1. I hate her recorded music, always over produced and noisy but live she is something else. I love her when she is singing with a live band, wow just wow. And yes I totally would!!
2. Ok here is mine, not as tiny as others but still small and powerful enough. Peavey Tour 450 coupled with a BFM Omni 10.
3. What about this bad boy? i have the old version and works like a Swiss Clock. http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~Korg-Pandora-Mini-Black~ID~14913.asp and can even be used for recording purposes too.
4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I liked Hub a lot but my love for Owen's playing is absolute. Hope we hear from him very soon as it would be sad to miss such a great player.
5.
For the classic P-Bass thump I`d avoid the SD Quarter-Pounder. I`ve had them in a couple of basses, and to me they seemed to extend the highs and lows, but remove the mids - essentially de-Precisioning the sound - and have a slight "metallic" twang to them. Good pickups, but not classic P-bass sound, more modern sounding, in my opinion.
SD has a classic line that nails pretty much the P-Bass sound, I have one on a Franken-Bass and sounds great. Having said that you are totally right about the Quarter Pounders.

7. The Jaco I learned to love is Jaco the groove player, he's like a hyperactive child running up and down filling every hole left by the other musicians in the band. Incredible sense of timming and feel. I love some of his solos and most of his compositions but as a player he was a force of pure groove. Here are some of my favourites:
8.
I AM QUAID! ...er...I mean Higgie Thanks for the review Howard. Anyone looking for one please don't hesitate to PM me!
I did and you haven't answered!!!!!!!
9. This one works with the Zoom and it's cheap as chips. http://www.maplin.co.uk/footswitch-with-6....ordercode=DU99H
10. No soundclips?? that's not fair. I've been looking for one of these and even considering the John East MMSR so I'll send Higgie a private. Thanks for the info.
11. I have only one name for you BFM cabs!! I think Mr. Fitzmaurice is familiar with them. I got my hands on an Omni 10 (2x10) and I can't recommend them more: - Lightweight to the point of uncredibility. - They sound pretty much like your amp wants them to sound - I can get more volume with this 2x10 than the same TVX your using (and I was using for that matter) Right now I'm in bass heaven and can't believe it (This is the equivalence to dying and receiving 72 virgins that look like Jessica Alba, Christina Hendricks and Megan Fox) Yes they are that awesome!! [/over excitement]
12. Here are two youtube reviews of the PF-500 and PF-350. They sound great and the price makes them even more attractive. Ampeg Portaflex PF-350 bass head £269 http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~A...ad~ID~14719.asp Ampeg Portaflex PF-500 bass head £346 http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~A...ad~ID~14720.asp
13. Here is my Korg Pandora, it's a terrific piece of kit, this is a reluctant sale but I have to fund a new project. It's yours for £65 posted. I accept paypal. From the Korg site: The PX4D packs both guitar and bass functionality into a single unit (a first in the history of the Pandora series). Numerous high-quality effects using “REMS” modeling technology are built in. Contains a total of 158 effect types ranging from realistic amp sounds – including high-quality cabinets – to sophisticated effects. Provides 200 programs (100 preset / 100 user). Use up to seven effects simultaneously. Knob-based interface for quick and intuitive editing. The Phrase Trainer function offers a great way to learn by ear or to practice soloing. One hundred rhythm and bass patterns cover a variety of styles with realistic PCM sound. AUX IN jack lets you play along with external CD, MD, or MP3 audio sources. Key Transpose lets you shift the key of an audio source that's being input. The PX4D provides a Bass Canceller function that removes the sound of the bass from an external audio source. The built-in Auto Chromatic Tuner also provides a Mute function for silent tuning. Semi-transparent LCD illuminates the characters in inverse video when backlit. Two-way power supply lets you use either batteries or AC adaptor (sold separately).
14. Hey here is a sample of the Lakland Jerry Scheff this one has the same production Kent Armstrongs it is the first one on the site. http://www.edfriedland.com/equipment/
15. You should look at Acoustica Mixcraft it is cheap and even easier to use than Reaper, believe me I never thought I would find something easier to use. It is cheap and easy on the CPU. http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/ The software goes for £46 and has loads of drums patterns, loops, and vst's. That's what I'm using now and it's great.
16. Seen this lots of times and still brings the chuckles. That's what I call an Epic Fail!!
17. This is a very good one, it only contains tabs (unfortunately) but the information is great. http://wheatsbassbook.com/ It is a complete bass method covering theory and practice.
18. Well our mate Ed Friedland already reviewed one and it sounds absolutely great!! Enjoy!!!
19. Mike Mills is in my opinion one of the most melodic bass players along with Macca and Colin Moulding. His basslines fit the songs like a glove and tent to embelish them beautifully. He is one of my favourite bass players.
