Yup, 6 months ago, a friend of our son told me he was going to Ronnie Scott's for dinner with some friends. "Who's on?" I enquired. "Dunno, some bloke or a band maybe. Me mate got the tickets" Whoever was playing must have been overjoyed with that bunch in the audience.
i experienced some slick tongued junior apprentice of 'Swiss Tony' trying to schmooze two young lady friends he had taken along to the jazz cafe completely ignorant and constantly talking over the worlds greatest living guitarist (for it was none other than allan holdsworth)
Eh? Normal pub T&C's are that you turn up and play between the agreed times!
Yup that was all good Just the bit afterwards where they fudged the agreed fee and reneged on the deal
He has had better backing singers in the past
Yes didn't that just jump right out of the radio at ya - probably poor monitoring

i succumbed to this a few weeks ago and rather lovely it is too

ive used the amp modelling to different effect - when running it through my head i didnt particularly like the modelling so much - but when running it direct into a mix desk and through PA it sounded good one other thing which you can google and find out is the apparent flaw with USB computer connection - according to the handbool and all the Line6 blurb you 'should' be able to download patches and load them to the pod from the Line6 monkey software - but for some reason it never seems to work - plenty of complaints online about it but not one single solution - not a major problem if you want to design your own patches in the pod and store them in the pod but only a nuisance if you feel the need to back up or download thrid party patches ed- if for any reason i do run thru the head i just use the 'tube di' setting without any amp modelling

I have one of these you could gig with it but would really ideally need the FBV short board to go with it - unless you plan on using just one or two patches to switch between songs or better still not change at all and just use as a DI/preamp straight into a power amp Sound quality and modelling is fine but on the fly control and adjustment is very impractical and unwieldy - personally I keep mine for home noodling and recording and prefer the accessibility of stomp boxes for gigging
Sure there was a big kick off there in 1066 as well. Sounds like a bad place to play to me...
are you there all week?

gig went ok word of advice to anybody considering taking a booking from The Sun in Faversham - as a precaution make sure when you agree the booking and confirm that all parties involved are fully aware of t&c's re the fee

try search on facebook for Kent Music groups - there are plenty of gig noticeboards and agents and promoters lurking around only a very short drive from the ferry terminals
I was mesmerised by the optical illusion making his drumsticks look bendy.
i was more mesmerised by wondering if he was ever going to get to grips with that hihat

im currently scanning reviews from the forum and interwebs n stuff but would appreciate the combined wisdom of the basschat collective on the pros and cons of rackmount versus stompbox i currently use for gigging an LH500 head with the limiter button on (there is no adjustment) - i also use permanently on a boss LMB3 but use it mainly for the tone enhancement and have the compression set very minimal on this and allow the LH500 to do its thing (whatever that is) im toying with the idea if it suits my desires to maybe go for a nice rackmount compressor to sit alongside a korg pitchblack and my lh500 head and then have stompboxes for any other effects (as much as i love the whistles and bells of digital modelling units i really do prefer the idot proof simplicity of the stomp boxes) (i reg use a DD3, Boss bass Chorus and occasionally AW3 but not much more) your inputs are muchly appreciated in advancement

My Bands Website (opinions please)
We are a bunch of amateur, weekend warriors who really only need a website for people to find out where our next gig is, or to contact us if they want to book us
we have been running as a covers band now for just over three years and we havent yet had a single enquiry for a private booking via our website or facebook group - all our private booking without exception have come from people seeing us at our gigs and enquiring in person
I doubt that we'll ever be selling anything from it or anything like that.
exactly - only top end function bands chasing big corporate gigs need venture into the super slick website area - its probably one of the very few areas where bands will get potentially hired or considered on the basis of their online presentation -
Auto play media is never ok as far as I'm concerned. Guaranteed to put me off a website, regardless of its purpose.
+1 definitely this - if i browse to an autoplay page the first thing i look for is the stop/pause button bear in mind that many potential viewers may possibly have spotify or music app or similar playing in the background! personally i would make a soundcloud profile a priority and would recommend investing a couple of hundred squid to record a few live tracks at a local studio - naff phone quality vids can be mixed and tarted up with effects to produce a 'quirky' looking video, the main emphasis being the sound quality and the fact it is recorded 'live' in studio so any listeners will get a fairly reasonable idea of what you sound like as a live band a downloadable pdf generic A3/A4 poster for venues might be an idea (with blank spaces appropriately to fill in venue/date unless youre playing at well known/established venues in local areas then links to venues is usually a good idea for people to click through if you get booked for private parties remember to add them to your gig list (but keep them anonymous) - a band that has a gig list with plenty of private party bookings is indicative of a band that pleases the crowds edit - on a technical note i would personally recommend Wordpress but stick with Wix if youre not tech savvy and it is working for you) -
oops - i just landed at the top of the thread and proceeded to click through all the entries and have a listen and then voted.... and then realised there wass more to scroll down at least i voted for the winner
