1. I bet that sounds absolutely amazing mate, i do believe you have my old TD650, which i loved and regret getting rid off, it was my favourite amp, ive now got an HD350 but for some reason its not the same, but 2 x 4x10,s i do believe youve got my ideal setup right there, congratulations on a great setup - lee
2.
Much as it hates to even memtion them *shudders*, it really, really irks me that in the latest round of promo shots for album/single/tour, they don't feature the bass player. I'm assuming it's still Hughie(?) who's been with them for the best part of twenty years.
Aye Hugh Macdonald was actually on bon jovis first album in the late 70,s and some say he was on ALL the records, but he,s never been in any band promo, he must just be an employee, a bit like darryl jones with the stones. Hugh was a session player (his stuff on Alice coopers trash was great) but yeah your right - lee
3. Hi Kev two weeks ago i might have had this from you, however ive just bought an IGIG G15 in tweed and it is abslutely fantastic, probably as tough as the mono but has lots of storage ( i can now sack off the holdall for leads, strings, pedals etc) and is just all round a very classy looking bag, ill try to get some pics up later, on my gig bag thread
4. HHHHHMMM having a tiny little bit of intrest as to how a whammy bar would work on bass, ( dont think id butcher my basses to find out though,) cool looking peice of kit
5. Hi Everyone Took delivery of my IGIG G15 in tweed yesterday, and i have to say my initial misgivings at the price proved to be unfounded, its a really attractive and well proportioned bag, and although its semi solid (very tough actually, with Plastic panelling inside) its really light and comfortable to wear, the gig pillow and saddle features offer extra protection inside the bag (and it fits my Ken smith perfectly).one of the best features is the amount of storage it has two very large pockets on the front and a large on on the top, the pockets are actually designed to fit a small amp ( like the markbass, EA etc) and has a cushioned seperator inside,(like the gigskinz mixer bags) it also features lots of diffrent storage solutions from pens and pencils to effects pedals, it also has a clip for cables. Tha actual bag itself is a very good looking bag, with its goldy tweed finish and brown suede trim( looks nicer than the MONO M80 IMO), i can honestly say it ticks all the boxes and i wouldnt mind a second one, will put some pics up ASAP so you can see for yourself as the pics online are limited, needless to say money well spent and im dead chuffed, anyone thinking on one of these wont be dissapointed. By the way im not Endorsed by IGIG in any way, (wish i was ) just thought id add my 2p to anyone thinking of getting one- cheers - lee

