  4. Bump for offers and trades
  5. Bumpski for trades and offers
  6. You can use PA / studio gear via the effects loop on the VTRM with the 100% mix engaged. DBX, Drawmer, TC etc all do rack compressors. Some are better for bass than others...check out the many compressors on Ovnilab. I use a TC G-Major multi effects with built in compressor rack unit....works for me
  7. Price dropped to £4,100 Here’s my Wal Mk3 5 string for sale or trade. I bought it in 2012 from the original owner. The bass was originally built for him in 1997 and comes with the original grey Wal case. In anticipation for the bass’s 21st birthday I sent the electrics down to Wal in April for a full refurb. I have gigged it but also taken great care of this bass and it is still in very good condition. There are a few small marks, one on the lower horn, 2 on the back and slight marks on the headstock tip. None are very noticeable. The side and front LED’s were fitted by SIM’s when the bass was originally built and controlled by a switch on the back plate. The neck is flame maple with elements of birds eye in there as well. It is bolt on with a 34 inch scale and 24 frets in good condition. Rosewood fretboard 17mm string spacing at the bridge Gold hardware Body has a mahogany core with figured Shedua top Weight 4.2kg (9.4 lbs) Brass nut Schaller strap locks fitted Collection from Aberdeen or EU shipping (due to rosewood fretboard / CITES)
  8. The Gallery have pricing for replacement of a fretboard on their site from £280...even if it cost you £400 you've still got a great Smith bass for £3k. Good job I'm not looking for a fretless :-)
  9. Personally I would only regularly travel an hour to play with a band if I was really enjoying the music and the company. Once it stops being fun then the travel starts to become a chore.
  10. I use Set List Helper and its been great for my needs. You could also buy a big stage fan to help with getting rid of his notes....
  11. TC Electronics G-Major 2 multi effects processor. Light, 1U, multi fx, compressor, tuner (not wonderful though) and a fraction of the price of the Helix (the Helix are good though ) No distortion or overdrive type sounds.
  12. Just sold a couple of pieces of studio gear (headphone amp and controller) to Douglas. Transaction was speedier than a speedy thing breaking the speed limit! As many others have said, he's a pleasure and a gent to do business with. Thanks, Mike
  13. Have a look at this for ideas....SBL - Bass Position
  14. I would persevere with trying to get a good technique as it will help you long term. Something doesn't sound right to me about you not having the strength to fret a string when you've got your thumb behind the neck. It shouldn't take much pressure to hold a string down. Is your bass hung too low and your wrist is bent? With your max 30 deg bend in your wrist it will cause problems if you don't have the bass neck reasonably high. As you're learning, do you have a tutor who could check this out for you?
  15. Excellent T.O.P. I think they should re-name the "Tiny Desk Concert" to "Normal Pub Gig Sized Area Where You're All Crammed In Concert"
  16. I’m now asking £150 I'm starting to have a bit of a clear out of my studio and PA gear....so I can buy some more Here's my Lexicon MX 400 XL - Multi Effects Processor with internal power supply. Fully functional and in great condition apart from the scratch on the top. Still has the plastic over the screen. Comes with the manual but no original box however I will pack it very carefully (as always). Great for using either in the studio as rack hardware or linked to your DAW via the USB port, in a PA, or with an instrument through the FX loop of your amp. This is the uprated model with XLR connections. Originally these were about £550 but can be bought new for £250 now. 18. I sometimes get a similar sound through my studio monitors....then I realise my mobile phone is close by. Move it and its gone Could there be anything close by that might affect your amp? (router, home wireless phone, mobiles etc)
  19. I'm pleased to be able to start off Lukas's feedback thread. I've just sold my Mayones Jabba to him and would gladly deal with him again. Good communications, quick payer etc. Deal with confidence. Thanks Lukas. A hiccup in the shipping process was when the courier tracking said "Delivered to destination country - Denmark"...….and Lukas is in Sweden!
  20. That's a nice looking bass
  21. Not mine anymore but it's blue ('ish)
  22. That sounds a splendid idea......let me check with my wife...…….. ah well....I guess not I've had quite a bit of interest in the bass, mainly for trades, but nothings quite tempted me enough yet. I think more folk would be seriously interested if I was further south in civilization and people could check it out in person. The photos are good.....but in person...….
  23. Probably the nicest AJ I've seen....and I dont usually like the shape 🤪 GLWTS
  24. Have you checked the input / output settings on the modelling side of the amp? Is there a bypass button? I ask as I once had problems with no sound on my rig.....until I found I'd set one of the outputs at 0.....doh!
