  1. I only stream music now. The only place I could play a disc was in the car but our new car doesn't have a CD player, only Bluetooth, so that's that for me. Besides, even I can't scratch an mp3! 😄
  2. That is a beauty! If you find that it really doesn't suit your physicality then maybe getting a 4 string and tuning down a half step will work for you. That way all your open strings will be useful for the flat keys you play in.
  3. SOLD Rotosound Swing 66. Brand new in their packets. Balanced tension for BEAD tuning. Gauges 135 100 75 55. £18 posted. Mint Green 3ply P pickguard. Fits USA/Mex P bass m/b/m. £12 posted. Black TUSQ XL nut for P bass. Brand new in the package 1 5/8" £8 posted. Fender Precision '65-'67 period correct decals x2. Real metallic ink. Bought from Oldfret in the USA. Restoration quality, the best! £15 for the pair, posted. Thanks for looking, Simon.
  4. A used set of Innovation Super Silvers that are played in with life left in them. Great big sound and friendly to your fingers. £35 posted Thanks.
  5. A budget way of getting there for you could be a Zoom B3. There's an Acoustic 360 amp and cab simulator and a whole plethora of delays and equaliser options. I love mine.
  6. Dunlop Superbright steels are my favourite rounds for my P bass. Relatively inexpensive, well balanced and an easy tension.
  7. Kind of. The Ultralites took half a pound off exactly, Which felt like more due to the weight coming off at the headstock. Levers and fulcrums etc... Not sure what the knobs and neckplate took off but considering the stock ones were chrome plated brass, going aluminium certainly helped! It was much easier to play and therefore got used a lot more after those upgrades. Cheaper than buying a new bass and going through that whole crap shoot.
  8. Why not fit out your P bass with Hipshot Ultralites, an aluminium neck plate and aluminium knobs? I did this to an already light P bass and got it down to well under 8lbs. No change in tone or neck dive. Wish I'd kept it actually!
  9. Wel jel. (as the kids say I think) Happy NBD!
  10. Totally understand. Burgundy Mist is a personal fave of mine too. Shell Pink if you're brave enough.

  12. This! Adding 2 or three washers maybe all it needs. Worked wonders for me on an old P bass I had which had gone full banana. Try it and go for some light gauge strings too. It would be a shame to have to change anything on your old pal.
