1.
Justin Fletcher who plays Mr Tumble on children's tv is the long lost younger brother of Mark King. They had a falling out in 1935 when Mark was heard to say 'oi Justin, put my 'king bass down'. Justin soon after changed his surname to Fletcher by deed pole.
1935? Deed pole? BTW, Mr Tumble plays a R*ck*nb*ck*r. #srsly
 2.
Even if it is... I still like it - Paul was probably playing drums the at the time!
He was! Ringo had temporarily left the band at this point, so they started without him.
 3. Ask him to contact you via Gumtree's message system.
 4.
Ah, visceral music. I haven't the stomach for it these days.
Ah, stop ponceing about...
 5.
I see they have a sunburst B stock 5er still in....and a white one too, but in swamp ash.
Luckily I'm GAS-free at the moment And ash v alder... is ash (on average) lighter?
 6.
I tried this but singer kept complaining as the headstock smacked his face a few times
Stand next to the guitarist instead?
 7.
It seems that you've been playing Brahms and Liszt; I may be wrong.
I was thinking of something more baroque, but it'll probably sound like Scheidt.
 8. I've just put on Wind and Wuthering (having got it to study for a classic rock project :-) ).... Eleventh Earl of Mar hits its stride and I have to say "Mike Rutherford!"
 9. ^^^ Nice work!
 10.
I would add a Yamaha BB 414 to your cheapo bass list - you might be surprised. I was. Looks, sounds and feels like a bass way above its price point.
+1! I'm just getting into fives and picked up a s/h BB425 for peanuts, and it's blown my socks off. It seriously competes with my late-70s P.
 11. When I read the title, I expected the answer to be "all of them". Of the three, I've recently acquired an Ibanez SR7xx and I'm finding it quite versatile, as well as being quite light and balancing comfortably.
 12.
Go to the 'Basses for sale' section, then put your search term(s) in the search box (top right of the page). Make sure it says 'This topic' before you click on the little magnifying glass, and there you go.
or even "This forum"
 13. I love the idea of "writing" the music like this, although I'm probably not going to buy a tablet just to do it. Re. the thread diversion re other notation programs, I'm using Lilypond, which is free and doesn't appear to be lacking any "must-have" features. Its quirk, in this day and age, is that it uses text input rather than WYSIWYG.
 14.
Yes, many of us might be able to spot this fake, being passed off as something it isn't But this might be someone who isn't sure, or is taken in by the sellers' blurb.... Let them know - it's what you'd expect - someone to help & inform you..... This bass IS being passed off as a Fender
Agreed - and reported.
 15.
bit saucy innit
I was worried the record was going to jump when she was waving her feet around.
 16. Good news for fans of the slap book's cover.... it's now available on tap! </coat>
 17.
http://www.sibeliusblog.com/news/staffpad-is-a-music-handwriting-app/?singlepage=1
I want one. BTW, my birthday's next month... :-) NB the linked article discusses why it's Windows-only.
 18.
Her body languge suggests she is quite apathetic about the sound and is ready to leave, no matter what you do !
Maybe she spotted a music stand over on the left.
 19.

That's settled it: I'm not going to risk using my vacuum cleaner again!
 20.
Refer to the BassChat Spotify collaborative play list for plenty of great bass lines I say!
Ah, I just took a peek at that (http://basschat.co.uk/topic/246416-spotify-best-bass-lines-evaaar-playlist-get-involved/). Looks good: I'll have a listen when I have a spare, ulp, 14 hours and 55 minutes!
 21. Ekk, deadline day! I've whittled it down to six, now it gets dirty...
 22. I got distracted trying to work out which side of a napkin is the "back"...
 23.
Great post. A picture is worth a thousand words.
+1. For a moment I considered sketching something on the back of a napkin and taking a phone photo of it....
 24.
This. What's also useful is to set it to click as beats 1, 2, 3 &4, then play semiquavers (so a slow tempo is best) and use the 'click' on the first of the 4 semiquavers, then play with it on the 2, 3 and 4. Bit of a head-melt, but a GREAT technical exercise...
That sounds sick and perverted. I might try it tonight.
 25.
I couldn't see 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' in there. As usual with these kinds of lists there are some choices that having you quietly nodding your head and some that make you go 'wtf?'.
Some omissions (IMO, of course) in no particular order... She's Lost Control Peaches Roxanne Forget-me-Nots
