1.
Is it a Bluesman?
No it's red man
 2. some people slag off function bands chasing corporate events but unless you're big enough to be headlining hammersmith odeon then corporate gigs and similar calibre private bookings are the order of the day for many bands- , as scalpy says above, to make it worth the 'very significant logistical hassle' , anything but these type of gigs is a road to melting your bands finances and sanity
 3. this was a good size for 7 piece band - big enough to swing a cat but not so big as to feel lost and yes that is two music stands you can see there
 4.
Yes, what IS that? The thinking seems to be that if you have a 5-string bass you're somehow going to play too many notes and what's worse, probably not shut up, stand at the back and play roots and fifths like I want you to so that my great guitar skilz can come to the fore, thanks very much please. 8. Lesley is the big cheese at teh D&G and has been a huge supporter of local bands on the music scene for many years - its Lesley and her daughter Kelley's birthday and we have been asked to play there on the saturday night - very good live music pub which always draws a good crowd - so do come along and point and laugh
 9.
When I first joined my current combo, Brown Eyed Girl was a staple, the vocals / guitarist had even developed a little hip swinging dance to accentuate the happy go lucky feel of the song. We no longer play it and to this day, if i see him perform that 'dance' while we're playing a song, its usually the last time it gets included in the set. He's far better if he concentrates.
do you have video footage ?
 10.
I love those two songs. They are great songs to listen to and play. They always get the audience up and dancing (which is what we get paid to do after all).
yup

 15.
oh well! Poor Kanye, what will he do without my approval?
Crawl back under a stone hopefully and leave the parody to Reg Watts
 16.
By coincidence I have Shadows and Light on in the car right now and I was thinking exactly the same; genius and THAT* live band! She's one of those geniuses who makes everything look easy. Prince says 'Hissing...' is one of the few albums he can listen to all the way through. And +1 to all of Jaco's best work being done with Joni. I wouldn't know where to start or stop with her brilliant lyrics but I love 'a helicopter lands on the PAN-AM roof like a dragonfly on a tomb'. The live version of Hejira with that achingly beautiful play out - pity the band footage was replaced by the ice skaters. *Joni wanted Wayne Shorter but he and Jaco's Weather Report contracts prevented any two members being involved in another project.
Agreed - the pan am roof line is one of the main stand out lines of the whole album Shame about Wayne shorter though ... Bit of a bummer she had to put up with Michael Brecker! Lol
 17.
Like it or not, Kanye West is the biggest rock star on the planet.
On Uranus maybe
 18.
Kanye's great. At least he's got something different to say.
I agree he's all heart isn't he I mean, didn't he just give some bloke called Paul McCartney a bit of an artistic helping hand?
