1. could always go for two 4x10s and store them in different locations and if challenged by SWMBO you could claim there is only one - as for the head, SWMBO will not know what is inside the hard rack case unless she takes the cover lid off ....
2.
Listening to a bit of Joes Garage today I couldn't agree more. I'd also nominate Chad wackerman and Scott Thunes
and fowler/thompson/underwood oh and ohearn/bozzio

7.
A nicely simplified and populist explanation... Apologies to those who have looked at this properly...
thanks for not posting Brian Cox

10. its not necessairly about equipment though - sometimes i hear notes that ive not noticed before under odd circumstances like when the volume is down really low tabs and score sheets are fine for a bit of basic guidance but dont necessarily treat them as the ultimate rendition of a certain song as they are usually one persons interpretation - i have seen many bass tabs that are quite slapdash in terms of their accuracy
11. if you want modern sounding and powerful try wizard hammers (or their new hotrod equivalents) - massive passive output no need for active onboard
12. careful what you wish for you could live in a creative shithole like Medway
13. twee momnets such as carry on up the vicarage can be forgiven when considering such gems as racing in a and can-utility and the coastliners
14. fickleness and randonimity - any one of four (plus the fretless if i need it for something specific)
15. does this mena you got silver knobs? or black knobs but not both or no knobs?
16. come along, point and laugh you can even groan at the poster
17.
Why, oh why, did the mullet ever go out of fashion? I think it's a great look.
never mind the mullet - the flame two-piece is slightly more alarming
18. ok i admit i probably jinxed them - i flirted with the dark side and went out and bought one of these
19. wonder if SyCo will be making abeeline for them

21. I actually feel quite sorry for him. He is being used by the industry SyCo types and will no doubt eventually be abused by them too. I also doubt highly, that unlike somebody like say Jon Anderson, he won't be able to sing in that range or register in the latter stages of his career As for the tune, it sounds of the calibre that Rihanna ought to have written the lyrics
22. thanks for the info - i like the look of the graphtech saddles - are they reversible? would need to spin two of them around as on the gotoh bridge the E and A have the long screw below the string rather than above was alsp looking at the j-east circuit as apart from its tone it look snice and compact to fit in the cavity with too much faffing about
23. soooo i was thinking of modding the fretless with a piezo and havent a clue what i need or where to put it would one of the single strip under bridge varieties be ok? was thinking i would need to channel out a thin shallow strip under the bridge for this - would you seat it just with pressure against the base of the bridge plate or epoxy it to the base plate? am presuming will need some sort of preamp tp bring the line level up to a usable level and either a switch between piezo and mags or another blend pot and mixer (is it do-able to blend passive mag pickups with the piezo?) my only experience of piezos is having previously owned an early series one TRB6 which i used to play mainly on piezo (however i understand these were six separate saddle piece piezos all mixed into the active tone control with full blend) - will i see/hear anything closely resembling the sort of tonal timbre and quality from a single strip? any mods suggestions recommendations appreciated (im not averse to attacking it with a chisel/router so any mods considered) correction - would probably not consider full bridge replacemnt with individual saddle piezos as have already modded with a gotoh401 bridge which i have sunk into the bodywork to accomodate it's increased depth) tia
24.
I guess it comes down to 'don't ask, don't get'..
isn't this just sales and negotiating technique winning over musical ability though? (and has broadly applied to many mainstream commercial acts for several decades)
