  1. I can only agree, certainly the best and the inbuilt modem actually works! Since my then band folded during covid, I've had one sitting around doing nothing. I think I might just sell it. It will be a lot cheaper than the prices you've seen.
  2. I think the yellow wire is in the wrong place!
  3. Trollies are great until you get to a kerb or door step or stairs or a step up to a door step, etc.
  4. If I may expand on this, ALL drummers not only stick their cases where you want to be but also spread their entire kit and bits everywhere while setting up and taking down.
  5. Don't forget that to the ear, a 1000w amp is only twice as loud as a 100w amp.
  6. I don't care what anyone says and they'll aways say a watt is a watt but, valve amps are loud! Transistor amps are only half as loud as valve amps and class D amps are only half as loud as transistor amps. I do use a class D amp myself but only because I'm getting old and valve and transistor amps are getting heavier. But I accept the limitations and 600w class D is loud enough for me. Back in the day though, a 100w valve head and a pair of 4 x 12s would have been more than enough for any venue without P.A. support. In fact, there was no P.A. support!
  7. It seems that they've forgotten to make any left handed versions. Another one off the list then.
  8. I'd play that and with pride.
  9. Northern Ireland is part of the UK so it's the same as posting to any part of the UK. Southern Ireland is a different matter as they are part of the EU.
  10. Do you mean PLI? If so try AmpBand. https://www.ampband.co.uk/public_liability_for_musicians.php
  11. Just get him to hit it harder and don't bother with the sub. Also, perhaps he could tune it better.
  12. But, how many who have played it, played it correctly?
  13. I couldn't get the old ones to stay in my ears either so never bothered. Are the new ones that much better? Thanks for the review.
  14. I've done it and I was happy with the result. There are many ways of doing it but the safest way is to just use sand paper. Start off with something like 60 grit and when you get it to where you want it, start using finer grades to make it really smooth. Finish the neck in your choice of finish. Oil, varnish or leave it as it is.
  15. I don't know which is louder but my 2x10 is truly amazing! keeps up with 2 guitarists and drummer no problem at all in all venues and even outdoors. It defies the laws of physics!
  16. The sockets can get dirty with no use and the amp can stop working. Using a short lead between the sockets can negate the problem.
  17. I bought one of those new in, surprisingly, 1972. Left handed, it cost me £220 in sunburst. I don't like sunburst but a solid colour would have been 10% extra and I couldn't afford it. I had to order it from my friendly, local music shop and when it eventually arrived, it was rubbish. Yes the neck was out of line and when straightened up, soon found its way back again. The bridge adjusted itself constantly and the neck was really thick and hard to play, for me at least. I was a tad disappointed. 1972 was not a good year for Fender!
  18. I'd love to try the vast majority of basses but being left handed, they just don't make them. But I live in hope.
  19. I've tried and use Newtone short scale strings. Just as good as their long scale. They are excellent! Just remember to go up a gauge if you don't want a floppy E string, because nobody wants that.
  20. Eleanor Rigby, 62 Stone, The Dolphin pub in Hastings, A bass I made through a Genz Benz Shuttle with Behringer BDI21 and Barefaced 2 x 10.
  21. They do look nice don't they.
  22. But with the doors closed you can't see them.
  23. I always go up a gauge on short scale basses and ended up with 50 - 110. Works for me.
  24. I've mounted a Genz-Benz shuttle 6 to my pedal board and plug my preamp, a BDI21 into the effects return and it's brilliant.
