Had one for two years and very pleased with it - has a 3 way switch - off 1 2 - for the compression driver which is very bright - plenty of low end drive and mid punch - cab isn't light but what 410 is? But it is about as compact as you could make a 410 - the tolex covering is not the tuffest so will start showing scuff marks unless you use covers for transport - if you find a good used one at good price if say they are the best bang for your buck in that range

Boss LMB3 adds a nice boost and colour to the tone Sansamp boxes are v good too

i guess so but a proper kick drum mic would obviously provide the optimum response - and shove it right in the hole (kickport that is - some people put it just outside the hoile but a friend who is a recording engineer of some considerable experience prefers putting the mic head into the kick port) or alternatively keep him out of the PA and just send him to the gym to do some squats hope this helps

the venue was rather splendid playing a social do for the horticultural researchers at east malling in the fantastic bradbourne house - but the buffet didnt start until half time but once they had been suitably fed a significant number of them ventured on to the dance floor - just a shame my head decided to develop a fault half way through so second half was done at slightly less volume with me playing direct through the PA - not the best of sound due to the extremley lofty ceiling this along with our last gig at leeds castle have been the best two green rooms so far but much better food here at bradbourne than at the leeds

does he have a kick port?
Conservative club in Oxford - we wore purple ties and the singer a matching purple dress. no one said a word - they seem to be accepting the colour now
should have offered them some fruitcake as well

did the heart of kent hospice winter ball on friday at leeds castle (not in the castle itself but in the fairfax hall which is one of the buildings in the whole complex) - i cringed when i first walked in at the sight of all the stone/ceramic tile flooring covering the entire hall however the walls and roof were a mass of timeber and stuff and it turned out to be one of the warmest sounding gigs we've done imho
I wouldn't say shot, but Ferry has always had a 'weak' delivery so I just think this is a smart way of keeping the gig going. And to be fair, he has ALWAYS featured great backing vocals from way back. I still think he can just about cut it and is still valid as an artist... who doesn't totally rely on plundering his classic back catologue ... He can still mix it up which is why he is still watchable, IMO. That is why I say he knows the value of great bands... and great BV's are always part of that in his bands.
and after all who is going to be scrutinising the man himself too closely when he some skimpy black leather clad ultravixen on drums ?

Most decent DIY or electrical shops sell earth testing plugs they should be about a fiver. I had similar problem and it was caused by faulty earth connection in wall socket which will affect all other sockets on the same ring main http://www.groundology.co.uk/earthing/accessories
Are you talking about my Blue Burst ASAT? Interesting , I have just started gigging with it again. I used it last night and it was fun to play especially with the active pre-amp on. I purchased it used a few years ago for $500.00 mint condition Blue
are you sure you need that gold top? -
go for wordpress - most hosts will have it set up ready to install - but as JT says you will most likely pay more for local installs of apps also check the whole package - the price may look lower in comparison to others but some will possibly include domain name registration - or if they dont they might be charging less for the hosting but raking it back by charging an over-inflated price if you register a domain through them
I've still never played a Mexican Fender that I'd pay any sort of money for. I've played two US Fenders that have been sublime, the rest distinctly average. Every Squire I've played has been good to excellent though. In fact when I bought my Squire VM jazz a few weeks ago I tested it against a US Fender with a mind to buy a Fender if it was head and shoulders above the Squire. Other than being a bit lighter and having a slightly sweeter sound (due to the custom shop pickups) the Squire was by far the better bass.
+1 maybe part reason they created a rod for their own back with the Squier's being 'too good' ?
Thanks folks to be honest that's what I thought everyone would say , so I'll keep my squire I've a practise amp so I'm ok there also no neighbours so I can practise whenever I like .not really clued up on effects and things like that. May use the money to get more lessons probably the best idea.
if the squire is nice enough and you spend a modest 50-80 quid on a decent set of pups you probably wont want/need to splash out on an expensive bass for a while imho mcton etc etc
