100% Hercules. The clip-in headstock ones are wonderful. Best I've ever used.
yes so wonderful that they occasionally pop put when they shouldnt recently our guitarers lovely 70s USA strat almost took a nose dive to the floor as a result of said clip randomly disengaging itself they are good stands, very sturdy and well made but dont rely on the headstock clip as 100% infallible (98% maybe)

Looking for a recording studio where we can record the full band live

http://www.ranscombestudios.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/jimriley plenty of testimonials and references and sound clips in the 'hall of fame' section http://www.ranscombe...ombe-hall-fame/ http://www.ranscombe.../stuart-turner/ Ten or so years ago I was recommended Ranscombe Studios in Rochester by a friend. He confidently claimed that whatever I wanted to do with whatever it was I was writing, then Jim Riley could make the best of it. Having recorded music in a variety of studios across Kent, all of which resulted in demo tapes that sounded like demo tapes and demo CD’s that sounded like demo tapes, I was instantly impressed by the results of my first foray into the Jim’s sonic bunker. The band I had at the time recorded a bunch of things in quick succession and then split up, but all those recordings are better than the band had a right to sound due to the efforts of Mr Riley. None of them sounded like demo tapes, even if that’s all they were. Jim actually could make a reasonable purse out of our sows ear. Over the years I have recorded three albums of solo material and four albums and two EP’s with my band Stuart Turner and the Flat Earth Society. These later albums have garnered some pleasing reviews, all of which are down to Jim’s ability to filter our ideas into a coherent sound, no matter how many kitchen sinks I want to throw in, and often his ability to filter out some of my more whimsical ideas, (and God bless him for that.) We have just finished recording the fourth of these band albums and I think it’s the best thing I personally have ever done. And why? Because of Ranscombe Studios of course and because Jim got us to forget the kitchen sink and play. Live. In the studio. And capture the songs in performance. And in doing so capture something you don’t get everywhere. So here I am, ten years later, writing to you as I would a friend to recommend Ranscombe Studios to you. Whoever you are. when you upload the file you can set tags and change the copyright setting i set ours as creative commons for a list of 8 full song cover versions for our band - been there since november last year with no problems maybe check that its not set to some default setting and that you are actually claiming the copyright on an original song

i seem to be bonding more and more with my faithful old blue squier just lately - always gives me the sound i want with ease both live and recording

What are these vocals you speak of? -
That looks like a Victory V - have you tried one of them?
strange you should mention because it actually tastes better (have edited/resampled the pic as accidentally linked the full size original)
-
You should try the leather, you get 2 sides smooth & shiny & fluffy & dirty https://www.dropbox.com/s/dcgo5kxr13zdu17/2015-04-26%2019.22.33.jpg?dl=0
I'll have to save up as that one was 3.50 from t' local music emporium
A felt pick? That's interesting, I didn't know they existed... I'm guessing you get that solid pick sound without as much attack?
pretty much this
yes indeed - i nearl bought a leather pick but that was 3.50 and unfortunately i only had 2.50 on me just enough for the felt pick

JT dont be like that its a cool song is quite a tricky one too as its a very steady rhythm - am guessing its a sequenced arpeggiated synth line and not a 'proper' bass on the recording we do ramp it up a slight bit too and the guitar is all very effect laden and 'edge' like so sounds a little bit U2-ish we think it works feel free to come to a gig and throw rotten tomatoes if you disagree
-
so ... we've been trying to do taylor swift , style to be precise at first i was fingering but it just wasnt hitting the spot so i tried it with a pick and it began to click straight away so i went out and invested in a new item for my bassing arsenal ... a felt pick bloody marvellous it is

Amp vibrating off cab....any cures..?
steve-bbb replied to jonnythenotes's topic in General Discussion
spill some sugary lemonade or coke or similar drink on top and wait for it to dry you could do one large spill over the entire top surface or you could save some fizzy pop by just doing four smaller spills directly under where the rubber feet of the amp will sit hope this helps -
anything with Bono.
Imagine if bonito did a duet with mick hucknall

dont judge yourself by what you see as the most conspicuous examples around miss 3 year player whatever here name is, wouldnt have got that gig if she was a size 18 with ginger wirey hair and acne wearing NHS glasses (i do believe there is a thread already on here somehwere discussing the merits of her [s]skimpy clothing[/s] adequate bass playing) likewise history shows us that some players can do much more more - vai had only been playing for 7 years when he was spotted by zappa after transcribing his work if it makes you happy keep on doing it and get constructive advice on how to improve whatever it is you are doing that makes you happy if it makes other people happy and gets them on their feet shaking their groove thang then all the better unless of course you would prefer to be like a NAMM booth/bedroom technical fretw***ing circus freak show -
Try putting the mobile number into Google and also Facebook search

crackly pots are most likely due to either dirt on the tracks or the tracks being damaged wd40 will just loosen/dissolve and dirt stuck on the tracks so may provide a temp fix - if it continues then it most likely will be damaged track on the pot and hence time for replacement

and then there's that chris squire chap ... thumb over top of neck, crooked little finger, not to mention the flouncey sleeves getting in the way of everything and playing with a pick instead of fingers tsk tsk stk
