3.
Here is our last video -
catchy me likey
4. 15 year old jazz guitarist Andreas Varady performs a piece which he wrote for Quincy Jones' 80th birthday party. 12 years old - Andreas Varady at Nancy Blake's, Limerick http://youtu.be/MiRxLgyN_Lo
5. Nige i take it youve heard of this chap? unlike Mr Gottardo he is now gigging with big names and being endorsed by big names, and imho all very much deservedly considering he (was) 14 (when he first started coming to media attention) there is very little to fault - great soloing and improv structure - obviously very metheny influenced but that's no bad thing - and very modest and no showboating
6.
Presumably this is the same attitude that prevails when voting commences for the monthly Basschat Composition Challenge.
im a miserable cynic and i still voted
7. im sure i would have enjoyed it more if the drummer hadnt been dragging it like a doom dirge and the bass moved off the low B just once in a while to provide a hint of dynamic lift to the melody at appropriate points compositionally some nice stuff in there but he said it all in 1:30 so the remaining 3:00 were just more of the same without actually going anywhere imho ymmv mcton etc etc just my 2p worth you understand
8. heres a nice little example of the bass pushing the beat along - how PHAT is this bass tone!! http://youtu.be/IrQIx8kN1-Y?t=2m
9. fifty squillion members on this here forum and only sixteen bother to come and vote sigh....
10. trace boxer 65 here - 65w and 12 inch - has heasdphone output but still ok for low volume practcice at home - ok for small/acoustic gigs (just)
11. bump
12. edit - just to clarify i do actually agree with the OP http://bassplayer.com/artists/1171/reharm-phenom-henrik-linder-of-dirty-loops/26636
13. joint problems here too just taking it nice and easy and no over stretching or over exerting you will find that your technique will develop to accomodate your fingering requirements
14. our bunch have selceted this on the 'to do next' list ive categorically told them i will only start looking at it if they are 100% on it - not technically difficulty to play, more of a memory feat, two and half minutes , 64 plus bars and no two bars the same, and my grey cells are deteriorating daily here at an rapid pace
15.
Do people hate Hartke? Or is it just kids who haven't tried them? From the customer service side on here alone, I would try a Hartke rig any day..
+1 loads of hartke fans on here that ive noticed over last few years - i currently use a hartke rig which incidentally is better than the trace rig i owned back in early 90s and only half the price imho hartke are the best bang for buck on the market
16. it's not just about playing in front of or behind the beat either it's also a question of degree and not unexpectedly it's all down to minute variations and the most subtle of nuances for example take a slow mellow bluesy type number - play too far behind the beat and you will sound plain and simple out of time - play on the beat or too close to the beat and it will sound 'not laid back enough' takes a lot of practice and experience and can often be one of those things where if you try too hard you will stuff it up good and proper and overcook it ed - imho ymmv mcton etc etc
17.
PM me next time, I have a guitaist friend in Wantage who needs to get out more he keeps theatening to start playing again. I was amused at the thought of 4 bands all arguing who was to be sent to Faringdon to see you, and drawing lots. -- oh alright I'll go =
wouldnt be a chap called Reg would it ?
18. yup i reckon if you keeping it police authentic you need to have a fight with the drummer
19.
... or a Jedward? Imagine having to live with the hair!
still better than hucknall
20. could be worse you could be mick hucknall in a simply red tribute
21. do-able but expect the result to avry depending upon the room, placement, dampening, ambient noise etc etc our band have one and our guitarists uses it to record rehearsals and gigs - you really need to experiment with it to get anything vaguely reasonable from the built in mics personally speaking having seen how they record i would put the funds towards an LED light bar or something
22. http://youtu.be/OhpwSemx5Ls http://youtu.be/ehXUyW4-hA8
