger 4...but this will stop the gap until i win the lottery. Something like this next.... http://www.thelowend.net/gallery/viewtopic...debbe571ca979ca
Yeah i agree, a black tiger elite 5 has always been top of my gas list, overwater#1 BT6 is bloody gorgeous, but im not a six kinda guy, the fusion elite has always had me foaming at the mouth but you are right def a lottery win bass, a pic of mine found on photo bucket by a previous owner And posing
2. very very nice indeed!!!!! i thought from your profile that it was black, but its a nice trans blue, i almost bought a burner 5 back in 98 which was pretty much the same as yours, i didnt as i had a yamaha nathan east at the time, so i bought a warwick with the cash, which started a ten year stint playing nothing but warwicks, i wish id bought the smith as they are quite rare as most smiths are, and probably a better bass , very lovely if i was a 5 id be talking smith trades with you!! - lee
3.
If Paypal sorts it's head out in the morning, the Burner is mine. I thought long and hard, but the decision was made for me by the lucky bugger who got this.
Cool congrats on a lovely bass!!! me, you and matt (overwater#1) will have to form the northwest Ken smith apprecialtion society he,s got a black tiger 6 and ive a BSR5 MW, should make for some interesting comparisons great bass mate-
4.
Wow - nice work, glad someone did it before i sold a kidney.
It wasnt you then andy is was hoping it was!!!
5. I must admit, these days i go for quality rather that quantity ( a year ago i had six basses i now have two) and i really love my ken smith 5 but id be perfectly happy to just use my 82 JV squire jazz, a wee bit modified though with nordstrand pickups and a badass and an EMG circuit, ive had it for 17 years and its amazing, quite heavy though, but its going nowhere
6. youve got to tell us who got it i actually learned something from this sale, i actually thought someof foderas designs were taken from ken smith, i do think now thats probably not the case, mind you the emporer design is very reminiscent of spector and the fender jazz IMO, which is why i bloody love it!!!! congratulations to the new owner a true beauty!!!
Now that burner would go great with my burner 6..
You got the smith bug then your burner is cool would like to see more pics, stick em on my smith thread in the gear porn. this burner is bloody gorgeous and probably not a million miles away from my USA model in terms of build quality, more hats off to fantastic japanese bass building
8. oh wow, thats one spectacular looking bass, and must say with the dovetail neck and the inlays it does look very fodera esqe!!! half the price of a used monarch and probably just as good IMO!!! im a big fan of smiths and i dearly love mine, whoever gets this will be one happy bunny- big bump!!!
9. I love mine, best £160 ive ever spent
10. This rigs a bargain, ive tried most rigs (yet to try the bergantino IP though) and nothing comes close to the EBS IMO fantastic gear, bump!!!
11.
I normally carry all my own gear to gigs in my car but we were doing a big charity bash last night and we had a van. Collected at 5.30 and we had to rearrange some of the gear already in the van to get in the PA equipment stored at mine. All packed off we go to the gig where we arrive to find loads of people milling about inc' three bands (we all know each other) helping each other carry in various equipment... excellent camaraderie! As the PA belongs to me I end up setting most of it up myself before I turn to set my gear up; where's my bass? AAAARGH! 'Where the cufk is my BASS' Much searching turns up nothing; 13 guitar cases double checked to see if one is mine, van searched... panic ensues (on my part) and I'm frantically phoning home to ask if my bass is sitting on the drive, not there. My bass is nowhere to be found, utter devastation on my part and much self chastisement for being so cuffin lax and letting other people take charge of my gear (which I NEVER usually do). Then... phone call from the Mrs, it's in the garage down beside some shelving, someone obviously moved my bass to one side when we were loading the lights and PA. It's unlikely that you can know how bad that feels unless it's happened to you before! Any similar experiences?
Very scarey story john it wasnt red by any chance
12. That bass looks fantastic, i was always very interested in the 2 tek when they first came out, alwasys thought it was a natural evolution of the badass idea!! never caught on though, stupidly expensive and needed fitting by a tech who ad to cut a massive great hole in your bass, supposed to work really well though and ive heard nothing but good things about the cruise basses, i suspect the money you,ll get for this will buy you a fender jazz which is only 1/10 as good as this and you may be a wee bit regretful, good luck with the sale someones getting a corker, i really wanted to get a 2 tek for my 82 squire jazz and i still wonder if it would improve anything over the badass. cheers - lee
13. Ive got the tweed one, an absolutely fantastic bag with tons of storage (even fits a small bass head) got it for my ken smith as the hard case is a bit bulky for my car, the igig offers a lot of protection, if you have an expensive bass you need one of these - bump lee
14. must say pete your avatar has reall brightened my evening who is she? sorry to derail i just wish EBS would make a little head, with two channels
15. i cant wait to see the results, could be like garlic bread "the future" very interesting idea, good luck with it - lee
16. I believe accugroove brought out limited editions of some of their cabs with the 6" driver being made of carbon fibre, the other speakers were just the same though, not sure how they would sound compared to the normal ones, just something i stumbled across whilst gear surfing, it is a very interesting idea.
17. Glad everythings cool, i must say that is one of the most gorgeous smiths ive ever seen, that flame is incredible,i want black hardware for mine, i love smiths they just have this great punchy sound that just shines in a band setting, clear as a bell too, bump for the lovely smith - lee
18. I know its not allowed but id pick that red quilted mockingbird, ive always fancied an eagle, but for pointyness i think id go for the Zombie Revenge one very cool, i used to like the Bitch shape too i take it they dont do that as a bass anymore. BC Rich,s are very cool instruments though, id like to turn up to a dep jazz gig with one, just to see the looks of the musos faces
19. this is a gorgeous bass, ive just noticed the thread, as i really wanted this when it was last for sale, you snooze and all that!!!
20. Ive used a gramma pad for nearly five years now, i was on the ships and was given a ashdown combo, which i had to use in a wooden room built for the band, awful amount of muddy uncontrolable bottom, i saw it in bass player in the ads at the back and managed to order one from dolphin music on ebay (for a lot more than they are going now ) and ive used it for every gig ever since, i absolutely adore it and i couldnt play without it, i must admit its looking a bit roadworn now, the foam does get torn, might have to get a new one eventually. +1 on the praise ! an indispensable tool
