2.
Anybody?!?
no, I still stick with the original:
 3. I also believe that it is more about how and what you play in an acoustic set, not the instrument itself. personally I can't play double bass what I'd prefer to use in an acoustic set, so I got myself a cheap old eko B4 fretless acoustic bass and fitted a piezo under the bridge because it is a similar bridge construction as a double bass: the resulting sound is awesome and very close to a double bass, but of course you still need an amp plus a suitable preamp for the piezo like the l.r. baggs para di..

 6. I was very tempted, but I just bought an older black one with pickguard and all maple neck in the states. this is a real bargain and a fantastic bass. go and grab it someone.
 7. the kemper is great for both bass and guitar, but well, if you don't need an amp for band rehearsals in the studio, I'd also suggest a decent preamp preferably with tubes. these start used around 500€ (alembic. ampeg, etc.) if you want something great go the custom route like I did: or get a demeter. usually miking a bassamp/cab is much more difficult to handle for a beginner in basstonerecording
 8. for my next fretted pj bass, I'll probably choose again the nordstrand p with a nordstrand big split at the bridge as I already have them in my guild pilot fretless. love the tones that they deliver.
 9. +1 for a badass that will "tighten" up the sound a bit. set the strings low and a preamp with high treble and low boost, in addidtion to the already mentioned I 'd also suggest an audere or aquilar preamp. edit: and also cocco steels might be a good string choice.
 10. not to forget the guild pilot basses...
 11. classic. I like it, a really great combination.
 12. congrats, what a gorgeous instrument!
 13.
Can't stop playing this, groove in bucketloads! Heard it on the Soul Lounge 10 compilation, and I just can't get enough of it! What's your favourite groove at the moment?
great, I love it! thanks for sharing.

 16.
Well they're not REALLY high end but my two Warwicks have been gigged to death and my go to bass now is a USA Spector ns5 I got second hand off here, If I could afford another brand new USA Spector it'd still get beer and sweat on it at pub gigs, I'd still do neck bends and it'd have knocks on it, basses are for playing not hiding away in a case... having said that I do baby them between weekend gig abuse
true.
 17. thunderbolt still only is reserved for professional and expensive audio interfaces. to start please consider a good usb interface like this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/focusrite_saffire_6_usb.htm because you will need a microphone input and a hi-z input for bass/guitar. learn this stuff and don't spend more until you really know your stuff.
 18.
Can you recommend a decent audio interface?
no. how many channels do you need? what is the budget? usb, firewire or thunderbolt? inbuilt fx?....
Can Garageband supply the drum parts I'm looking for?
probably, but what are you looking for?
