2. I am very interested Any problems with it? Pedal works cleanly? Reason for sale? ta
3. ... or thats about how much I want to spend on buying a pedal for my son for his 16th birthday... He plays a Peavey Cirrus 4 string (not the US version) or my Ibanez BTB 5 string through a Basscube 30 or an Ashdown combo. Indie rock sometimes in two bands, jazz/funk in another band, and sometimes other stuff... For his 6 string he uses a Boss ME-50, and he has a loop station RC3 What dedicated bass pedals would you recommend as a start down the road of excessive on stage wiring? Or should bass players stand at the back, not move, and play cleanly and discretely....
4. grrrrr..... another interesting Bass in scotland
5. Why is it all the interesting s/h basses are in Scotland?
6. Thanks very much for the suggestions so far - they have given me and my son a lot to think about
7. Ok - cannot see an answer to this on doing a forum search - and I'd be very interested in the views of others. I have a 14 year old son who plays a Yamaha RBX 170, but is ready to move on. Playing a mix of stuff, and needs a bass with a wide tonal range, relatively narrow finger board, yet is active and slappable. Probable get quite a lot more s/h I guess. He has a brilliant PRS SE 6 string guitar - and I guess he might be looking for the equivalent in basses, a high quality instrument at the bottom end of the range of a great maker. And he doesn't need a 5 string, or a fretless (because he can borrow mine...!)
8.
Sticky, right at the top of this forum is recommended luthiers: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=26654 Anyone there has been recommeneded because they do a good job.
Well thanks... As a frequent poster on several non-music forums - I am aware of the idea of sticky threads - had looked a few days ago at that one before registering - and guess what? Just checked again - searching on East Sussex in this section of the forum produces no results - and the OP of that thread lists an acoustic guitar luthier (nearly bought a nylon 6 string from him a few years ago) and a manafacturer of beautiful looking guitars and basses... but that is not what I actually asked for...! Anyway I guess that sort of answers my question anyway - and it is off to London I will need to go... 6stringbassist thanks - might be the one I need - although 60 miles away
9. Hi - a newb to this forum here. I have an old Westone Thunder II fretless which has electrical issues (needs new pots, 2 new switches and a new socket...) I suppose I should get the old soldering iron out and give it a go myself - but who would you trust your Bass to if you lived near Hastings... (no points for "the tip" )
