1. Can you do a link to the seller please cos I need one for my highway one p bass...?
2. I'll hoist one to that!
3. I have a geddy body with a bassdoc fretless neck that's both for sale and superb...
4.
Based in Hull Andy. About an hour and a half max to Sheffield. This needs some serious thought. Done properly we'd record everything close miked, 6 feet away and 20 feet away at head height, using a pre-recorded bass track. That would give people an idea of the sound they could expect from micing up, and then standing 6 and 20 feet away - on stage and in the audience type of test.
That'd be pretty handy though wouldn't it! If we're doing that it'd be well handy to do the same with a pair of Epi, Vanderkley, Genz, Aguilar cabs too It still wouldn't get over wanting to have a prattle with my amps through 'em too to get some kind of clue how I'd sound...but it'd be an excellent way to get a feel for each brand... What amp to use through them or would a bridged pa amp be the most clinical way of just comparing cabs? although that wouldn't give you effect of your combination would it...
5.
Have you tried Gravatar as suggested in my post above?
yep...in the intervening 7 minutes between my 2 posts when I was signing up for gravatar, faffing linking pictures and then updating misself on here
6. gravatar works though
7. I also can't change my avatar, I can link to pics in threads as I use flickr but even the url link for avatar changes isn't working, it also screwed up my old avatar so I'm avatar-less just now...not a major problem but I did rather like my old one
8.
Wiling to supply a Barefaced S12T for this... I would imagine that each will be highly articulate, with the EAD possibly just sneaking it in the mid band.
That's kind of what I thought too, but the pudding's proof is in the hearing as the well known saying goes Very kind of you to offer your S12-T for this experiment! You're in Leeds yes? I'm in Sheffield; EAD is in Chorley...unless someone else has a Foundation 212 they'd bring along maybe? I wonder if there's a venue at some convenient location where we could (via the medium of a few different amps and basses) try them both to put this question to bed once and for all! Some kind of bash type thing, maybe in Yorkshire If someone's there who can write we could do a proper piece on it for the edification of BC in general? I can bring my ACG Recurve 6, pair of Epi UL112-2, Genz Shuttle 9 and MarkBass LMII to add into the comparison mix...
9. Spoombung-gate may have been a little off topic but...meh, it was an EAD in use with some quality music to demonstrate it so back on topic now yes? I'd really like to try a foundation 212 back to back with a barefaced S12-T in a cage match! The barefaced lists a slightly wider frequency range and is slightly lighter but the EAD looks awesome and I know they sound good cos I had a brief go with one in Moffat when at ACG towers...
10.
Does that tell me when the EAD 1x12" cabs will be available.
I reckon the best place to find that out would be to email EAD direct and see what they've got planned...(and then let us know)
11.
A bass is a classic when people start saying things like "Sounds a bit like a *enter classic bass here*". They also have to be fairly common, otherwise, they aren't that classic. I'm sure everyone could point to a bass that sounds/looks fantastic, and they wished they owned, but because they price is many many thousands of hard earned pounds, and there are only 100 being made, it would be difficult for it to become a classic. Classics tend to be the ones that change everything. The P has it's own unique tone, and changed bass indefinitely. It made bass easy, transportable, loud and relatively cheap. That's isn't the formula for a classic, but again, you can point to a stingray and say it's a classic, because of it's tone.
Basically, this! There will now likely ensue 3+ pages of folks bantering about minor details of the above statement which already gets close enough for me to agree with.
12. pics a big help!
Have you inserted the jackplug into a speaker output yet? It connects the amp to the speaker. It will be very quiet (ie silent) until you do.
this! that connection is so you can plug in the internal speaker and then either add an 8ohm cab or disconnect the internal speaker and use 2 external 8 ohm cabs!
13.
man thats cheap no ones got any money at the moment so theres some amazing bargains out there. Im saving up desperately to get in there before they start creeping up again! Have a bump
I know matey and thanks for the bump, it's a buyers market at the moment no question about that! I'd be losing money on this at this price but it precisely matches a bill I need to pay, gotta pay the man
14. I'm in Sheffield and that sounds like a lot of fun, I haven't got very much free time that could commit though so will have to pass I think, I hope you find someone soon though cos I'd like to see you play sometime!

Itswifty

Simon and I just concluded a postal trade, the details were carefully concocted and once agreed he did exactly what he said he would and precisely when he said he'd do it! A pleasure to deal with. Thanks matey
16. Hiya, tempted! will a standard p-bass fit in it? highway one style... Am in Sheffield so it'd be the courier option I reckon
17. Acg 6 string, make any sound from just about any era more than we'll enough for any audience! a superb all rounder!
18. I think there's a pretty good balance between appearing humble (recognising that no matter how good you think you are, there's always someone better) and encouraging improvement in less skilled players / those who haven't had the years of experience. There are a few threads about certain villfied players, mostly because of their character rather than their playing, generally though this is a forum for pointing out excellence to aspire to and encouraging each other to practice and improve.
19.
Where did you get the case for it mate? Been looking for one for my little mark 3 but the official mark bass bag is extortionately priced.
Likewise!
20. If I had the cash I'd have this back, it's a superb and hugely versatile beauty! plays wonderfully too!
21. I suspect the differences are down to the year of manufacture differences between the manual and your amp maybe? As for pics, a link to photos on Flickr/photobucket/otherhostingsite... still works cos you just paste the html link thingy into your post...
22. Awesome Christmas money spending speed sale type thing!
23.
Having been a sound man at church.... if they are used to regualr basses that ACG Eq might confuse them!
It needn't confuse them, it's me flying it they'll just be getting a pure and sweet line-level from it that'll be the most consistent tone they've ever been able to amplify...(I've been a soundman too - used to sell PA a long time ago)
24. Haven't had chance to try it yet as am on a 'baby break' from Sunday morning serving so I can be with my family, hopefully will begin getting stuck back in sometime next year when our routines have settled down on a Sunday! I can only imagine it will make our soundman deliriously happy as it sounds perfect
