1. 1. Iron Ether Polytope (for over-the-top crazy stuff) or the Boss CE-5 2. Boss BF-2 3. TC Electronic Nova Delay/Repeater, or Boss DD-3
  2.
Just get a 3 Leaf Audio GR2 It is effectively a Meatball without the bad sounds!
+1, that thing sounds amazing.
  3. Hey, I just put a cable in an amp and turn the mids up. shrugs But being serious, I think digital modeling sounds a lot worse on guitar. Especially distortions/overdrives, for those you really need a good amp or pedal. Digital phasers/flangers/choruses sound fine to my ear, same with delays (if you want that hi-fi sound) but everything else tends to suck, with the exception of pitch bend, because you can't get analog pitch bend. Really, if you want a decent effects module for bass, just get a Pod or a Zoom or a Line 6, and your tone isn't really super treble-y anyway, so it won't mess that up with crap digital effects. But if you're a guitar player and you want the perfect distortion, just buy a friggin' tube amp already.
  4.
... and dave grohl
Dave Grohl? He's pretty cool I thought.. Here are my top few: Robert Plant from Zep (spends way too much time on his hair and way too tight pants) Maynard James Keenan from Tool (good singer I know, but needs to wear more clothes and stop f***ing around on stage) Matt Shultz from Cage the Elephant (lots of emotion, but always acts drunk and needs to sing better! ) Any currently popular female singer such as Nicki Minaj/Kesha/Lady Gaga/etc. (Obvious reasons) Axl Rose from GnR (can't sing whatsoever) Marylin Manson (dresses like an idiot and can't sing) Did I leave anyone out..?
  5. "The bass is too loud!" Calling songs 'tunes' is also mildly annoying.
  6. Awesome interview. I've seen Chris around on basschat but hadn't looked into his music until now! That True Tiger video was incredible.
  7.
Last one...
My favorite one so far. Karizma is really ripping it up on this one..
  8. Also, Subdecay makes some nice phasers. http://www.prymaxevintage.com/subdecay-baby-quasar-phaser/
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuuECL32gLs Peronsally my favorite by him.
  10.
It's ok, they are nothing of the sort. Don't worry about it. youtube and digital editing and being ironic, stink, in my book.
You serious? Jack Conte is a genius. Seriously. I can't believe you guys haven't heard of him before..
  11. It's quite nice-looking.
  12.
Just glanced at this. Only a few years ago this would have been very uncool. Now it seems that the corporate world are using the latest artists to promote their wares and the artists seem happy to comply. When i was a nipper there always appeared to be a healthy disconnet between popular music and the corporate world. These boundaries seem to have been broken. I blame Live Aid and such like for showing business heads how "marketable" musicians can help promote an idea, service or product. They say that you get the society that you deserve. Help... http://www.bbc.co.uk...london-17606820 Jessie J had earlier performed at the event to promote Blackberry's instant messaging service.
I don't think Jessie J counts as an artist..

    Power Supply
FWIW I think the Diago Powerstation is excellent quality/value for money - I was getting a fair bit of hum etc from the previous power supply but the Diago is whisper quiet and currently powering 14 pedals without any worries.
+1, the Diago is amazing.
  14. The Bass Blogger needs to have an isolated supply to work correctly. Everything else looks like it should work fine with a Diago Powerstation. If you can find one in England, a Diago Isolator Adaptor should work with the Blogger if you want to keep it all on one daisy chain.

    Moog Factory Visit

It's really nice, you can just go in and try out anything. Asheville's a cool place all over, tons of street bands everywhere. There was this one awesome reggae band (guitar/vox, bass, drums) where the bassist had a tambourine under his foot and a handful of pedals (tuner, MXR comp, Bass Big Muff, and some red thing with 2 knobs). Sounded great.
  16. Iron Ether Oxide, definitely. You can get a smoother sound out of it as well as a more synth-like sound.
  17. Here are the pictures from my recent tour (today at 10 am) of the Moog Factory in Asheville. http://imgur.com/a/94Jp4#0 (full album) ^ Expect lots of derpiness in pictures containing yours truly.
  18.
pedalboard 2012 :
*drool* Just needs some dirt.
  19.
Totally with you on that, beautiful sounding unit!! They're on the Strymon website for $299 http://www.strymon.n...cts/elcapistan/ Seems to be like a smaller version of my Akai Headrush E2 Si
300$? I'll stick with a Nova Delay IB, thank you. (going to order one depending on the amp situation with the band )
  20.
I have the Mastrotron atm but the geiger counter I have coming does the sound I am after fuzz wise, and I doubt I'll be needed both for a single song. Where as I know I'll be using a solid drive a lot. It's so hard to find a good drive for bass without having to buy it first. I really want to try the Okko BASStard but that's nearly £300 last I looked, Things ion my list to try include Fulltone OCD Microtubes B3k B7k EBS valvedrive but thats about it. Most appealling is the OCD as it's high pass helps keep the bass bassy. Although I'm willionmg to sacrifice some low end for the right sounding pedal, as it'll be mixed with a direct clean/sub channel.
The EBS pedals are quite nice for drive. I would recommend the Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B, but sounds like you want something heavier than just overdrive. I personally hate layered/blended sounds (especially on bass) so I don't particularly like the Darkglass pedals.
  21. Shep, you just introduced me to my new favorite delay.. the El Capistan. Thank you. ..I can't seem to find it anywhere though..
  22. Come Together is a popular one, not much harmony. Anything off Sgt. Pepper's should probably work well though. Getting Better maybe? Actually didn't even think about the earlier stuff. That would work very well. Day Tripper, Hard Day's Night, Can't Buy Me Love, Eight Days a Week, Help, Ticket to Ride, etc.
  23.
Yep.
this disturbs me
  24.
My Sharona.
Did anyone actually play this anyway?
  25.
haha got me there! I would love an armoury of pedals but i just know they would never get used. Most of the time it wouldnt make a difference to what im playing anyway. But if i did have the money to burn on a pedal, i would choose an Oxide Iron Ether fuzz pedal as you can never have enough filth.
Iron Ether are boss. +1 Bit more than 100 squid, however.
