1. Your VS-212 is 8 ohms as well, so you'd not get full power out of the head with that cab. You'd need a 4 ohm cab, and even then you'd struggle with only 30 watts I reckon.
 2. I use plain black Ernie Ball straps and have done for years, never had a problem with them, even when I had an SG Bass that had a bit of neck dive. For strap locks, Grolsch rubber washers:
 3. Picked up a new cab yesterday, an Ashdown LB 212: Got it for a very good price and it was only one street over from me, I couldn't pass it up!
 4. A wee blue 50cm cable for connecting a head to a cab, only selling as I have a new cab that needs a Speakon connecter. No pics at the minute but I'll get one later if needs be. Van Damme Blue Series cable and one angled and one straight Neutrik jack. Looking for £8 posted.
 5. http://www.axesrus.co.uk/Gibson-Style-s/1941.htm You'd need the Top Hats on the left hand side, although I don't know if you'd have Alpha or CTS-style pots. This bridge cover should do the trick as well: http://www.axesrus.co.uk/small-Bass-Bridge-Cover-p/bc2.htm
 6. Is this it? The bridge cover just looks like a standard one for a P Bass, the knobs look like regular SG style knobs, not sure about the tuners. I'd fire on some 2-a-side elephant ears personally. There's a BBOT bridge in the Marketplace just now that should fit and be an upgrade on the 2 saddle bridge that I believe you'd have on there. Pics would be nice!
 7.
The man has a point I get the whole Limelight thing regarding copyright issues/concerns. But lets be truthful, half of the appeal to most buyers is having the logo make it look like the real deal, without it it just another bass.....with the logo it is a replica - I'm guessing that's what most people would like without the hassle of having to source the logo, fit etc etc but as i say i get it - peeps will just be sourcing their own logo from now on.
I would rather have a blank headstock than a Fender logo on a bass that wasn't really a Fender. I really fail to understand the appeal of having a Fender logo when the owner knows it's not Fender and if the owners are to be believed, they're happy to tell anyone and everyone that their bass isn't a genuine Fender. If the Limelight basses are as good as they're cracked up to be then the lack of a Fender badge on the headstock shouldn't be a deal breaker. I don't agree that companies like Limelight should be manufacturing a product using another company's copyrighted logo. While I'm sure that these instruments are good in their own right, there's no doubt in my mind that the fact that they can be passed off fairly convincingly as the real deal are part of the reason that they've gained so much popularity. I really doubt the comapny would have grown as quickly had they been badged with a Limelight logo or left with a blank headstock.
 8.
Quote 1. Because I f***ing want want. Quote 2. That post is in reference to the other thread that led to this one.
Sorry, does that mean you're referring to Conan, the man who said: "This is in no way an attempt to stir things up!" "First of all, and to set the record straight, I have no beef with Limelight guitars. I have looked at a number of them on their website and some of them are beautiful looking instruments. A bit heavily relicked for my taste, but whatever floats your boat!" "I really don't have an axe to grind here, and am genuinely interested in what people think." "Oh, and I would quite like one myself - either a Burgundy Mist or Surf Green Jazz with matching headstock in light relic. The playability of a pre-CBS Fender for the price of a MIM Geddy Lee? You'd be daft not to!" Yep, quite clearly this man has an agenda.
 9.
In the unlikely event that anybody actually acknowledged my existence at a gig I would tell them it is a replica Fender built to my specifications by a talented luthier. Much the same as I used to tell anybody that asked that my Rickenfaker was actually made in Japan in the 70's.
So if you'll happily tell anyone who asks that it's not a Fender but a Fender-copy, why be so desperate for a Fender logo on the headstock?
And I think somebody kicked off a controversial subject, with their own agenda. Just my thoughts and yes even Darlingtonians are allowed that.
Wasn't the thread started by Discreet, who has a Limelight bass of his own? What's his agenda then?
 10.
I think that's a better position for it on the headstock. Edit: I think there may be a market for knock-off Nash decals!!
The one you posted was the one I was looking for! It looks much smarter, something a little bit different.
 11.
Yep. There is an opportunity of doing something really creative re. a headstock logo here. Hopefully it would be something a little more rock n roll than the Nash logo, though Nash basses seem to be pretty popular.

I like the Nash logo - it's very understated and classy. Exactly the opposite of Fender's florid script. I imagine most people would prefer something a bit more in your face, though.
Ah, you fellas beat me to it! Must've spent too long looking for a picture to post!
 12. I think the Nash headstock logo is much nicer than any Fender one I seen bar the original spaghetti logo. I like that you have the option of leaving the headstock blank as well. Blank headstocks always look cooler than some naff badge.
 13.
Jeans, Next, Gucci. They are of no importance to ME.
Well at least that sentence makes more sense than the last one. The jeans thing was supposed to be an analogy though, I wasn't suggesting that you actually place a high importance on what brand your jeans are, but it's the same thing to me, one brand marquerading as another at a much more affordable price point.
I have bought many Fenders in the last 39 years. They do not currently provide a reasonably priced bass in the specifications I would like. Somebody else does. Yes I would like it with Fender on the top because it is a homage to one of their earlier instruments that I adore. Can't afford real or custom shop. I am not buying it to make a profit, I'm buying it for Me to gig. The aesthetics are for ME. Most luthier built instruments you will lose money on. That isn't an issue for me. I would have bought this instrument from Peterbuilt except they do not put Fender logos on. I really don't give a monkey's wang about anybody else's thought's about how shallow I am.
So let me ask you this: If someone came up to you at a gig and said "Hey buddy, nice Fender", would you say "thanks" and leave it at that, or would you tell them that it's not in fact a Fender but it's - in effect - a knock-off?
 14.
Jeans Next and Gucci are of little import
"Are of little import"?
 15. The best thing to do would be to buy the Wilkinsons from somewhere like Axesrus, line them up and if they don't fit, send them back. As I said in the other thread, my Fender tuners fit fine on the back of my Tele Bass headstock and in theory both the headstock and the tuner plates should be the same shape.
 16. Sorry, am I missing something? What I understand from this thread is a company who makes copies of a larger, better known company's basses is going to stop using the copyrighted logo of said larger, better known company. It seems like a lot of members are very disappointed by the fact that if they buy one of these non-Fender basses it'll no longer carry a Fender decal. Do they also get upset when their jeans from Next don't have a Gucci logo?
 17.
Hi Ashdown, Could I just ask you to clarify this point? You say you do not loan amps but a couple of years ago I remember a large UK store advertising a raft of discounted Ashdown stock as ex artist loan stock or words to that effect.
Maybe they did, and now they don't?
 18. Sorry mate, I don't drive so I couldn't meet you anywhere I'm afraid. I need to get rid of my ABM 210 first so if I do that and can organise transport I'll be in touch.
 19. Could you deliver to Glasgow by any chance?
 20. When I first got the neck it had been drilled for Hipshot HB-2s which are the same footprint but a couple of screw holes were slightly off, so I had them filled and re-drilled. With the original holes the base plates ran very close to the top of the headstock, but they were repositioned so they sit straighter and aren't too close to the edge.