7. Wow thats gorgeous, ive always wanted a 74 jazz (same age as me) especially with a maple neck, im a very skint man so its out of the question, big bump for a stunning bass - lee
8. Loving the new frock (hmmm pearly) whack a set of nordstrand nj,4s (they do them with a 70,s wind) ive got some in my jv squire, very articulate and clear, with a nice bottom end (not massive though vintage fans) they dont have a huge output so i think they would benefit from a preamp (i have an EMG one) to bring a bit more low end thump, they do sound fantastic and have a great slap tone, all you,d need then is a High mass bridge and a sadowsky circuit and your laughing- gorgeous bass mate im jealous- all the best - lee
9. Been meaning to add to this thread for while, if i can remember the basses ive had in the last 19 years, heres my list roughly in order 1- short scale no name 6o,s bass -(bought on my 16th birthday for £30, i was robbed) 2- Vantage bass -(paid £20 and it had a dimarzio p bass pickup) 3 - 1980 Ibanez musician -( neck through, nice woods, bloody heavy) 4 - Hohner PJ fretless- (my first fretless it was bloody awful) 5 - 1982 Squire jazz- olympic White- ( i still have this, although its been slightly modded, will have it forever) 6 - Howard Satterly custom Jazz ( the bass doc made it for me, ash body, birdseye maple neck w/ebony fretboard, seymour duncans, badass, it eventually ended up fretless) 7 - Yamaha BBN5 - ( my first 5 string, nice bass and not very much money) 8 - Yamaha Nathan east sig 5 - ( quickly upgraded to this, Aqua blue,AAAAA quilted top, great bass had to sell it when i was skint, not a nice time, looked better than it sounded though) 9 - Warwick Streamer Lx 4 -( My first warwick, emerald green, older one with wenge neck, fantastic bass, sold it on really regret it, My favourite bass TBH) 10 - Warwick Streamer Jazzman 5 - ( Great bass, burgundy red, musicman/jazz pickups very versatile, recently moved this on time will tell if ive made a mistake) 11 - 1990 Warwick Streamer stage 1- ( refinished in trans red, lovely looking bass, played great, really didnt like the tone at all, sold my green one to get this, BIG MISTAKE!!!!!) 12 - Musicman Sterling - ( Traded the red warwick, for this Cherry burst with a nordstrand pickup, simply amazing bass, i really miss it) 13 - NS WAV 4 EUB - (Amber burst, my first EUB dead easy to play and sounded great, wasnt using it as ive no patience to get to grips with fretless, a recurring theme!!!) 14 - CIJ Fender 62 RI precision - (Fiesta red, lovely bass with flats very thumpy, had to go coz im skint ) 15 - MIA Fender Fretless jazz - (3 tone sunburst, nice bass still not sure if fretless is for me though) 16 - Ken Smith BSR5 MW - (My latest baby, fantastic bass, not the most versatile sound though, but what a sound, hope i dont have to sell it) 17- Spector NSCR5 with East Pre 18- Washburn AB10 Acoustic Bass Guitar 19- Stagg EUB 20-Squire VM Precision 5 21-Samick artist Acoustic Bass Guitar 22- 83 Tokai fretless jazz 23- Musicman stingray 5HH Well there you go, in 19 years of playing ive not really had that many basses, i was a pro for a long time and tended to stay with certain basses for a while though as they suited the job i was doing at the time, interesting to see tastes change over the years. Keep the lists coming, really interesting reading - lee

17. I got very good results, from using two accugroove tri110,s( 1x10. 1x6 and 2 tweeters) with the TD650 i now use those two cabs with an HD350 and still sounds great, id imagine the EBS neo 112,s would be a great match too - all the best - lee
18. For me the "bass of the moment" has to be the retro musicman stingray in sea foam green, im quite taken with it, justlovely i will have one one day!!! im also very interested in the dingwalls featured in Bass guitar magazine with the fanned frets (the cocobolo one in bass direct is especially nice) and my current GAS list includes a Marcus Miller jazz and a fretless NT warwick thumb 5- never bloody happy PS im still loving my new Ken smith too!!!
19. Hi there I used to have a TD650 (downgraded now to the 350) and i used to use it with one 8ohm accugroove cab for smaller gigs and 2 of them for larger, with no issues!, im sure i read that at 8 ohms the 650 puts out about 260 watts (im sure someone will correct me if im wrong) so make sure the 8 ohm cab can handle that, i wouldnt mix 1 x8 and 1x4ohms though, but you could run 2x8ohms and 1x4 ohms or 4x 8ohms speakers as the 650 goes down to 2 ohms, 2x 8ohms would give you 450 watts of power hope this helps mate

22. I used to have one of these, tremendous instrument, and the amber burst really does look classy, (much better than the pics online) great sound and very easy to play, wish i hadnt sold mine, too skint to buy this though - bump - lee
23. Great cab!! I bought one of these years ago when they first started to arrive in england (blew my student loan on a hartke rig) it cost me nearly£500 at the time, so this is an uber bargain perfect for a young bassist needing a good cab but doesnt need loads of power - bump - lee
24. Wow Stick a tort scratchplate on the seafoam green PHWOOOAAARR! im sure the build quality will be fine when these come out, my old sterling was amazing, but my next MM will be one of these (still wanting louis,s sound) a matching headstock would be cool too!! - lee
