  1. Check out Hot Rize , proper bluegrass with a p bass
  2. If you want to scratch the valve itch go all valve , the hybrids don't do it for me although I like the m_pulse , I've got an svt cl and a peavey classic120/tb raxx , they sound great but I never take em out anymore, too heavy , I always use class D ! Btw I've never really got the warm thing , to me a good valve amp sounds glassy, open and clear and sometimes gritty,
  3. Hot Rize/Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers
  4. I love mononeon and think he's the most exciting and original player around but can't see what that has to do with Sharay Reed You say Sharay is just a session player but he like mononeon has original music under his own name out there , they're both coming out of church too and mononeon has depped for Sharay in Corey Henry's band, Sharay is way more in the contemporary gospel tradition and one of the masters of it whereas mononeon is a maverick trailblazer and for me a total genius but why on earth use this thread about appreciating a great player to say he's not as good as someone else?
  5. RIP one of my fave groove players
  6. Admittedly nothing groundbreaking and there are plenty of people doing this type of cover vid but I haven't heard anyone else do it this well, cut above for me
  7. Way ahead of the curve
  8. No but I have really enjoyed hearing world class bass players like mononeon , Tim Lefebvre and Nick Campbell banging through wedding tunes and doing their thing ( and I've nicked lots of licks)
  9. Not sure what you mean, do you mean she plays it on a different part of the neck to bootsy , I thought the vid wasn't really a proper accurate transcription vid but an overview of bootsys approach and thought it put that across well
  10. Alan "Snoop" Evans killin it with Fred Hammond Check the lick at 20secs
  11. Don't suppose you asked him if stripping it back to original was possible?
  12. 2nd hand chowny chb ? Great instruments for the money , I picked one up cheap on here , really impressed with it
  13. Possibly the very bass in question, intonation isn't perfect but I've got close enough by moving the bridge around having wound the threads up just above flush
  14. Yeah spot on mate , swapped the string and problem solved , previous owner had the bridge a good 1cm to far forward Re. the bridge, thanks for that , I thought as much ,didn't seem right with the threads sticking out
  15. Yeah I'll take pics , now I've measured the bridge position it was too far forward so I wonder if the string is duff cos previously the spot that was on the saddle is now part of the vibrating string?
  16. Got my chowny chb2 that's the 34" one out today and started messing with the action and now the G has got a mad phasing double note quality to it, should the threads that the circular adjusters go on be up inside the lower part of the bridge cos before they were slightly proud and have marked the top so I thought it that doesn't seem right so moved em up inside
  17. Love this guy , saw him on that sbl brazil vid and checked him out, awesome
  18. Check the solo at 2.35 absolutely stunning, one of my favourite players, Unbelievably I first heard about seth when he depped for me in a ropey function band! Look at him now
  19. It's why I've got 10 odd basses
  20. I think of scammers as faceless untraceable characters but an actual bloke I have mutual fb friends with makes my blood boil
  21. I can't believe this silly man is doing this under his own name while already in trouble, surely his band mates know? What a silly man
