1.
Staggering numbers - 28% of $7billion market tied up in Guitar Centre. If it does fall, it would take out a few manufacturers along the way. Might force Fender to trim down their range..
An end to all the pointless cosmetic signature series on both fender and Squier range would not be a bad thing . Will be a shame for any small business that gets dragged under through no real fault of their own making
2. possibly making assumptions as to why the seller doesnt want to accept a bank transfer for example .... could be something like an overdraft which would wipe out the transfer and the seller needs the cash more urgently for other expenses rather than clearing the overdraft straight away - could be many different reasons - and obviously these sort of reasons any seller is possibly not going to want to divulge - could be a whole load of reasons why he wants the cash instead of a transfer but unless there is any suspicion at all on the provenance of the goods then imho the request for a cash sale shouldnt in itself be viewed as supicious
3. Following!! I went to see local band rumble fish at dog and gun last night and their bass player who is on here I believe was using one of these and the sound is absolutely immense I even had to ask if they were DI'ing some through the pa (but they weren't)
4. not a tone i play with personally but in the big bass scheme of things this little Eddie Offord production has got to be up there in the top ten oh and this little bit of production loveliness from Trevor Horn too http://youtu.be/vzxZzIiO84Y

7. afternoon peeps putting this up on this forum as the items stolen are all effects - copied from their facespace page posted about midday today am not the point of contact just spreading the word - any info please contact Manny's Music 01634 828898 URGENT AND SERIOUS MESSAGE, PLEASE SHARE! This will be a rather honest status from myself (Manny) so please be aware I refuse to take this light heartedly. I do apologies if i come across arrogant or craving for sympathy here. That is not the intent. Last night we had a break-in in the store. No guitars were stolen however a number of guitar effects pedals were. In a time where retail, business and people struggle and have done for a few years now, this is a real kick in the teeth, nuts, in fact any proverbial real place of pain. We all try really really hard to help people in the shop and we have put our heart, soul, health and money into all of this. And where the last few years have not been easy, we have struggled and survived and done the best we can do for everyone. IF you see any of these listed pedals being sold, passed around or anything, please let us know. There is one in particular pedal that was stolen that is rather rare, hard to find and actually my own possession. We do also have a crime report number so if you wish to contact them, we can supply that. Please spread the word, tell your friends, tell your local swap shops and music shops, who ever you would like to. I am FED UP of constantly having things happen which affect me, my family and my lively hood in what I've loved doing for more than 15 years now where other than being able to get cheap equipment, my aim was to always help musicians get to where they want. PEDALS STOLEN : MXR Variphase. (This pedal is very hard to find. Has no 'feet' on it and was on my own personal pedal board. I also have pictures if needed) Mooer Pitchbox Mooer Juicer Mooer Solo Boss Phase Shifter PH-3 In box Boss Overdrive OD-3 In box BBE Green Screamer Line 6 Pocket Pod Fender Overdrive In box Ibanez Tone Lok Tri-Mode Chorus TC-7 Digitech X-Series Turbo Flange Stereo Flanger In box Digitech Bad Monkey Danelectro Cool Cat Tremelo There may also have been a Stentor Student Violin (no case, no bow) however I am still figuring out if there was any more. Many thanks. Manny
8.
I realise I slagged off slapping videos, but I take it back when seeing this slapper. He is great fun and is clearly enjoying himself. I love his man whore look too What I do hate is when someone is demoing a bass and slaps all over it when you want to know how it sounds normally!
i think HJ should be given his own stand at NAMM

12. the slidey widdley genre
13. you could try a very simple modification which would involve a bit of re-wiring and add a small 2 way selector switch to swap the pup configuration from parallel to series which i am informed would change the cleaner sound of the jazz to more of a P thump
14. sort of democratic decision - but whatever any band chooses its down to whether the singists are comfortable singing a particular song we will occasionally change keys if it is just a simple issue of register for the singists but always try and stay within 2 (3 maximum) semitones of the original our band recently pick 'for once in my life' for the 'to learn for next rehearsal list' but i did insist that i would only do it if everybody else was going to put the effort to make it work 100% as whilst it is not technically difficult to play it is nonetheless a bit of a memory tester remembering all 60+ different bars
15. buy a squier P and a wizard/hotrod plenty change left over (in fact it would be about a 50/50 split between your bass GAS and Mrs B's retail therapy) win win situation no?
16.
The thing is, which J? The fat, authoritative Moving Pictures J, or the fizzy flamenco-propelled mess he's been using recently?
the chunky one of course
17.
One of their best tracks IMO... but I'm not a fan of the Wal/Superwound elastic bands combo Jazz or Rick for me please Ged!
yes yes yes get the J oh and the clippers
18. dont you just love them ive been fiddling with the GLORIOUS OM RIFF for a while but despite getting all the right notes i always seem to bugger up the odd count where it turns around ... until this evening ... i just turned the position inside out and changed the position and fingering completely inside out to how i usually previously played it and the time/count just fell stright into place without even thinking about it http://youtu.be/ASoUUKzgCG0
