I had a Shergold 4 / 12 a few years ago. Loved it. Used bass pedals when I played the 12 string. Very versatile but incredibly heavy, infact, it was heavier than a heavy thing that was really heavy. I could only play it for about an hour before it wore a giant groove in my shoulder.
Played quite a few venues where just one 'new' neighbour complained and messed it up for everyone. If you move to, or buy a house next to a pub or a club then you know what to expect and shouldn't be surprised.
I would have thought that all the cabs would use the same drivers so why not just use the 2, 1x10s with both amps? Easy to check, just whip the speakers out and have a look.
Some info about F.A.L. here, http://www.karillon.com/fal.html and here, http://forum.speakerplans.com/stuff-from-the-early-days-roger-squires_topic28079.html and an advert here, http://www.vintageguitarandbass.com/adDetails/235
I've never heard of it either but a quick google search produced this.

I haven't tried the Kent Armstrong Lipstick pickups but I did put a pair of Danelectro lipsticks on my Jazz inspired bass and was totally underwhelmed by the result.
I found this as well and when I voiced my opinion that I didn't think that the ST900 was that loud I was classed as some sort of looney. I brought the bass down a bit and turned the mids up a bit, not a lot though and found that I liked the sound a lot and the peak light stayed off. It's loud enough for me for any gig I'm likely to play and if it needs to be louder I'll just DI through the P.A. That also means that everything else would need micing as well.
Also, don't forget that a 900 watt amp is just a tad short of only being twice as loud as a 100w amp. I'm not going to mention the valve watts verses transistor watts debate.
