  1. Apparently the original line up of the band were struggling to find a name then one of the members got sent on an errand to the old Lucas car parts factory ìn Birmingham. When they next met up again he said while driving round he came a cross a road sign and thought it would make a good name so they became - Garrison Lane. This was way way before Peaky Blinders made the road famous. The only other name we went under during changes in the lineup was The Leg Ends.
  2. Yep, I have 2x 30.5" ACG basses a third would be nice but 32" is just a stretch to far😁
  3. That ACG is a great looking bass, shame the scale length is not 2" shorter (for me).
  4. Dispicable, I hope you get the gear and the offenders get their comuppence. Our eyes are scouting all the avenues for you.
  5. You could always try both options break-even and see which one suits best. I have only been using my little finger over the last 18 months and the jury is still out on it being any real advantage.
  6. Funnily enough my subsvription has just come to an end and I was wondering where the 'this is your last chance to renew' reminders were as in the past I have had 3 to 4 this time just the one and no mention of going on line only. I wait in anticipation....
  7. You could always cut 3/4 pieces of plastic tubing to the hieght required and put under each corner or use bigger diameter tube and put one under each front corner and the third halfway along the back edge. Cheap and cheerful.
  8. Looking at what goes through the classifieds the points you highlight are not limiting so try the Amps fo sale thread. Laney is well liked as a brand as well.
  9. That makes sense👍
  10. Nice rig, regret selling my Genz Benz 8" combo.
  11. 👍 how did you come to choose that gauge over 50 70 90 110?
  12. Look at the Harley Benton short scale P-bass as a unit for upgrading. The previous owner fitted a Delano in the one I have and it suits the bass well. I have a 34" scale bass as well as my shortscales but it gets no use so you could get away witout one.
  13. There are similarly named toneprints for both the Spectradrive and Spectracomp in the Toneprint app (I have not checked if all the options apply to each). Not sure how they sound against each other.
  14. Tascam also have a number of recording products that would fit your requirements.
  15. +1 wot they said.
  16. Similar to a few others I play through a practice amp and feed tracks from a Tascam GB10 or stream via an Amazon echo into the aux socket.
  17. I have a number of Joni's albums, she is an outstanding talent.
  18. Thats a really nice job you've done there NoirBass👍
  19. TC electronic Spark (4 knob version) or Mojomojo.
  20. Have the pickups in the HB p-bass shorty always been decent or were earlier versions not so good? I only ask as I purchased a highly modified one from the classifieds some years back where the stock one had been replaced with Delano's so I always assumed the standard pickups were not so good.
  21. Just read the thread above this 'new joyo compressor' a mxr clone apparently, might be wort a look. I use the Spectrocomp (it's incorporated in my Spectradrive pedal) and it is an easy to use device and as said previously it is a doddle to change the toneprints.
  22. I must admit I've never come across that brand, sorry.

    Amp shortages

While looking at the online suppliers there is a lot of kit on long delivery, everything from pedals to PA equipment.
  24. Until recently 3 of my short scales were strung with 50 - 110 gauge roundwound strings and they sounded spot on. 2 of these are ACG basses which came factory fitted with this gauge. I have now fitted the 2 pbass short scales with 40 - 90 gauge flats can hear and here a difference in the harmonic content, while the tension is similar to the roundwounds.
