1. If I turn my head sideways, I can kind of understand it..
2. Thanks for all the input! Seems likely that I'll pick up one of these once I finish the long journey of saving for an amp and pedalboard.
3. MI Audio Pollyanna! Also, MXR is popular, as well as EHX. EHX has a few: Micro POG, Octave Multiplexer, Bass Micro Synth, POG, HOG, etc.
4. Instead of paying for that, just get a metal hammer, take yer axe on the back deck, and go to it!
5. Sounds good! Glad I wasn't just hallucinating at the playability of that bass!
6. I've been thinking about getting a cheap bass, and there's this one Squier lefty with P/J pickups that plays pretty nice. However, I was playing through an awesome (to my ear) Fender Rumble 150 at the time. Are Squier basses actually any good? I think I might get it and then convert my old Peavey to a fretless..
7.
There are a few power supplies with both AC and DC outputs all of which tend to be at the top end of the market. However, the Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai requires DC power, not AC. Feel free to drop us a line or give us a call if you need some specific advice.
I feel stupid now..
8.
It cuts ultra-low frequencies in order to prevent speakers working to reproduce frequencies that can't be heard. This way, the speakers are more efficient at reproducing the frequencies that can be heard and users report a tighter more focussed sound from their cabs. You should check out the SFX site; there's videos and sh*t on there. Truckstop
Ah, sounds interesting.
9.
The latest version:
What's that "thumpinator" in the bottom right?

Volume issues?

Any kind of booster should work, just put it after the Korg in the same loop. For example, the ever-popular MXR Micro Amp should work perfectly.
11.
The increasingly limited floor space I have at gigs has forced me to scaled down from a Pedaltrain Mini to a Nano. Now all I have is the bare essentials to play the songs in our set-list.
Where'd ya get those patch cables? They're awesome!
12. 9v. I've been to the page, they only have seperate power supplies for AC and DC, and with one AC pedal there's no point in buying a whole power supply.. Maybe I should just stick a power strip to the top/bottom of the board and use an adapter for the EHX and a Voodoo Labs power supply for the rest.
13. Don't see why people hate Damon so much, he's one of my biggest influences in music.. amazing voice, very good piano/melodica player, incredibly good/innovative songwriter, etc. I haven't heard much of Blur's music, but in the Gorillaz he really shines. ..well of course he's not Adele or anything, but emotion is what counts in music..
14. Are there any power supplies that have both DC and AC in one unit? I'm looking for a single solution to both DC pedals and an AC pedal (EHX Mem. Man w/ H). Are there any power supplies with both AC and DC power outputs? Or are there any small DC-to-AC converters? ..or AC-to-DC mods for EHX pedals?
15. Any CV expression pedal would work.
16. I would think the Moog Minitaur would be quite useful for synth bass. Looks like it has a regular cable jack input and output, so I would think you could plug a real bass in.. it also has an LFO, but I don't think you can control it with a pedal..
17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZF73wZ2Z5M The scary part is that I understand what they're talking about..
18. Depends on what you want to do. The proton is a very traditional "auto-wah" type thing, but the BEF is incredibly versatile, with tons of modes (including wah-wah-like expression pedal usage and the LFO-like noises with the hot hand). And if you're completely against digital, then the BEF is out.
19. Might try the Whammy IV eventually. I'm short of money (no real income), and if I'm going to be in a band I'll need a decent amp and cab first. Gonna have to delay my pedal dreams for awhile..
20.
New blog post - somewhat relevant to this thread.... Shep on Bass: Blog - When analogue meets digital.
Nice Nerve reference in there. +1
21. Well, the XP-100 is pretty cool, but there are a few problems: -note delay. when it's not bypassed, my playing comes out a fration of a second later, enough to be annoying. -tracking problems. it can't track well on bass at all. Now, I'm looking for something that can do accurate and non-delayed octave up pitch bends, and maybe some whammy-esque harmony as well. Size isn't *exactly* a factor, but I'll only go to the Whammy DT as a last resort. ...and the pitchfactor is waaay too expensive.
22.
Actually, ignore my post above. Having reread it it sounds like it was posted by a boring 56 year old What you should do is go to your first rehearsal with the enthusiasm and vigour of a youngster (I'm guessing you're under 30), with your array of pedals, be yourself and demonstrate what you can do. They will possibly love it - Possibly they won't. The worst they can do is say, "We'll let you know".
Sounds good to me. Under 20, actually. Not sure how exactly I would push those already-written songs though.. if at all. I suppose it just depends on the band. Bit of tasteful fuzz here 'n' there should work nicely.
23. Not exactly a pedalBOARD, but.. ...my XP-100 came in today! Please excuse my silly smirk.
24. A Sansamp Bass Driver DI, a Digitech Whammy of some sort, and some delay.
25. Awesome advice! Yeah, I think a spot of grit might go well with their stuff. Maybe I could talk them into some weirder stuff, who knows.
