  1. She doesn't need the money.
  2. Does anyone here have one of these? Any good? I think they look the biz with the rosewood board.
  3. It's so easy to laugh..
  4. Dimarzio Model P always sound great to me. Never had a bass that didn't benefit from the upgrade. PBXN very good too. 👍
  5. Not forgetting Episode 4 (string) - A New Hope. The one where everyone realises they should have just stuck with that P bass in the first place and saved themselves a fortune.
  6. I'm in the process of building a bitsa PJ and fancied putting the bridge pickup really close to the bridge like Norman did so I can get a bit of that cool Rhythm Stick sound. Upon sleuthing around on the net I've discovered that his trusty P bass was still just that at the time, no J pickup! The pickguard is gone and the brass plate is in situ but still just the sole P pickup. Really surprised me! Here he is miming with the band to HMWYRS on TOTP: Here's what I was going for, not so sure I need to now! 😄..
  7. 🙃 I meant Panos could consider a Sire to replace his lost bass ✌️
  8. Might be The Smiths song they named themselves after?
  9. Angel Dust is a frickin masterpiece!
  10. The Stone Roses L.A. Woman - The Doors Songs For The Deaf - QOTSA Californication - RHCP Make A Jazz Noise Here - Frank Zappa Kind Of Blue - Miles Davis The Clown - Charles Mingus Any Madness album
  11. https://www.warmanguitars.co.uk/product/p-bass-stealth-pickup-8-79kohm-and-4-79-henries/ These have a good reputation then. Don't let the k's worry you, I've read a lot of guys in heavy bands like them.
  12. I've got an '82, same colour, great basses! GLWTS
  13. Same here. Didn't expect it at all. I was at Glastonbury at the time and a page from their daily festival paper blew into my legs. I picked it up and the first thing I saw was the announcement of his death. Weird, profound and even poetic in a way. Was on my mind the rest of the weekend. Amy too. I believe hers was just a matter of time though.
  14. I'm not playing in a band anymore or for the foreseeable so I just don't need an amp this powerful. Plus we need the room! Bump for £250..
  15. No I'm the second owner. I bought it from Project Music in Exeter in 2017. And yes, I did have the neck stripped by the tech I use upon arrival when he was giving it the once over. I totally forgot about that! I had it done so it would feel like some of the other CS basses that had stripped necks that I'd tried as I don't like glossy necks. I'll have to amend my description of it!.. Done. ^ It was originally sold by Manson's in Exeter: https://www.mansons.co.uk/product/fender-custom-shop-62-p-bass-heavy-relic-vintage-white-matching-headstock-6938
  16. I've read a review somewhere saying that they replaced the broken pickup in their '68 P with a Seymour Duncan Antiquity ii P and it sounded perfect, the same as before. Can't find the link though sorry!
  17. It's 44mm at the nut, 7.25 radius I think, and front to back it's a very comfy rounded D shape. Not super slim and flat like some reissues can be, and not chunky either. For me at least it is the perfect fit. I pretty much don't notice the neck on this bass. it's always allowed me to just play. Very user friendly if you know what I mean. I didn't actually know it had a full width neck until yesterday actually! Another Basschatter asked me to measure it. I'd always assumed it was a B width neck because it's so easy to play and also because I had a mij '62 P with a wide neck once and found that a bit of a chore to get around on. I don't have any photos with the covers off sorry, really should have taken some.. I've packed it up now ready to go - please don't make me look at it again, we've said our goodbyes already! 😥
