1. Well if you wanted to hear how they sound, Doug Wimbish was playing one at NAMM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn57mzmLGzQ#t=135 And Here's him with Victor Wooten https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTpioN2g7Bg And yes I hate that bloody kid in the first video, too much young to have more talent than me.
2. "As many bassplayers I'm affected by GAS" it doesn't matter how many times we explain it to those non-players still doesn't sound very good.
3. Oh dear that's gorgeous!!!!! Interested in trades?
4. Ok I have no money to buy this but man I just got a stiffy watching those photos. what a beautiful piece of art..
5. I'll take one of those Thomanns, please pm me your Paypal account
6. Give us a quick review when it arrives.
7. Just look online (google, youtube, etc) It's Peavey so you won't hear a bad thing about them
8.
It's in my manual I'm sure, from memory it's 80hz in normal mode and allows down to 37hz when you engage the LF button. This topic is always followed by an argument about why I have a five string bass if my amp only goes down to 37hz......
I have the same filter in my Peavey Tour head and with it engaged the B string sounds tight and clear without boom. The theory is that B strings generate a lot of boom in the 80hz frequency range so they cut it off to avoid it.
9. Dude go Peavey and you'll never see it die! http://www.gear4musi...o-Amplifier/U6R In your price bracket, weights less than 20kg and is 200W. What more to ask!!! And for £159 you can get this one http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Peavey-MAX115-MKII-Bass-Combo-Amplifier/U6S Weights 22kg and 300W of pure Peavey power!!!!
10. Congrats mate, I was wondering where you were some days ago! Nice to see "The Mighty Thor" is still around and making great music.
11. To be honest I don't know for the life of me why oh why they had to change the old MiBass for this one. I tried the old version and fell in love with it right away. Lots of tonal options, good power, portable and looked great. This one I tried it and hated the sound. I'm waiting for one of the old ones to appear, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.
12. Oh I love the sound of that Axe!!
13. Is this still available? whereabouts are you?
14. Buy it! what's the worst that can happen? that you sell it round here and I take it from your hands? It's a win win win win situation.
15. Lackluster power from the amp? dude I'm running the 450 version of your amp through a BFM 2x10 cab and can play against 2 very loud guitar players and a loud drummer without pushing the amp. Maybe you should look into changing your cabs. I'm using a BFM Omni 10 cab which is designed for sound projection. I couldn't be happier with my setup, I'm even looking into getting one of those new Peavey MiniMax as a backup amp and maybe another Omni 10 if I can find one.
16.
Ryan Gosling is in a band called Dead Man's Bones. Can this man get any better?
Yes he can
17. I think that's not her, I read somewhere that they got upset with her as she was being "difficult".
18. I think you need to be more specific what you're looking for, Latin groove involve a lot and I mean it a lot of different styles. Each region has it's only music and fusions. South American music is very different from Central American and so on. Everything the guys here had advised only covers Brazilian and Cuban Music. I could recommend something a bit more fusion-ed and contemporaneous. Latin rock: - Carlos Vives Specially "El rock de mi pueblo" - Joe Vasconcellos - Cabas Merengue: - Orquesta International - Tono Rosario - Los Rosario Rock & folklore fusion - Liquado - Maracande - Irka y Tadeu - Xiomara Fortuna I'll post some samples when I get home.
19.
Excellent list by Bilbo, just a couple of additions: The fantastic cuban piano player Michel Camilo, with Anthony Jackson on bass. An example of Joao Bosco, first on Bilbo's list: http://youtu.be/Tk_CghlLAr4 The basis of the band in the previous vid is "Nosso Trio" with Ney Conceição on bass. Here is more with only the trio:
Sorry to be a nitpicker but Michael Camilo is not cuban, he's my compatriot from Dominican Republic.
20. You forgot to mention Norman Watt Roy as another Ashdown user. Having said that, all the people mentioned happen to use passive basses, I used to play a MAG300 combo and found that it didn't agree too much with active basses.
21. Bobby Vega? well I think he is Tiger Tony great.. You know GREEEEEEAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!
22. It solves dead spots, focuses the sound and increases sustain. It really works.
23.
This show keeps getting better ! Enjoy. https://www.youtube....h?v=UMfKewPnwr0
That bass sound, that bloody bass sound!! That's real sex on plank of wood.....
