1.
Yes, what IS that? The thinking seems to be that if you have a 5-string bass you're somehow going to play too many notes and what's worse, probably not shut up, stand at the back and play roots and fifths like I want you to so that my great guitar skilz can come to the fore, thanks very much please. 5. Lesley is the big cheese at teh D&G and has been a huge supporter of local bands on the music scene for many years - its Lesley and her daughter Kelley's birthday and we have been asked to play there on the saturday night - very good live music pub which always draws a good crowd - so do come along and point and laugh
 6.
When I first joined my current combo, Brown Eyed Girl was a staple, the vocals / guitarist had even developed a little hip swinging dance to accentuate the happy go lucky feel of the song. We no longer play it and to this day, if i see him perform that 'dance' while we're playing a song, its usually the last time it gets included in the set. He's far better if he concentrates.
do you have video footage ?
 7.
I love those two songs. They are great songs to listen to and play. They always get the audience up and dancing (which is what we get paid to do after all).
yup

 12.
oh well! Poor Kanye, what will he do without my approval?
Crawl back under a stone hopefully and leave the parody to Reg Watts
 13.
By coincidence I have Shadows and Light on in the car right now and I was thinking exactly the same; genius and THAT* live band! She's one of those geniuses who makes everything look easy. Prince says 'Hissing...' is one of the few albums he can listen to all the way through. And +1 to all of Jaco's best work being done with Joni. I wouldn't know where to start or stop with her brilliant lyrics but I love 'a helicopter lands on the PAN-AM roof like a dragonfly on a tomb'. The live version of Hejira with that achingly beautiful play out - pity the band footage was replaced by the ice skaters. *Joni wanted Wayne Shorter but he and Jaco's Weather Report contracts prevented any two members being involved in another project.
Agreed - the pan am roof line is one of the main stand out lines of the whole album Shame about Wayne shorter though ... Bit of a bummer she had to put up with Michael Brecker! Lol
 14.
Like it or not, Kanye West is the biggest rock star on the planet.
On Uranus maybe
 15.
Kanye's great. At least he's got something different to say.
I agree he's all heart isn't he I mean, didn't he just give some bloke called Paul McCartney a bit of an artistic helping hand?

 24. not exactly last night was last friday but only just got some images - early start to the day as had to be soundchecked by 1pm - superb sound and lights by Panache Audio using a very nice compact RCF rig - then a spot of lunch from the venue and off down the road for a personal guided tour of the beeb (courtesy of our saxomophone playist who is a sound engineer with said establishment - the radio one live lounge is barely big enough to swing a cat!) and only two hours playing from about 830-1030pm and all packed down before 11pm - oh and a guest list including several top fashion models
