1.
2. Boring, would suit racist, christian or possibly racist christian
Seriously?
 2.
Band 1. Straight forward no gigging opportunity. Great for an older guy that merely wants to play with other guys for fun. Band 2. Could be a money maker, looks legit. Good for an experienced guy that looking for paying gigs. Band 3. Never been big on start ups, 99% never see their first gig. Also not big on more rehearsals than gigs. Good for a guy with no experience looking for a chance to play with others and get ome band experience under his belt. Band 4. Not much of an opportunity, sounds like a wannabe action to me. Because of the genres I'd say good for a teenager a young person with song writing aspirations. Blue
I'd say you're spot on apart from number four where I think you're being a bit harsh - not for me, but would suit a younger guy looking for experience in writing or someone with some time on their hands who likes that range of genres
 3. Lovely, I used to have the four string version, cracking piece of kit, wish I had the money to have one again GLWTS
 4. As above really, tab fine too if you have it, but transcription would be preferred, thanks
 5. Thanks for that, looks good
 6. Check out Firebird, Bill Steer of Carcass and Napalm Death fame playing blues rock, the Grand Union record is a belter, Blue Flame the first track off it is great.
 7. Gave it a listen yesterday, good record - got that Black Sabbath meets Motorhead vibe; fans of High On Fire, early Mastodon and Orange Goblin will find much to enjoy
 8. For me, I think it would be a Wal, ACG or Status five string, however I've not played many high end instruments so I'd want to familiarise myself with what's available before committing to anything
 9.
Although I doubt this Vamps guy has an endorsement, I can't imagine boy band members shift that many units. ( no disrespect to boy bands).
Why not? He was playing a Stingray on ITV's prime time Saturday night Flagship show, that's got to be worth a lot of advertising to Musicman, whoever's playing it.
 10. I was thinking about that, maybe a Sei re-fin? Particularly given the LEDs; the yin-yang finish was quite tastefully done
 11. Will check that out, didn't their bass player die a year or so ago?
 12. G&L L2500 Tribute G&L SB2 USA EBS HD350 EBS NEO 2X12 the only onw I struggle to justify is the SB2, as it gets very little use now I've gone back to five strings, I've been thinking about putting it up for trade, but I do like the idea of having a Precision shaped four string incase I run into one of those band leaders who don't like five strings.
 13.
Saw Slipknot on Monday in Cardiff motorpoint arena. With Suicidal Tendencies supporting. Top gig and Slipknot's new Bassist has a few lovely Status basses..
I would've liked to go to that tour, be great to see SikTh and Suicidal Tendencies open and then I could've sat at the back with a beer and watched the headliners. Between Slipknot and Muse it's nice Status basses are gracing a few more arenas these days
 14. We tend to end on a slow one or two, typically Under The Bridge and/or Thinking Out Loud, iy normally ends the set well as all the couples come up for a slow dance and the change of feel does seem to stop the demands for more songs afterwards.
 15.
Hi Martin, Nice to see your new rig! We'll have to have another "mini bash" soon and try out some more gear - hopefully with no horses running around on the M23 this time!
If you do, give me a shout - I'm in that area and always keen to meet other bassists
 16.
Although im much more used to playing 4 strings, i can play a 5 string almost as well. I do get the idea of playing around at the 5th fret, less hand movement etc, but to my ears it just doesn't sound the same as playing on the E sting as if it were a 4 string bass most of the time. Maybe its the basses ive played, but i cant get that growl and energy im used to by playing the B string around the 5th fret.
No, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. In one of our medleys we go back and forth from No Woman No Cry into So Lonely a couple of times, same C, G, A, F progression on both, however I play the Bob Marley part starting on the C at the eighth fret of the E string, down to the G on the eighth fret of the B, and The police parts starting on the C third fret of the A string. The contrast in tones helps to differentiate between the two songs, making the whole thing sound better IMO
 17.
Jamiroquai. I know they haven't released anything for a while, but you can pretty much regard all of their material as one album spread over the years. And it's pretty consistent, despite the bass player changes.
New record due out this year
 18.
Apparently on a fair few, though from Keefs book Bill Wyman never seemed that bothered - apparently his attitude was, you`ve written the lines, where`s the point of teaching me, just record them.
Ah, I remember reading a story where they'd been in the studio, Wyman had gone off for lunch, came back and found the bass had been recorded and wasn't happy. I could easily have got that wrong though
 19.
Crack The Skye is a masterpiece IMO... best metal album of the 00s.
It's a superb record, I prefer Leviathan, but it's still one of my favourite albums
 20.
Mastodon and I'm a big fan too... hence why they're falling down festival line ups.
Not sure I agree with that, the Remission/Leviathan sounds different to Blood Mountain, which definitely sounds differnt to Crack The Sky, which again sounds different to The Hunter and Once More Around The Sun. Personally I wish we could have back the Mastodon who wrote Remission and Leviathan, but I get why they've progressed. As for bands that always do what you expect, I'd go for Slayer - you know what they're going to do, and wouldn't have it any other way
 21. Didn't Keith Richards play on a few Stones songs? Much to the irritation of the bass player, who's name escapes me
 22. Not until August, plenty of time to get a dep
 23. I really like Leviathan by Mastodon, which is a concept album based on Herman Melville's Moby Dick; it doesn't tell the story, at least not in a linear fashion, but the songs are all based influenced by parts of the book.
 24.
I wish it was as easy as that, but why would the seller cough up?
Because it's the law, though I appreciate it'll be harder when they're in another country.
 25.
No
Not your problem then, it's up to the seller/shop to claim the insurance and then either refund you or get you the bass yyou paid for
