I can hear a can of worms opening here!

I can only agree. The shop that lent it to me to try only had a 50w, if they'd of had a 100w, I would have bought! Perfect in every way. All good amps were heavy then, this was when transistor amps were coming in but that were generally no at all loud and pretty rubbish.

Amps with Compession or separate Compression pedal??
bertbass replied to Linus27's topic in General Discussion
If you rely on the amp for compression, what do you do when you change your amp? -

An excellent 2 / 3 /4 way stereo crossover that just works. I used it in 2 way mode for a while and then as a spare just in case but it was never needed and as I now have no band and no need for a PA it will never be used again so it's about time that it found a new home. £70 posted. What Behringer say. The CX3400 stereo 2-way/3-way/ mono 4-way crossover provides the ultimate in high-precision audio frequency separation, thanks to its state-of-the-art circuitry, superior-grade components, ultra low-noise op amps and balanced I/O connectivity. CX3400 features include: Limiters on all crossover outputs for optimal loudspeaker protection; an adjustable Time Delay for proper phase-alignment of the drivers; High-Frequency (HF) horn equalization for constant-directivity compensation; and a mono “Low Sum” Output (stereo modes only), which is ideal for your subwoofer applications. Focusrite Saffire PRO 40 £130 SOLD! BEHRINGER ADA8200 £100 The long version. I bought the Saffire pro 40 to use with my MacBook Pro with Logic. I wanted to record all the drums separately which would have used all of the 8 mic inputs so I bought the ADA8200 which increased the inputs to 16, perfect for recording the whole band at once and also great for silent(ish) rehearsing. I set it all up and got it working great. I invited the rest of the band round to record our 4th album only to be met with total indifference from the drum department. Eventually the drummer decided that he didn’t say anything of the sort and wanted to record. Then Covid struck. Then it finished but the band was no more and so were my recording prospects, so I’m selling the Pro 40 and ADA8200 Neither of which have been used other then setting them up and taking them down and putting back in their boxes. I bought the Pro 40 used but the ADA8200 was brand new. Preferably, I like to sell them together and the price would be £220 posted with an optical cable included. An excellent transaction. Bought and paid for my Fender Rumble in seconds. Thanks.

How about a bit of 1/2" ply the right size and a jig saw, oh, and a drill to drill the fixing holes.

Has anyone bought a bass on a whim just cos of its looks?
bertbass replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
Being left handed I don't have a lot of choice. -
60s, don't forget Wem / Wilson Rapers and Sapphires, Futurama and Hagstrom especially the 8 string bass.

I use one of these, https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Koenig-Meyer-14044-Stool-black-fabric/art-ACC0004958-000?campaign=GShopping/GB&ProgramUUID=HADAqJarPzAAAAFlea9yjI.G&gclid=CjwKCAjwxOCRBhA8EiwA0X8hi6TLgopASRDVbA3UecGjNJ_dqwyVBK-faAW8BF-x-dfcEh6XJF1MfxoCBWMQAvD_BwE It's excellent and has no problem supporting 6 feet tall and 18 and a bit stone me. You can find them in many shops, not just the one above. It's got a bit more expensive than when I bought mine though. You can also buy a back rest for it.

My trusty friend of a few years has to go. No band or gigs on the horizon and I’d rather it gets used than sit here gathering dust. 500 watts, great sound and condition, super reliable and light and comes with mains and speaker leads and excellent condition padded gig / shoulder bag. £300 posted. Any questions just message me.
