I dont know what to say, other than thank you all, in very lucky to have so many people who care. Im making positive steps, ive started therapy to manage my depression. Im trying to give up alcohol (only two and a half weeks, but every day counts) eating better and no caffeine. Some playing oppertunities have came my way which will hopefully open doors, if asked 2 months ago id have made a BS excuse and said no, im not doing that anymore. Importantly my wife and i have finally opened up to each otherand while too late to save the marriage, l feel we can (in time) become friends and love each other in a different way. I feel like a light has been switched on and i can finally see clearly how this has come to pass. Heartbreaking but regrettably a common story. Some of you have offered very kind and shared your stories with me, and every one has helped me as i grieve. Once again, i am humbled by the generosity youve all shown, and you've taken a big chunk of stress off my shoulders.- 86 replies

Ive only just became aware of this (and spent 30 mins sobbing afterward) a few members im close too will know that after 22 years of marriage my wife asked for a divorce. At the risk of oversharing. For many years ive struggled with (for a long time undiagnosed) carpal tunnel in both wrists, which at times has hampered my playing. This is on the mend, but among other things has taken a toll. Im devastated, but ive done a lot of thinking and looking back, it cant go on Ive been harming myself mentally, and suppressed anger and frustration and sadness until it warped me into something im not, and caused her to fall out of love with me ive numbed the pain with Alcohol which has affected my physical health. She knew what was happening to me, but dealt with it by keeping busy with other things and remained focused on creating a life for herself that didnt include me, in time we were more roommates than a husband and wife. So sad, we had a beautiful relationship, and it withered and died and we both let it happen! heartbreaking, truly heartbreaking Ill always love her,she was my best friend, soulmate and the love of my life. Right now im still full of anger and resentment and need to try and let it all go and forgive, because ive tortured myself and her for years If this looks at all familiar i beg you COMMUNICATE, share your feelings and find the person you love. Im not courting sympathy or even attention, but please hug your partner and love them fiercely and with all of your heart. Ive been a nember of this forum since 2007 and it has been part of my everyday life in all that time. Ive made friends for life and brothers id never had, and many many times been a small light in my darkness. I cant thank you all enough for this, im very moved and grateful to have so many wonderful people in my lif Im going to move out and get a flat with the shirt on my back and a couple of basses, at 51 my life parallels when i left Newcastle at 19 Im on the cusp of a new start My focus will be on healing myself phyisically and mentally, i plan to throw myself into the thing thats always defined me , Music!! Time to forgive and heal- 86 replies

Raising cash so up for sale is IMHO one of the finest tracking octavers available for bass. It has two distinct octave voices a Growl which replicates the toothy synth tone of an OC2 and a Girth which is smooth and deep like an EBS octabass/octamizer. You can get subtle variations from mixing the two. It also has a switchable mid boost/cut on the clean tone which can be adjusted internally, very handy. Usual small MXR enclosure with fantastic build quality. Its in great condition and a beautiful deep blue sparkle. No box, but will be well packed. (Note- the A sticker will be removed and cleaned, ive a two channel setup and kept mixing them up 🤣) £80 posted to UK only

Ive had a major life upheaval so need to sell a lot of my gear. listing my MIJ 75RI Fender jazz in natural Ash/maple. Its a bona fide "non export" as it has the proper 70s pickup spacing Its a 95 model and was bought NOS in japan and exported over by a pro player who took it to a tech and had full CTS/switcraft pots and Lollar pickups fitted. He then put it in a case and left it for years! the thing is immaculate save for a ding right on the top of the headstock done by me recently 😩 I fitted a Badass2 bridge and it sounds bloody glorious, its pretty much a Marcus Miller all you'd need to do is add a preamp (i use a sadowsky pre pedal with it) heartbreaking to sell but i need cash. Id be looking for £975 delivered, itll come with an old hardcase.

Up for sale is a pedal that's been a staple sound on my board for a long time. The Emma Okto Nojs is a very dirty/synthy pedal, and a whole plethora of synth tones can be had with this! Just add filter and Analog synth heaven. It's two pedals in one Octave - this is a very deep and plummy octave, it has a filter, so can go very deep to buzzy like a sawtooth wave, it does the OC2 thing well. It tracks very well, and has the internal "bass" setting, which i think helps a bit more. Fuzz- this Fuzz is in two parts, the first is a very dynamic synth Fuzz, with a subtle octave up sound as you play higher up. This sounds very similar to the 3 leaf you're Doom currently going for tons of money online, great for Moog like tones. It also has a fuzzy square wave tone an octave down, with a volume and colour (tone) so it can be used alone or in conjunction with the normal Fuzz sound. When Fuzz and octave are switched on together, they run in parallel for a cleaner more dynamic synth tones. It's in fantastic condition, with a pretty blue Octopuss orgy on the front, and with the original box. £100 incl UK only delivery

Up for sale is one of the greatest synth filters ive had the pleasure to use. Its got a plethora of features including the usual up/down filter and a very cool step filter. The step filter provides random tones, very electronic sounding and can be adjusted to emulate a tremelo or phaser. Such a great sounding filter for lovers of synth. Its in as new condition and comes with the original box, i havent had the chance to fit it to my pedalboard, so no velcro. Id keep this, but need cash currently. If you can find these (difficult), they are quite expensive. £110 posted to the uk

I recently got this Hens teeth pedal, but need a clearout. Its an original Canadian jnr pedal, the majestic BCP1 in a smaller format with top mounted jacks. I know these have been reintroduced with new features, i had read they dont sound the same, but i couldnt comment. It instantly fattens the sound while adding a lovely sheen. It is in as new condition, however doesnt come with the box. £210 including next day delivery to the uk.

For sale is my washburn AB10 acoustic bass in black. This was originally bought new by the previous owner to learn on, however it was left for years and the action was like the fourth bridge. I took it to a local tech, who took the truss rod as far as itll go, and cut the bridge saddle adjusted the break angle to lower the action. Its been fitted with some TI jazz flats, its got a very playable medium/low action, but there is some unavoidable buzz roughly around fret 14 owards(tech suggested a fret levelling would cure this, you wouldnt need to go up there anyway 😊) id suggest keeping those strings on. The preamp works perfectly and sounds great. Ive no case so would prefer collection, but would post at buyers risk. £150

selling my USA Stingray 4HH Its a 2006 model in Sapphire Black (kind of a charcoal grey sparkle) with a moonstone pickguard (lovely green/silver). Its the 2 pickup model with the 5 way switch, but i mostly use it on back pickup or both, which gives me the classic ray bark, or a very modern dual humbucker tone reminiscent of a WAL/Ken Smith or MM Sabre. Single coil positions are available which remind me of a grindy Rickenbacker tone (but ricky owners would disagree) Its in decent condition, but has been well played. The neck is a beautifully flamed maple which has darkened to a lovely patina, i have been waxing it. Its quite wide like a P bass, but very shallow front to back, so is very comfortable, with a sumptously rich dark rosewood fingerboard. Theres some oxidisation on the pickups, as well as one or two very small dings in the finish (which is pretty much unblemished), very much in keeping with its age. The downside it weighs just under 11lbs, yes i realise 90% are now wincing, but it feels fine with a decent padded strap. Theres no OHSC regretabbly, but ive a semi hard case ill include. I will take £1000 posted.
