  1. I'M LIKING THIS.
  2. That might even put Amazon to shame.
  3. Interesting, but I much prefer the sound of EL34s.
  4. Anything Danelectro is lighter than a light thing that's very light and they sound and play great!
  5. Mrs Bert and I saw The Hollies in Brighton a couple of weeks ago, yes they're still touring and I have to say that the mix was pretty poor and got worse as the show went on but in the opposite way. By the end the bass and drums were virtually inaudible as well as the backing vocals while the guitars seemed to get more predominant and trebly. If you know the hollies at all, then you'll know that the Hollies' sound is predominantly vocal harmonies and when they're missing it's pretty noticeable, especially on He Ain't Heavy.
  6. I once bought an empty speaker cabinet, 2 x 15, and it arrived with just the address label stuck to the cab.
  7. Something like these are perfect for the job. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B094YMMPXX?pd_rd_i=B094YMMPXX&pf_rd_p=20ea8c47-afc4-4e29-bb67-5046c8898146&pf_rd_r=Z2DSSW5P706C08XMVZ6E&pd_rd_wg=p8frP&pd_rd_w=nOMoH&pd_rd_r=8b4d1e97-d2c0-4d88-a391-3b95778d906f and a nail file.
  8. I would suspect that if the slot was not offset, then the amount of material between the screw hole and the string slot would not be enough to stop the saddle from breaking in two.
  9. I don't know. Once I found out how good Tuff Cab is I stopped looking.
  10. I used these with Tuff Cab. Great finish and very hardwearing. Duratex seems to only be available in the US. https://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=TUFFROLL01C
  11. This is what you want, comes in many colours too. https://www.djsupplies.co.uk/products/tuffcabblackspeakerpaint5kg
  12. We did it and it worked.
  13. Here you go. https://smallbusiness.co.uk/registering-a-company-name-a-small-business-guide-2549037/
  14. But I use wireless.
  15. I can hear a can of worms opening here!
  16. I can only agree. The shop that lent it to me to try only had a 50w, if they'd of had a 100w, I would have bought! Perfect in every way. All good amps were heavy then, this was when transistor amps were coming in but that were generally no at all loud and pretty rubbish.
  17. Newtone make a set of strings specially for this.
  18. If you rely on the amp for compression, what do you do when you change your amp?
  19. Pirate radio, mainly Wonderful Radio London and my local record shop appropriately named The Record Shop!
  20. You need one of these. https://retrovibe.co.uk/product/retrovibe-18mm-spacing-bass-bridge-top-load-hand-modified-wilkinson-hardware/
  21. Thanks and you're right but also great for tri-amped and 4 way mono.
  22. An excellent 2 / 3 /4 way stereo crossover that just works. I used it in 2 way mode for a while and then as a spare just in case but it was never needed and as I now have no band and no need for a PA it will never be used again so it's about time that it found a new home. £70 posted. What Behringer say. The CX3400 stereo 2-way/3-way/ mono 4-way crossover provides the ultimate in high-precision audio frequency separation, thanks to its state-of-the-art circuitry, superior-grade components, ultra low-noise op amps and balanced I/O connectivity. CX3400 features include: Limiters on all crossover outputs for optimal loudspeaker protection; an adjustable Time Delay for proper phase-alignment of the drivers; High-Frequency (HF) horn equalization for constant-directivity compensation; and a mono “Low Sum” Output (stereo modes only), which is ideal for your subwoofer applications. 23. Focusrite Saffire PRO 40 £130 SOLD! BEHRINGER ADA8200 £100 The long version. I bought the Saffire pro 40 to use with my MacBook Pro with Logic. I wanted to record all the drums separately which would have used all of the 8 mic inputs so I bought the ADA8200 which increased the inputs to 16, perfect for recording the whole band at once and also great for silent(ish) rehearsing. I set it all up and got it working great. I invited the rest of the band round to record our 4th album only to be met with total indifference from the drum department. Eventually the drummer decided that he didn’t say anything of the sort and wanted to record. Then Covid struck. Then it finished but the band was no more and so were my recording prospects, so I’m selling the Pro 40 and ADA8200 Neither of which have been used other then setting them up and taking them down and putting back in their boxes. I bought the Pro 40 used but the ADA8200 was brand new. Preferably, I like to sell them together and the price would be £220 posted with an optical cable included.
