I've got an early '90s Peavey Foundation body in black. Made in the USA, from poplar I believe, it's very light. Quite a few chips, dings and scratches so it's probably a candidate for a refinish. Hardware-wise, it comes with the strap buttons, back plate, jack plate and bridge base plate. Asking for £25 if you pickup from Glasgow (Southside), can post too at cost. Can get more pics as well when the light's a bit better. SOLD.

Where to get thicker neck screws
Jono Bolton replied to Jono Bolton's topic in Repairs and Technical
Why not plug the holes & redrill for the smaller screws?
I did think about it, but I don't have the necessary tools to do it myself, and taking it to a tech would be both costly and time consuming. I use the Peavey on a weekly basis for my band so new screws for the neck would be the most cost effective and time efficient solution. There was a Foundation neck plate and screw set on eBay recently but someone bought it before I got paid, such is my luck! -
I'd keep the Squier logo personally, but then it's your bass, not mine! At the very least though it would save you the laborious task of removing the old one, applying a new one and re-lacquering the headstock.

I have a Peavey Foundation bass and the original neck screws were rusted pretty badly and I couldn't get them clean, so I replaced them with a set from Axes R Us. The new screws though are standard Fender-style, and are slightly thinner than the original ones. The neck fits pretty tight in the pocket but I can still wiggle the neck slightly. Where could I buy screws that are thicker than than the Fender-types I've got? I stupidly binned the originals.
For reference here's a WD on my Sea Foam Green 65 Precision...
Is that the cheaper or more expensive WD tort?

My Squier Matt Freeman P Bass is an incredible instrument, it's unbelievably well made and finished. The neck is one of the nicest I've played. Nothing needs changed on it either, I left mine stock.

I don't know if this is of any interest as it was a custom order, but I have a wiring harness made by Jon that I had briefly in my Peavey Foundation. It's master volume, a three-way switch (Gibson-style), master tone and jack. Included are 2 chrome, dome-top knobs to fit the pots. All in this has cost me over £50, so I'm asking for £35 inc. postage. Can arrange for pics of it if required.
I would like to replace the pickup wires on my jazz bass with cloth wiring. Is this a possible D.I.Y. task or does it need done by a professional?
The wires on my Wizard Thumper came off and I soldered them back on with no problems, I just made sure that I didn't have the soldering iron on the contact point for too long as the winding wire is so thin I didn't want to break it.

I had a bass delivered last week and I've got all the packaging for it if anyone wants it? There's an angled box, a larger rectangular box for putting the angled one inside, and a load of bubble wrap & brown paper too. Perfect if you need to courier a bass. Pickup from the Southside of Glasgow.

WOW! I love Nash basses, some of the work they do is incredible. Congrats on the great win!
I love my Matt freeman. Popped in a kiorgan loom, dimarzio pups and a gotoh 201 bridge...... My does it play and sound awsome. :-)
Personally I wouldn't change anything on it. I've only had it since Saturday so we'll see how that goes but I like the sound as it is so the stock pickup will stay, I did think I'd take the bridge off and put a standard BBOT as I'd always thought the high mass bridges on this & the Classic Vibes looked a bif naff in the pictures but it doesn't look too bad in real life. Apart from a rattle from the G tuner it's fine as it is.

A mixed review for Parcelforce; bought a bass that was taken to the Post Office before the 5pm cut off on Wednesday and was sent via Parcelforce 48, but when I called them on Thursday they said it was booked at 5.15pm and still hadn't been picked up. It was picked up late on Thursday afternoon and should have been delivered today, but it was at the Glasgow depot on Friday night and they delivered it on the Saturday instead. So it was early, but still late as it should've been picked up on Wednesday and arrived on Friday. Funnily enough, they were delivering a parcel for a neighbour upstairs who wasn't in and asked me to take it, and he was having an EBS cab delivered at the same time! Never realised the was another bassist in my building.
Really? that's the 1st bad word I've had re Bass Doc's work.
Yep. Sent him my original plate so he could match it up exactly (or so he said), massive gap around the neck and the cutout for the pickup was both really jagged and in the wrong position.
-
If the stuff the Bass Doc used was from WD, then I'd go for that. I had a Bass Doc tort scratchplate for my P Bass that looked really nice, I would have kept it if it weren't for the fact that the scratchplate was so poorly made. In hindsight I should have bought the WD one instead and paid the extra £20 for one that fit properly.
